[News] Late For Work 2/6: Steve Smith's Amazing Retirement Idea For Tom Brady And Bill Belichick

68 posts in this topic

We already know that it's Brady that wouldn't be as good without Belicheck. Remember when Matt Cassel led the Patriots to an 11-5 record the year when Brady tore his ACL? Or how about this season when Belicheck went 3-1 with a couple of scrub backups while Brady served his suspension?

My guess is that Brady retires in 2-3 years and Belicheck continues to terrorize at least the AFC East by winning division titles for another 8-10 years after Brady is gone.

Lastly when are we going to get some more LoungePodCasts?
I look forward to those. I know its offseason but I thought were going to get 1 a week atleast or something.
Start talking draft and possible free agent moves

They missed the first week after the season ended because they were busy with the end of season presser and they also skipped the week before last because one was at Pro Bowl and the other was at Senior Bowl, but they resumed last week and are recording again today. Their plan is to stick to weekly.

I don't know who or what happen in the Pats locker room but you can tell they were fired up coming out of the half more than Falcons. I would have love to hear that speech or who they were.. I don't think the Falcons will ever recover from that. I guess Kyle Shanahan not on the Ravens Radar any more.

Shanahan would've been the best thing to happen to flacco and the ravens

If the Patriots only played in a REAL division like the AFCN.

I'm 100% sure they were 4-0 against our division this year....

Its not about this year. It's that they get home field adv. every year through the playoffs cuz their division is always crap. Seems like the only competition they've had the past 12 years is when Sanchez was the qb for the jets lol!

I'm tired of people wanting these great quarterbacks to retire on top. Manning, Brady, Ben...I don't want them to retire with smiles on their faces. I want us to beat them every year that they retire because they know it will be a cold day in hell when they can come into M&T Bank stadium in the playoffs and beat us (I know Manning is already retired).

Stop begging for Brady to retire and beat him. Put a team together that can win. This is getting sickening. There is no reason we can't compete with the Patriots year in and year out. Get some real coaches. The Patriots roster is no more talented than our roster, they just have a better coach. The Ravens need to kick it into gear.

I agree. Comparing the Patriots roster to ours, aside from the QB position and with healthy J. Smith in the lineup, they had no position group that was clearly better from ours this year. Which makes our blunder (or their SB victory) that much more impressive.

And when going back in time, I think in 2014 we actually had a better team than them. So there has definitely been no deficit between us talent wise. It has been all coaching and then some adequate QB play.

Agree 100%. Coaching has been our demise. I couldn't even believe how bad it was this year. And that was just one week, and I'd think....OK, that game was a fluke right??? Harbaugh must've just been really drunk or something...O well, no way that could happen again.....then seeing the same problems week, after week, after week, after week.......after week. I realized there was a serious drinking problem going on. LOL jk but yeah. I agree 100% Patriots have the best coaching year in and year out, and our is below average. Especially offensively...jeez. Can't believe we didn't go after Shanahan. Instead he agrees to coach the worst team in the NFL. I think he would've chosen the Ravens instead. Would've been the best thing for Flacco

I agree so much. I would way rather beat Brady in the playoffs than Trevor Simien or Alex Smith. Our coaching is sad. The patriots is the best year in and year out and it's not even close. Bummer we didn't grab Shanahan when the timing was perfect. Steve blew it

GREAT. The Seahawks have the best bruising back I'll ever see in my life. They need one yard to win the SB. They throw. The patriots win
The Falcons are up 28-3 at half and the Patriots win
Now Brady and Bellicheck have 5 SBs and it's hard to argue they aren't the best ever instead of Brady losing 4 in a row ^. I'll say they certainly own the NFL right now. I'll saw those 3 flags too ConquerorWorm, and thought the same thing. It was still 28-3 though. The pats have been just about dominating for the past 15 years. Which is disgusting. Whether they bend the rules, or even deflate a ball here or there, there's no denying they do what they can to win. And Brady is passionate about winning and preparing to the max to win. Do I want them to retire.....UM NO! Let's beat them. That just can't happen without good coaching. Average coaching would even be a start. We also can't beat BRADY with defenders on the field that shouldn't start on ANY NFL team (Wright, Elam). That's just asinine, and truly unbelievable. At times I seriously wondered if the Ravens were trying to lose with coaching decisions that were taking place.....I was wondering if the mob was holding one over on them. We would've been picking 4th in the draft without Tucker this year. At best. Everyone's hair should be on fire this offseason. Can't wait to see the moves. The best would be a surprise coaching staff replacement. lol. Really though. I hope we make solid moves this offseason. I'm ready for the first time we meet the Patriots next year to be in the playoffs......hopefully in the AFC Championship game. It all starts soon

I'm done "hating" on the Pats. That comeback was insane. Brady is the GOAT, hands down. To do what he's done at that age and always with a bunch of no-names, is just ridiculous. We can call them cheaters, or say they're in a weak division; and even state that the Falcons play calling late was atrocious; but the results show that we're witnessing the greatest football of our time. It really, REALLY pains me to admit it, as I hate the Pats; but I have to tip my hat, and concede: Brady is the greatest of all time.

have to agree with you. they are the best. seems they become even better when fingers are pointed towards them or accused of wrong doing. they have a blueprint and have stuck to it. ravens need to decide what type of team they want to be and stick with that philosophy

agreed. Brady is now the best. Might've been before this too. I give a little bit more credit to Bellicheck though. He's outrageous. Their defense never gets credit until there's only a couple teams left, and O look, the pats d is number 1 or 2 all the sudden. How much they score without ever getting Brady playmakers. Aside from Gronk. Outrageous. I almost stopped myself from typing it cuz I don't even want to imagine it, but can you imagine if AP went there this summer? I'm just going to hope/assume the football gods aren't that evil. I doubt they will, and don't know if it would be worth it to trade up, but Fournette and Defense sound like a nice Identity. I like Flacco's play action, esp. coming off a fake to Fournette. You're right, they need to pick something and stick to it
