I just opened up the trade block thread.  Feel free to discuss in PMs now that everyone has a team.  We'll open an official trade and cut thread once we get our SoF plan situated, as nothing will become official until that happens.

@arnie_uk the Washington Redskins are in a pretty decent position and I contemplated taking them at 27.  However I was their GM two years ago so I decided to go in a different direction.  The Skins have over 50 million in cap space after draft picks, which they have 10 picks, none of which are compensatory picks.  They obviously need help on the defense and you'll need to franchise Kirk Cousins or go after a different qb, that's your choice.  

Anyway, I'm curious to see what you do.

Not yet.  Nothing will be official until the threads surface.  Just waiting on a few responses from the CoCo in regards to our State of the Franchise idea before we make anything official.

What's a good site to use for a team roster and their cap hit and savings made if they get cut on a phone. Spotrac doesn't give me the savings if cut

Just subtract cap hit-dead money and round to the nearest .5 star. They're right next to each other

This is why we're moving to OTC instead.*  OTC gives you the exact cap savings and we don't even have to ask people to do math other than simple rounding, which has arguably been the biggest problem in years past.

 

*I know I need to update the rules thread.  Just waiting on some decisions so I can do it all at once.

Sounds like a great opportunity for me to put my programming skills to work and create an application that automatically calculates these figures

It'll be pretty easy. Not sure I'll have time to make it look pretty but maybe. I actually may actually make this. Let me see how much time I have but if I have some free time I may do it this weekend

Alright sorry to confuse everyone but hold off of using OTC entirely.  As we were working on the SoF template, we found some pretty large inconsistencies in numbers.  It's looking like it might be back to Spotrac.  We were trying to make the math easier on people but that does us no good if the numbers are as wrong as they seem to be.

They aren't locked in for you? I would've thought that after you picked your team all changes do not affect you. I could be wrong.

Major ups to @-Truth- and @RavensFanMania for their hard work on the new, revolutionized version of the State of the Franchise where, get this... almost all of the math will virtually be done for you.  We're opting to convert to a Google Doc spreadsheet this year where all you have to do is input your signings, trades, etc. and the math will be done for you via pre-populated formulas.  Both of them worked tremendously hard on this and we think it will help manage the cap from both a member and management perspective a lot better.

In order to access the document, please send an email address via PM to either myself, Truth, or RFM.  Please don't everyone send them to me.  A guy can only take so many PMs lol

For working out stars for players we go of the cap number

When trading a player the buyer pays the base salary, the seller recieves back the cap savings
