What excites you most about the Ravens entering next season?

It's gotta be Dixon for me. Watching him progress as the year went along, watching him consistently breaking tackles and almost never going down on first contact, gets me pretty pumped to see what he can do with his rookie season under his belt. If we beef up the Oline and perhaps get a decent center in here after watching Zuttah regress, he can have a stellar year next season. I truly don't understand the buzz for another running back. If Dixon and West aren't consistently being hit in the back field I do believe they'd break more long runs. I think we need to focus this offseason on other needs.

U do know that injuries have been killing us over years, don't u?

if we want to win next season, legimate back ups are a must...

what excites me most is healthy Joe and O-line...

well we played Dixon an d he did some good things. 4.3 avg isn't bad. not sure its playmaker good though. think he could have a better year

at this moment I'm not excitedly about any current players. hopeful jimmy smith comes back and stays healthy but standin pat doesn't feel good with our crop of players.  suggs hurt his arm but he seemed to fall off this year.  joe is joe.

I think our year depends on catchin fire in the draft otherwise standin pat look for more of the same next year.

Injuries are a part of football. Why is that relevant to my post?

If I am being honest, it is Joe.
I really feel like this summer is going to be a brainstorming session to get things in place to help Joe excel.

I think our RB tandem is solid. It doesn't need tweaking let them share carries and wear guys down. We could use a playmaker at tight end though. But if this o line can just do it's job in the run game and one chain mover at wide receiver there should not be any holes in our offense.

If we keep Wagner then I'll go with the offensive line. I think Lewis improves and Stanley has a true breakout year. I also expect the new C addition would be a boost.

perriman with a full offseason and coming in healthy and in football shape rather than rehab shape, getting some actual developmental reps rather than trying to master the playbook, getting to be a top target rather than an afterthought in the playbook because hes stuck behind 2 high performing veterans. seriously, my hype for perriman is at an all time high, even more than seeing him week 1 this year, i expected a very slow start and possibly thought i would even be disappointed, but his presence was felt and he outperformed my expectations and now im expecting a big leap and i cant wait.

dixon who was my 2nd favorite back of the draft and i had him as an early 2nd round talent, and he played like a man possessed once he got healthy and caught some steam. hoping marty feeds him the rock because he is probably the best talent out of all of our offensive skill players.

cautiously excited about maxx williams, really hoping he can get healthy and break out.

matt judon and tavon young, these guys could be special. if judon can get his conditioning better he is gonna be an excellent 3 down player.

I'm hyped for Perriman and Dixon. I think both guys are going to be great for this offense.

I am very VERY excited about Perrimen for next season. He has to feel like a weight is on his shoulders right now. I want him to become a big part of the offense and succeed. Would be great for us and huge for him.

Free agency and the draft... the draft I am excited for it.  I am hopeful we a game changing playmaker.  I am honestly not excited for next season I will watch all 16 games like I have done now for 10 years but I will be more excited if Ravens get new faces that will be day 1 starters.

I'm excited for the "complementary" wide receiver that isn't on the roster yet. I say if you add a Brandon Marshall type guy to this team, watch it flourish. This offense had its best years with Anquan Boldin moving the chains, and Marshall is a 6'4 version of that.

What excites me about next year is that the team's nucleus -- Joe, Harbs, and Ozzie -- are all under fire.

In a regime that hates change and constantly looks into the past for solutions in the future, Harbaugh and Ozzie are going to have to do some soul searching to find out what we will do differently to remain competitive.

Ozzie's blueprint has failed us in recent years. He still wants to build around massive defensive tackles and the LB position -- roles that are increasingly insignificant. He seems to have caught on, opting to draft athletic freaks like Willie Henry, Kamalei Correa, and Bronson Kaufusi, but those guys may not pan out. Regardless of that, I think Ozzie knows he's under fire, and he's making changes in his approach.

