[News] Late For Work 1/25: Anyone Buying Big Ben Retiring? Colts Want Eric DeCosta

45 posts in this topic

I don't know who made our draft picks in the past 5 years, but if it was Ozzie, then he needs to go, and if it was Eric, then he needs to go. The past 5-6 draftd have been really bad- I don't know why people think our GMs are still that good.

Sure, ask some of the women he's assaulted how "nice" a guy he is...He's the steriotypical jock who thinks he is better than everybody else. Listen to not only how he speaks, but his reactions to media questions. He feel's he's above the "common" people. Arrogant jerk, period. He pretends injuries like no other QB, because he want's all the attention focused on him. And as for concussions, he had the fewest times sacked last year in his career. Look it up. Just more melodrama from someone who has to have the attention on himself, rather than answer why his team couldn't beat the Pat's and contend for another Super Bowl.

Fewest times sacked doesn't always equal fewest concussions, bud. Plus a concussion can happen from a QB hit too.

I still like to know whose idea it was that thought Perriman be picked number one. By the time he becomes close to being a receiver in the nfl Ravens will have to decide to give him the big bucks or walk. Also, who ever is deciding these contracts needs to read the book Art of the the Deal. Theres no way I would have made Jimmy the second highest player on the team 2017.

It would be great if Ben & Brady retired. Add in the fact that the Bell, Brown, Shazier, Villanueva, Tuitt, Timmons and the rest of the WR corps are going to be free agents this year and next and they'll either be gone or the Squealers will be in serious salary cap hell....

Ben is not retiring. Brady is not retiring, he loves the game and competition unlike our qb. The Steelers will easily keep Bell, Brown, and Villanueva. Prob Shazier too. They have a ton of cap space. Tuitt and Timmons can be replaced. The rest of their wr corps was the problem for them, lol. Sorry bud, the Ravens have to get better, not other teams worse. LOL

I think a lot of people put too much credence in where a football player was drafted.

considering that's how teams are built, I disagree

I don't want them to retire. I want us to actually put a competitive team on the field year after year and compete with them for the Lombardi. The AFC championship game winner which features, Brady, Ben and Manning since 2001 has me sick (I know Manning retired). Flacco has one appearance. That's pathetic. We have to be better.

If I were DeCosta, I would be gone. Nothing against Baltimore, but I think it is a better situation. He has the chance to put a team together around a great young quarterback. Luck will be around for at least another 10 years. That would be an accomplishment. If your desire is to build franchises into winning organizations, that's a great start. Baltimore is already a great organization.

They are projected to be 40 mil under the cap next year so they're not in a pickle just yet.

Unfortunately, your absolutely right. To a GM, the colts situation is so desirable. You don't have to worry about finding a quality QB and they have a lot of cap space to make your mark as a GM.

I really hope Decosta weighs all his options then decides that working for Bischotti is 100 times better than working for an unpredictable maniac like Irsay.

If I were DeCosta, I'd bail and get to the top of his profession now. The NFL is fading more each year. You gotta' go for the $$ and the control. Irsay may die soon and leave the team to his ex-wife anyhow.

Its very possible Luck has peaked and he might struggle like 75% of most NFL professionals after 5 years. So don't get too excited about leveraging a mans career on another guys success. Geez i mean, hopefully not but, what if there was an accident or injury or something

As far as DeCosta and Oz, why in the heck would he leave now? He has spent the past 5+ years learning everything he could to take the GM spot for the Ravens. Oz knows it, he knows it, Bisciotti knows it, heck the entire NFL world knows it. They are just treating OZ good, that's all, its a simple round table atmosphere at the castle.

Ben is feeling his age after tough physical games and once he gets back to thinking about another trip to the big show, he will be suiting up again. He does seem to be showing his age now, but can still get the job done. I would enjoy seeing him throw in the "terrible" towel though. What Raven fan wouldn't?
