Is the Bengal's Cedric Perrman the same one we drafted in the 6th round in 2009?

Yes, he has 70 carries for 349 yards, 5 yard per carry average in his NFL Career, not bad.

Its the 5th time since 2007 that they have had 2 number ones in one Draft. I Know they got the second one this year from Philadelphia in the Carson Wentz trade.

If the Browns give up a first round pick for a backup QB, it will indicate that nothing has changed with regard to how their organization does things. Puts things in perspective when I complain about the Ravens. Sheesh...glad I'm not a Browns fan.

We have enough problems with the way Ozzie has drafted the past 4-5 years and none of us has control over him, so why worry about the other teams will do.
It's the RAVENS owner that has to kick a few staffers/coaches in the butt to get them to make better choices

Have they hired Ed Reed yet???????????.

I'd take an 8 year NFL career which only required 70 in-game carries from me to continue making a minimum of 500k per year. I don't care how grueling the practices are, that's a sweet gig.

How awesome would it be to steal Lawrence Timmons from the Steelers? It's highly unlikely, but if we don't get deals done with Williams or Wagner by the 8th then Ozzie better gear up to make a few splashes.

Steelers will have to easily pay Brown a deal worth $12 million a year, if not more. I wouldn't be surprised if Bell played on the tag either at the $13 million marker. His injury concerns could make it hard to give bell a big time deal, but his production while healthy could easily command +$10 million a year.

We could very easily clear $15 million in space, plus the cap ceiling will rise by at least $12 million meaning we could very likely have $30 million in space.

I hope we retain Williams, Wagner, juice and Guy, but we likely only sign Williams or Wagner. Let's extend Webb and Wallace and clear up more space.

FA wish list, trying to stay practical:

Marshall,  if he gets released

Lawrence Timmons

Kevin Minter

Pierre Garçon

Logan Ryan

Bengals and Browns will not lose any players over money. They have enough cap space to sign who ever they want to keep.

I was thinking the same thing. I like Timmons. The Steelers will move on from him with the emergence of Shazier. That may be a good move, but he is 30.

We could easily clear 25. The last article suggest 20+ and I think there are a couple more to add to that list.
20+12+15 we already have=almost 50. Plus Flacco could restructure a little.
I think Williams and Wagner walk despite our offers. I hope and think Juice will leave. And Guy is easily replaceable with who's on the roster already imo. Even Henry should step in right away and be better I think.
I'm good with extending Wallace,But Extend Webb? REALLY?

Because they have been the worst team in the NFL for so long. Pick in the top 5 every year so they can always trade down and get more picks. Then they draft horribly, so no money to spend on resigning draft picks. And nobody wants to sign there in FA

Brandon La Fell worth a second glance

NAH. He's a one trick pony with bad hands. That's the description of our #1 and 2 wr already lol. Hoping and thinking Perriman can take a big step next year though

Ya we should be fine with cap, at least not poor as it gets anyway lol I just said 30 as a bare minimum but it could be much higher.

Everyone is hating on Webb and we could just cut him or ask him to take another pay cut, which he already has, but with that scenario we have more dead money and an extreme need at a critical position. Webb might not be as fast as he used to be but he was actually solid for most of the year. He made his open field tackles and was around the ball when it was in his direction.

when I say extend, I mean adding an additional year to spread his big hit this year so it isn't that much and then we will save more next year if we cut him. If we don't sign Jefferson, Berry, or a top 3 safety in the draft, such as Adams, Hooker or Baker, it could be a long day with another slow vet or mid round rookie trying to pick up the playbook.

I hear ya. I wouldn't want to cut him unless a clear plan was in place. Even then sometimes its risky. I think sticking with Webb and relying on him could be risky as well though. He's had multiple knee injuries and is just getting older. He wasn't a playmaker last year, but I agree with you, he was solid. That interception in our endzone was a thing of beauty. I agree with you, I think finding a competent Free Safety is very hard to do, especially when they start with the team.
The thing I think though is Weddle could play FS at a top 5 FS level in this league. I also believe plugging a SS in right away is a Much easier task than FS. That way we would also have Weddle there for a couple years too to show him the ropes and get him ready to take over after Weddle moves on. Instead of starting completely over after Weddle and Webb. I'm all for Cyprien coming in at SS. I think it would make us way more physical, improve our run defense, and improve our secondary and defense as a whole. He won't cost too much either. Jefferson could be an option but I think he's overated and will cost more. Cyprien might be better too. Certainly a better run defender.
But yeah, I don't want to cut Webb either unless there's a legit plan in place. But given the flexibility that Weddle gives us, I don't think that should be an extremely difficult task. Even top Strong Safeties these days are only average at covering the pass. They just really need to play the line of scrimmage well for the most past. Tony Jefferson is going to get big bucks and is going to be the top paid Safety behind All Pro Berry this offseason. He's played in 63 career games as a Free and Strong Safety, and he only has 2 Career interceptions. He's not an obvious cut. But I would cut Webb and move Weddle to FS. I think that would drastically improve our FS which would improve our Defense big time. Then we could also plug a thumper in at SS. I love Weddle but he is not a thumper. Maybe we could even plug Mr. Patrick Onwuasor in at SS.

Webb can't play, Watson's hurt, doesn't even try to play, add 2-3 just to old and slow, forget Webster and Williams. Also cut 1 or 2 of the other TE's or WR's that can't catch and we have 30M plus.
Forget about picking up other teams castoffs for big money. We need a new front office that will move up in the draft. I would rather trade the 5,6 and 7th round picks to get move value players in rounds 1-4.
Truth is, Ozzie just can't do it anymore.
