Your Favorite Player That Nobody Knows About?

39 posts in this topic

Just simply wondering, who are some guys that you like, that may not even be on some teams draft boards? For what ever reason (Injuries, arrests, etc.).

Personally, I love Al-Quadin Muhammed.

Hes a defensive end from Miami. He got suspended for punching a Miami student, then got kicked off of Miami for accepting illegal gifts. I watched this kid through highschool and he has immense talent. He is 6'-3" and 250# has the prototype body and athleticism of an NFL edge rusher.

Marquel Lee, linebacker from Wake Forest. He has a great size, good athleticism, and really has a knack for stopping plays behind the line of scrimmage. I think he'd be going much higher had he played for someone like USC or Washington instead of Wake Forest.

I loved his tape, didn't understand why he wasn't talked about. Now I get it a bit more.

Corn Elder CB Miami 5'10" 180 lbs

I don't think Elder is on anyone's radar, he could be a 4th or 5th round pick maybe.

Elder was a RB his first two seasons at Miami but couldn't see the field behind guys like Duke Johnson & Joe Yearby.  He moved to CB his Junior Yr experienced plenty of growing pains in year one at CB.

Senior season he improved immensely helped lead an improved Miami defense. Elder often covered the opposing teams #1 WR man to man and held his own with many of them.

Elder is a very strong tackler both in run game and passing game. He has good agility and nice awareness turning to deflect passes.

My player comparison for him : a poor man's Antoine Winfield...

I'm still bummed that he got kicked off Miami, especially after seeing how improved that defense was under Manny Diaz.   Muhammad would have had a breakout year.    Before he got kicked off the team I remember early predictions were that he would lead the team in sacks, be All-ACC maybe put himself in position to be a 3rd rounder.

I think he can become a productive Pro, if he's put in the right situation.

I'd have to go with Chris Godwin, WR out of Penn State.

Dangerous us on the deep throw, makes contested catches and isn't afraid to go through the middle where as most receivers don't.

Loves playing in the big game, his bowl games stand for that. He could be a steal later on in the draft, as I feel like he's been highly underrated

maybe in the media but there are a few guys on here who are on the chris godwin train, likewise isaiah ford - those two both look like good prospects who will hopefully be available late in the the 3rd round and into the 4th

but in terms of liking him, i'm 100% with you

I really like Tanoh Kpassagnon as a developmental prospect.

Maybe not exactly under the radar, but he's incredibly raw having only played a few years... but the size, strength and athleticism for his size are huge.

With the right coaching staff and a proper developmental plan I think he can develop into a monster.

His tape isn't consistently good, but he flashes moments of dominance. Right now he wins with pure strength or athleticism.... so he'll need to put a lot of work in. My only concern is if he truly loves the game enough to put that type of work in - but if he does I think he's got the raw talent/ability to become a monster.

Id love him in the 4th. Depending on who else is there I'd even consider him with the 3rd round comp. 5th and it's a no brainer to me.

4th? He's a bonafide 2nd round talent to me, his upside is on another planet. Passion for the game doesn't appear to be a problem since he plays with some good intensity. Definitely a developmental guy which would make me pause in the mid 2nd but hell if we took him there I'd be ok with it. He could be very special

I love Elder.  Great all around football player. Good Blitzer, physical....

Almost certainly a slot corner but I'd love him on the Ravens.

I'm really high on him but I haven't been able to get a real finger on what the league thinks of him.

Ive seen him anywhere from low 2nd to late 4th/5th.

Yeah I've seen that too. He's not my first choice in the second simply because we need a edge rushing OLB and he might not fit the mold without years of grooming, but like I said if we took him there I'd be excited for sure. After Myles Garrett I think his ceiling is in a 3 way tie for second with Tim Williams and Charles Harris, talking about purely edge rushing.

I really like Darius Rodgers WR from USC. He's a physical receiver and wins a lot of 50-50 balls. Doesn't have great speed but could be a good possession receiver in the NFL. Natural hands catcher.

