The drug that ruins lives here is the one that is legal and comes to you from a prescription pad. It's literally heroin in a pill. Money money money.

I absolutely agree that our system is screwed up to say the least. But still, rules are rules. And when you decide to break them then do so at your own risk. And if you ever do decide to break the rules then at least be descreet about it.

What elam did is the equivalent of someone that drives to an underground brothel and picks up 4 girls. Then decides to withdraw 4 thousand dollars to pay them. When he's stopped by police, he has money, 4 girls that he doesn't know the name of etc...

your analogy is like saying "but prostitution is legal in some other countries and cities. And heck the girl wasn't forced so its not like rape or something"

A lot of other media outlets are saying it was a 126 ounces, just shy of 8lbs.

Then yeah, that definitely makes a big difference.  I would imagine the Ravens would have the correct information but who really knows.

USA Today is reporting 126 grams which is about 4.5 ounces.  Unfortunately it's definitely over the "personal use" limit of 3/4 of an ounce.  Anything over that is intent to distribute, whether or not he was is unknown.  Could have just been some dank bud he really liked LOL!!  He should have called an Uber instead of driving himself and driving like a damn fool.

Not a very bright guy on the field or off it. He wasn't going to sell it though. I guarantee you he was going to smoke all of that weed. His poor judgement and slow reaction on the field really showed - especially at the end of that Patriots game. He isn't talented enough to get away with doing any kind of drug.

I wonder if Ozzie or any of his scouts ever sat down and talked to Elam. All you have to do is look into his eyes. There is a reason why they call the eyes the "window of the soul".

Who cares about how much the drugs weigh, THEY ARE ILLEGAL.

I may be on the outside but I absolutely do. If your at home and have an occasional lapse of judgement that's one thing. To go driving around with enough Marjuana to supply the whole club is another thing. And that's me giving him the benignity of doubt.

its like two 16 year olds having unprotected sex vs a20yo and a 22 yo vs a 30 yo having an affair with a 16 year old. Yeah they all fall under the same law but one is forgivable and the other is a much deeper problem.

I regularly say this at work with people when they screw up. I can deal with a smart person that makes an honest mistake because heck we all do. I refuse to deal with an ideot because the minute we deal with one problem he finds himself in another stupid problem then another and he/she then ultimately call themselves "unlucky people" or bad luck magnets. No your just dumb to regularly put yourself in bad situations.

in other words, I can find some sympathy for someone who gets caught driving drunk the first time. Il try to convince myself that it was a lapse of judgement and thank god no one got hurt as long as he makes an effort to not do it again. but I can never forgive someone who drives city to city with a 12 pack of beer in the car. It's like "so you planned to drive intoxicated at high speeds for prolonged periods of time"!! That person should go to jail head first because he's so much more likely to screw up more in the near future.

20 grams is hardly enough to supply the entire club; it's less than an Ounce. The laws are old and outdated. We've got people spending 20-30 years in jail on possession charges when pedophiles and rapists are getting out in 2 years - tell me how much logic is actually being used.

The law is the law regardless of what slant you put on it.

They should have cut his butt last year and keep Brooks another stupid harbaugh idea

Harbs is not a good evaluator of talent, He inherited the majority of the last super bowl teams. maybe he should be drug tested. He's only has one more chance, with Bisciotti. Hello Cleveland.

You are so wrong on all counts. Geez. By the way, who is testing you lol.

After being a bust and getting busted, I guess he can start his shoe store chain now however, tying his name to any venture at this point would be bad business. He didn't show very much but being a first round pick, someone will pick him up but with this, the list is thinning, though I think a coach's ego will make him think he's the one to turn him around. I can see Bellichek make a HOFer out of him. I hate "The Hoodie".

Is it time for OZ to retire with no viable championships insight for the next 10 years? It would be wise to get out on a high note and enjoy retirement. Lots of Raven housekeeping is in order. A good place to start is at the top and work your way through the coaching staff, accordingly. Rebuild the offensive line this year and next, the defensive line the following two years, and lastly work on the defensive backs. Joe will be gone in two years either retired or traded. Between now and the next two years pick up another young strong armed quarterback. The newly formed Ravens will be about the "rush", either rushing the opponent's quarterback or rushing the football. Expect the fan base to erode as TV timeouts make watching games unbearable. The RedZone is saving what is left of NFL entertainment.
