I think it's fixable - between cap space and the draft they should be able to get better at QB. Watt coming back, too - it's like extra No 1 pick and that defense wasn't too shabby without him either

Houston is one of those teams with really great players and really mediocre players and not much between to me.

Yeah I'm in agreement. The Vikings were my number one choice since the beginning, but the Texans aren't a bad consolation prize. They're nearly the same but they have less bargaining chips. Plus they were a playoff team even without JJ Watt and solid QB play.

Quick question. The Jags signed a very odd contract with Beachum where it was an option for years two to five and I want to exercise that even if the real Jags don't (which is a month off, I'd imagine). How do I go about ensuring that Beachum is still a part of my team?

I just looked on overthecap who are pretty accurate with their guesses and they are not predicted any.

Was not counting on Compensation picks after earlier answer, bonus if we do get them.

Hope that team draft ends and then everything will be set.

Best guess - if he is on the JAX roster at the time we lock in, he's all yours. This is likely, since 2016 contracts end on 9th March, I believe.

Well, he currently counts toward the cap from all accounts I've seen and I want to keep him here regardless of real life, but like you said, once rosters are locked I guess he'll be here anyway.

Isn't there an option bonus attached?  We'll probably have to discuss this one since it's a bit of an oddity.  Thought I remember it being an option for 4 more years, but unsure of the amount.  It'll probably end up getting prorated and added to your cap, I assume.

I saw the cap hit at 8.5M when I looked it up. He has a 7.5M base and a 1M option bonus, so it all comes out at 8.5M. It doesn't mention anything about a signing bonus online, so I'm not sure at all.

Yeah it looks like you'd be good at 8.5, but we'll get a couple of heads together just to make sure.  Definitely one of the more confusing contracts out there.  Looks like that option bonus is already factored in for us which is a good thing.

I believe I'd be ok with a tender or transition tag being used.

It was one of the reason i was trying to find out what site we were going off as the two sites do differ sometimes on contracts, positioning and even which players i do have. 

Erving is either a G or C.

Gordon (commish exempt) is listed either still on team or RFA.

Good job i need 53 new players

Spotrac has him at 7.5 base + 1 bonus as well

I'm going off the 8.5M because that looked to be correct with the base salary and the option bonus, but we'll get it all figured out, I'm sure.

Looks like OTC is going to be the choice, but working to confirm that.  OTC has a cleaner look so we're leaning toward giving that a shot.  Trying to make the math as easy as possible on people.