Oh no, he's a day 3 pick. He's a senior and hasn't had much ball production as you'd like. He creates no separation in his breaks and lacks top end speed. He'll probably run a 4.5 or 4.6 at the combine. I just like his demeanor, physicality and strong hands. He could probably be a good special teams player as well. He reminds me a little of jalen strong. But without the production

He creates enough separation to do what he does best, box out, attack, and high point. And he does it very well. Juju looks a lot more like jaelen strong to me with the length and stiffness, rogers is more subtle and physical with super strong hands and great focus. Focusing on the traits and not the numbers I just like him and think he will do better in the NFL and for one simple reason: he's already proven he can consistently make catches without separation, in a league where the rules are far less favorable to the dbs. If he can make these catches in college I believe he can make them in the NFL too.

Adam shaheen tight end from Ashburn is an absolute monster. The guy is 6'6 and 280, something like that, but he moves so well. He actually looks pretty fast on tape. He's a guy you need to have your eye on at the combine.

I'm sure people know of him... but I haven't heard any buzz. #54 Dalvin Tomlinson Bama DT.

First saw him watching Tim Williams and Ryan Anderson and he just kept popping up.

Great leverage, anchor and power. High motor for a big man. Great pursuit. Could've gone to Harvard so really smart kid. Both parents have passed so he's overcome tragedy, really mature and self reliant. I really value that kind of thing. Kid knows how quickly you can lose something great in the blink of an eye. Don't think he'll take his NFL opportunity for granted.

I don't know where he's projected to go... but if we lose BWill I can see him stepping right in with Pierce.

Prob wouldn't take him in the 2nd or with our first 3rd just bc of need and who else I'm expecting to be available but if he's there late 3rd/4th I'd love him. If we lose BWill and he's projected 2nd or 3rd I may even consider him there.

I also like him but he's not a guy who's gonna play on passing downs so I think you're right that the very end of day 2 is the earliest we'd consider him

I see it as a potential like for like swap if BWill walks. Tomlinson becomes your run down thumper and block eater. Pierce can come in to play alongside him in some 4 man fronts, and then you play Pierce as your 3rd down guy.

I could definitely see us not skipping a beat if that's the case. Take Tomlinson with the comp 3rd potentially, or the 4th similar to where we got Bwill. Hopefully a very seamless transition.

But, if we sign Bwill to a big deal -- unfortunately i think he's gotta come off the board. There literally becomes no need for him at that point.

it's so late now that i don't think we are gonna be able to resign any of our free agents except maybe juice - it's so late in the process that the players can 100% wait a couple more weeks and dip their toe in free agency at which point they will be gone

That's one way to look at it. The other way is the fact that the heavy-lifting of contract negotiations usually takes place during the combine week, where the FO and agents are in the same place at the same time. Combine starts tomorrow.

The clock is ticking, though.

DJ Jones. Strong ,well balanced, flexible fast interior penetrator that is big and strong enough to play NT if needed. At NFL level he will need to pick a position to be most successful. NT or playmaker. He is a touch heavy for penetrating playmaker at 6'1 322. So he may want to get closer to 300 for that role. But we may need him at NT if we lose Williams. In that case he will be a very athletic and explosive NT. An absolute steal in round 4 if he is available.

I thought DJ Jones would run sub 5 at over 320lbs. I'm kinda happy he didnt. He would probably go in round2 then. I'm hoping we can get him round3. He could very well be better than Williams if we lose him. He will show Davis how a 320lb player should play! He can play NT  and disruptor/penetrator. This is a rare player and so far is very very underrated.

Tarik Cohen is a guy I came across a month or so ago and posted about him in the RB thread.

Hadnt heard anything about him anywhere until the combine but he posted good numbers.

If we're looking for that gamebreaking home run hitter he could be it with a late pick.

Hes way undersized but plays bigger than that. His cuts and change of direction are insane. He proved he's got long speed too at the combine.

His is maybe the most exciting tape I've watched to date. DJ seems to like him a lot too.

check him out.... would love him with our 6th rd pick.

I posted about Cohen in the RB thread too awhile back, and he could be great. He reminds me of Sproles.
