He would be a good fit for the Ravens... might even impart some of his attitude into some of our players.

I think that it would be very difficult for an all world superstar hall of fame player like Ray to be a coach. There is no doubt that he can teach anybody the game, however it would be torture for him to stand there and watch players under perform while he is helplessly standing on the sideline.

Remember Michael Singletary. It just ate him up.

I think he would be great for football, hopefully Baltimore,The Ravens, The fans and but most of all the Players. Of course, that is only my opinion as a huge fan af Ray Lewis and The Baltimore Ravens. I wish him luck if he were to pursue this idea, hopefully it would be very fruitful and rewarding.

If Ray is ever going to coach NFL football, it has to be with HIS team, the team he made, the Ravens. A defense led by a DC Ray, or better yet, a future Baltimore TEAM led by Ray Lewis, the franchise's greatest player? Yes. That is the best possible option. In fact, just for the hell of it, give me a team with HC Ray Lewis, and DC Ed Reed. I'm sold. Sorry Harbs.

If he consider being a certain type of coach or coordinater, the Ravens should be first in line. Have have to bring Ray on board.

Linebacker coach and then DC. Come on Ray. Come back home and lead these men.

I think that's the route for him. He said he wasn't ready to commit to the time required of coaching immediately after he stopped playing, as he wanted to spend time with his kids. Now that they are grown, and he's proven he's not a good everyday TV analyst, he'll have to do something.

When he's in the zone, and commits to something, he's a bit of a warrior-monk (like Ed). He will outwork any coach or player in preparing for a game. The challenge will be effectively translating what he knows (and his instincts) to lesser players.

IF he does decide to coach, let's just hope Ray decides to re-join the Ravens. Ed Reed spent nearly his entire career with the Ravens but then decided to coach for the Bills (Thanks, Ed). I do think, however, that if Ray Lewis joined the Ravens that would be enough to convince Reed to re-join the Ravens, especially since Rex is no longer in Buffalo. But talk is cheap and first thing's first- I'll only believe Ray Lewis wants to coach when I see him on the sidelines.

There's no way of knowing how good a coach Ray would turn out to be - but at least you could be sure that no man on the Ravens roster would even dream of daring to give less than 150% in any game, even meaningless ones - so insulting performancels like the one Week #17 would never occur :)

Players underperform knowing Ray Lewis would be waiting for them at the sideline after a poor play?

Cannot see that happen :)

I agree that it would be hard for Ray to be a coach. There's just something about being one of, if not THE, best at your position. It's hard for someone like that to be a coach. They expect everyone to play the game like they did, but it's impossible. I'd love to see Ray here as a linebackers coach or a defensive assistant. If nothing else, maybe he could give them some of that fire that he has had his entire life.

ray is too much of a superstar to coach under someone like harbs, just doesnt fit the mold. it would be awesome for him to come back, but i dont see it. plus like others have said, he would be on the sidelines watching players who are nowhere near his level and it would piss him off. he would try to teach this that and the other thing, but instincts cant be taught, so when hes on the sidelines dissecting plays and his players arent seeing the game the same way hes gonna have trouble.

now i think he would be a lot more of a players coach than mike singletary, hes a lot more personable, singletary is just too old school, but i think it would be a difficult transition for ray.

If Ray does decide to accept a coaching position it should, without a doubt, be with the Ravens. I've read on here countless times that Harbaugh would not want him on his staff, and I actually agree with that line of thinking. Then get rid of Harbaugh. I mean that. Either that, or this would be the one time that Biscotti should go against his normal philosophy of staying "hands off" and letting his coach make all those type decisions. There is nothing wrong with giving your HC an ultimatum. Biscotti owns this team and there would be nothing wrong with him telling Harbs that he wants this guy to work for him, that he wants him on his team, that he wants to hire him. Deal with it Harbs. If Biscotti thinks that Ray would make an excellent coach, as I do, then he should want him working for him. He was right when he wanted Ozzie to move up in the draft for Matt Ryan, but he let Ozzie persuade him that Flacco was our guy. Ozzie HATES to give up draft choices. We all know that. I think that played into his decision to settle for Flacco instead of going after the best QB coming out that year. But, to see Ray coaching for Any other team in the NFL would be awful and, even, painful. I've read on here that Ray would not have enough patience with players that couldn't be as good as he was. Well, I don't think so. Even Ray realizes that there will be very, very, Very few that Ever do, if Any would. Give him his chance here where he should Always belong. Ray is the Ultimate Raven. I do NOT want to see him with Any other team.

Would love to see Ray and a few more former Ravens walking the sidelines! They won't leave like the others! Lol
