[News] Scouting The 2017 Senior Bowl: Inside Linebackers

I dont know any of these guys outside of Ben Boulware.

I wouldnt mind him as a late round pick or undrafted free agent. I heard some scouts say what Mink just said. Undersized, 6 ft and does he have nfl level speed?

But if hes a 5rnd pick through undrafted F/A its not as risky.

The guys Im more interested in, and I have seen pop up in connection to Ravens in recent mocks since Orr retirement.

16th pick would have to be. Lock stud, Ruben Foster Bama ilbr.
Imagine having Mosley and Foster 2 studs. That would be like
Kuechly and Davis or Bowman and Willis before Willis retired.

Other guy who also could be stud 2nd to 3rd rnd projection Raekwon McMillon OSU ilbr

How 'bout a legit D lineman who can actually put pressure on the QB?

In a 3-4 defense, d-lineman's primary responsibilities are gap control and tying up O-lineman so that the OLB get 1 on 1 matchups to get pressure on the QB. Sacking the QB is a lower priority. That's what made Ngata a very rare and very valuable player because he's was able to do all 3 at a very high level. It's what makes the Ravens so good against the run and it's also why Kubiak's system was pretty bad in Denver against the 3-4 division foes (Denver's run game was as bad as the Ravens last year). It's also why BWill, despite the lack of sacks, is so important to the defense and worth $8-10 million per year.

n#7, I agree they need Dline. They need pass rush most of all. I think they want to and are going to try to retain B.Williams, now if that price gets too high were going to find out how much they really like Pierce,Carl Davis, Willie Henry.
They will either ride or dies with that group. I dont think so, or find a NT/DT via draft or cheap vet in F/a maybe a Wilfork type on couple year deal to help vs run

The Ravens ILB's have evolved into a glorified SS. I mean really as a fan of where the Ravens D once was to now, yes we have changed at that position. That being said we need a coverage MLB that can be a thumper, Ryan Shazier is a fantastic drag down tackler who is athletic. I would love the Ravens to get away from that and get a instinctive thumper like a Denzel Perryman. He's athletic enough to cover but wants to knock u out in the backfield. I see Anthony Walker Jr. worthy of a mid round pick and I do like Ben Boulware worth a late round pick. This is not a high priority depending on the front office perception of Correria and Onowossur.

Letting BWill go would not even be close to an option if we didn't come up with Pierce. Pierce is a stud, and cheap, so it makes things a little more interesting. I had higher hopes for Henry and Davis though. Absolutely zero production in 3 years combined. If we don't resign BWill, the money better be going towards a stud like Wagner, or Berry, or Gilmore.

I worry about Davis. We are going to really need him next year if BWill isnt resigned. I think he can turn into a solid player if he puts the work in. But I worry because hes been away from the team for so long and one of the knocks on him coming in was that he didn't have a great work ethic. Hopefully my concerns are unfounded. If he works on his strength and learns to keep his pad level low, he could be a heck of a player.