What I think is problematic is that our personnel department, coordinators, and head coaches never seem to be on the same page. We're constantly drafting guys that don't fit what we're trying to do, and we're constantly using schemes that don't fit the guys we have. I'm not sure who needs to adjust -- personnel or coaches -- but to remain competitive, someone has to. I look forward to seeing Harbaugh under fire, to see how the team's approach changes this year. Will we commit to an identity? Under fire, Harbaugh may find it, and I suspect he'll run back to the power running game and defense that made us one of the best franchises from 08-14. Hopefully, we get the personnel that match the schemes.

And Joe, well, I love Joe under fire. He plays his best ball under fire. He has to know that, if 2017 is a bust, we'll be drafting a QB in the top three rounds of the 2018 draft, and letting Joe go when his contract expires.

What excites me is that we have some continuity schematically, but some changes at the position coach level. As much as I love Juan Castillo has a teacher of the game, I'm looking forward to seeing an offensive line under someone else's leadership. I don't think he was the problem per se, but the offensive line is getting a fresh look this year, having lost the OL coach and the asst. OL coach. An all new OL coaching staff could bring welcome changes.

I dont think the Front Office is as confident in our running backs as you guys are.

Hopefully the OL. Meaning we retain Wagner, Lewis gets even better and we get a new C in the draft. We've all seen what Joe and our running game can do with a strong OL. Actually any team.

Agree with Perriman, Judon, Maxx, and Dixon. I'm going to go with improvement of run game, the 2017 rookie class, and delveopment of 2016 class.

The 2016 class can go down as our best draft ever. Stanley at LT. Correa at ILB. Tavon Young at CB. Dixon at RB. Judon at OLB. Alex Lewis at guard. Then, imangine if Kafusi and Henry can contribute...that is a young nucleus that's looking great.

We draft a legit center and CB, and a high cieling pass rusher. Sign FA WR and now ILB and I'm feeling reaaaal good.

im excited for stanley to kick on and to see if mosley can get even better - i feel like those are two gems who i really like watching play - tavon young gets me revved up - the way he plays is always so exciting

i really am excited about the line for next year if we really are changing style a little bit - we have 2 great pieces, and 1 good one already set for next year

Very bold statement considering we drafted Ogden and Ray in one draft......I am curious

The 2017 NFL Draft!:baltimore-ravens:

Since, we did so well in last years draft , especially, last year's fourth round (We really did our homework there). I'm looking how we can one-up that performance. Hopefully, we look scrupulosity at the top 100 players expected in this year's draft. Hitting on the top picks could put us back on top.

Our scouting mindset should be : We need to pick pro bowlers, every single round.

I'm excited for building the best offensive line in the NFL. I can't wait to see how Oz and company fulfills this statement. I'm also excited to see that they fully realize we need help with the following positions: receiver, defensive backfield, and pass rushing. All positions fans have scrutinized over the last few years.

I think it is driven almost completely by the out of this world performance by Elliot this season. People see a player just blast onto the scene and suddenly they think their team should have one too. Of course, the foundation for his performance was laid by years of drafting a world-class O line. I've heard it said that Dixon is serviceable, but we need an explosive threat. Sounds great - but exactly what will we need to do to get that explosive back and will he be all that explosive if our O line performs the way it did this past year?

So - I agree completely. I think Dixon should be our primary option in the backfield and we expend resources to get better up front. People sometimes forget we can't have it all and need to understand if we make getting a (potentially) more dynamic an RB, that will leave another issue unaddressed.

I suspect a lot of our newer posters have no clue who Ogden is and what he meant to this team.  Damn turf toe!

True. I welcome the younger (assuming) fans though like I'm sure you do.

I do love helping raise the next generation of Ravens fans.  Sometimes I wish everyone would remember they were all new once, though.  People are not always as kind to noobs as they should be.

It took us this long to find a good replacement for him. So yeah lol

were there similar ratings systems in 97? that was ogdens second year, but first as a LT. i would LOVE to see a week by week breakdown of them side by side with level of competition mentioned. aside from his return game against the steelers stanley was undoubtedly a stud and he played like a guy whos gonna be a top 3 LT in the league for the next decade.

Nothing... honestly, for the first time...Nothing. The news about the coaching staff returning kind of ruined the happiness for me. Maybe i'll change my tune after the draft.
