[News] Late For Work 2/1: Do You Respect Patriots? Ray Lewis Gets Loud Cheers With Answer

20 posts in this topic

I think I might be rooting for the Patriots this Sunday... I hate to see them win, but something about having the "Big Bad" proving they are still the team to beat makes it that much sweeter when we do take them down.

Plus, I really don't like Matt Ryan, even though I don't have any basis for that feeling.

Ray Lewis is Mr. Baltimore! We're all grateful and proud because of it. He'll remain the face of this franchise retired or otherwise. However, it is up to the Ravens front office, coaching staff and defensive players to make sure that defensive aura surrounding us never fades. Are you listening Harbaugh? We are not a high flying passing team (we've tried it and failed miserably). Don't ever contaminate the Ravens identity ever. Defense wins championships at least when we win I would like it to be that way!

Basis is simple. If you like Flacco you can't help but dislike Ryan. I harbor the same sentiments but my hate for the Patriots far exceeds my dislike of Ryan.

I like Matt Ryan he's cool. I would hate to see people gloating about Brady winning another ring. I would not vote for the Pats can't stand them. Let Matt Ryan win one.

I'm rooting for the Falcons on Sunday mainly because I don't like the Pats, and I'm a fan of underdog stories and I have no issues against Matt Ryan.

Same here. I have no issues with the Falcons, nor Matt Ryan. And like you, I hate the Pats with a passion.

I am with you but I am afraid that the Defense under Dean Pees will always be that passive bend but don't break mentality (except if always breaks in the fourth quarter).

Hard to have a fearsome defense with the defensive philosophy is a very passive one! I would love to see us getting back to our defensive identify and breaking teams will with our defense.

Heck... we used to win games with our defense alone. I just cannot envision that under Dean Pees. I am with you... would love to get back to having a fearsome defense (but we may need to get rid of Pees for that to happen)!

actually Dean Pees defense does a really good job until the last 2 minutes of the half and the 4th quarter. We need somebody to instill confidence in the individual players. We need a leader (player) who can do that.

In my opinion, the defense was aggressive early in the season, when Jimmy Smith was in the game. Without our top cornerback, Pees did loosen the D to make up for the drop in coverage skills in the secondary. That change also affected our ability to stop the run.

You could see it on the screen and the defense's rating against the pass and run.

I have to disagree. The players looked to be worn out. His job is to keep them rotating in so they are still "fresh" in the late part of games. IMO he failed badly at that. The rest of the game the D plays strong. The EOG's not so much

Funny all those commentating on "pats" and "respect". To be respected you have to first have and display honor. Cheating is not honorable and never will be. There is no debate to be had. They should have asked is Brady honorable? I think I can guess why they did not ask.

But in case a pats fan comes across this, consider this. Brady is supposedly one of the best to play qb ever so people say, yet the teams he was a part of have been in more cheating scandals than any other team i can remember. Most of all of these scandals all had to do with the offense having some edge, as if helping brady out.

I will never have respect for cheaters, not limited to brady/pats, especially when they try to hide the fact after being caught. Had he actually just been up front about it, i would be willing to look past it, people make mistakes. There is however no free pass, for anyone who blatantly and deliberately goes about undermining the integrity of the game and of themselves.

Agree 100%.

The scandals - Spygate, Deflategate, opponents headsets not working, fire alarms at hotel, etc.

The rule changes - Tuck Rule, Brady rule, Defenseless WR rule, Goal Post rule, reporting eligible rule, etc

The whining after plays, the coward kick to Ed Reed, etc

Not too mention Brady leaving his pregnant girlfriend for a supermodel.....

Good on Ray. Also, it's already been said, but if the Ravens were truly committed to winning next season, we wouldn't be keeping either of our coordinators. Harb's behind better be on the "hot seat" finally, I'll say that.

Once a cheater, always a cheater. I can't trust anything you say or do. I hope the Falcons wipe the Patriots off the map Sunday.
