Desmond King willing to play safety, thinks Ravens are perfect fit

King is so hard to judge, I think we already have a solid guy in Young, but I think he could take over at FS or force Weddle to play center while he played SS.

On some big boards, I've seen King as a top 10-15 player, but on others they don't even have him in the top 50. I guess it will all depend on what teams envision him to be.

If we traded back into the 20s and accumulated an extra third round pick, I would potentially make that move then, unless a better outside corner or rusher was available. If not, I'd target him big time if he makes it into round 2

I certainly agree that Desmond King would be a solid addition for the Ravens. I see him as more of a safety but he does have the versatility to play corner. He would be very helpful in the nickel and dime packages.

Versatility is key. It is much easier to ask a college corner, especially one that was used in a more zone based scheme to play as a safety then it is to ask a college safety, such as Elam, to come down and play the slot.

King has top-tier ball skills, instincts and is a great tackler. Plus, he is also very physical so we continue to build on our Ravens culture.

Daeshon Hall apparently doing well, sort of gets forgotten since he played opposite Garrett

Really surprised that Zay Jones has apparently looked as good as he has, I really didn't like him just watching tape, mainly because it felt like  99% of his catches were just comebacks routes, but it would appear that ECUs system should shoulder a lot of the blame if he keeps looking good and has a good game.

Poorly handled by Lewis, an NFL QB makes that throw, that should have been a TD

And Garcia is a guy I have as a legit prospect, too.

I think King or Sutton out of Tennessee would be awesome picks if they happen to fall to the 3rd round. Only way we take them in the 2nd is if we can't get the edge rusher we want when it's time to pick. We can have either of them learn how to play safety behind Weddle and when Webb becomes a cap casualty or retires, we can just plug them right in. We need to start drafting guys with ball skills, speed and the size we covet while we have veterans who can and are willing to teach them how to play the position. Lesley Frazier still being here would have obviously accelerated their translation from college to the NFL, but I think we draft either of them and have them study.

With regards to our first pick, Quincy Wilson out of Florida needs to be our first pick regardless of the available running backs on the board when we pick. Our second round pick needs to be a pass rusher if one is available, if not draft another defensive back, King or Sutton. We had the slowest secondary in the entire NFL last season and we need speedsters with ball skills back there. I'm not under valuing tackling because you obviously need a sure tackler, but ball skills are hard to teach and speed can not be taught.

Zay Jones, Cooper Kupp, and to a lesser extent Trent Taylor have been dominating CB/WR 1v1s, some of the North team's CBs are noteworthy too, Jourdan Lewis, Desmond King, and Rasul Douglas amongst them.

It would appear that Douglas actually IS in attendance today, struggled early but is doing better. One thing you can say about Douglas is that he may be the best in the class at defending those crossing routes, and he isn't as susceptible to double moves as one would expect with a guy that plays crosses so well.

I haven't watched much of him, anyone have any thoughts about him?

I've watched none of him, but I've heard he's being looked at as the S/LB hybrid

How do you play that off and still let him go by you

Haason Riddick who I mentioned earlier is tearing up the senior bowl so far. He can rush the passer and cover anywhere, his speed sets him apart. Can play outside and inside linebacker He's a first rounder and a possible target for the ravens.

People are still raving about Ryan Switzer's route running ability and how clean his cuts are, keeps this up and you can stop hoping we snag him late 3rd/ early 4th. The guy continues to look like a star slot prospect and is as good a punt returner as anyone.

He's the prototypical 4-3 OLB. He reminds me of what we wanted Upshaw to be.

He can play either. He can play inside in our 3-4 and just let him fly around the feild. He can be a great Blitzer, cover guy, and can put his hand in the dirt if you want. Our defense would be so much faster with him on the feild. The guys a menace. Why did you compare him to Upshaw? Upshaw has no twitch, Riddick is all twitch, he honestly reminds me of Ryan shazier except with the ability to play outside

Tanoh Kpassagnon just beat Jon Toth in one on ones, for a guy that's 6'7" he can get some good leverage at times - inconsistent, though - and from a smaller school guy he does have a couple pass rush moves.

Evan Engram might as well just be listed at WR at this point, that's more or less how he's being used out there.

Apparently Cam Sutton is really impressing at safety/nickel.

Alex Anzalone impressing with some sneaky speed, classic STer traits with potential to be more

Most of the RBs are impressing, especially Kareem Hunt. Corey Clement impressing with his blocking ability. On the flip side, pretty much none of the QBs have looked particularly good today.

Chad Williams, WR, Grambling St. has started to come on strong day 2 - I don't remember him being on original SB rosters, maybe he was called up after someone was injured. He just got into it with Miami safety Jenkins, punches thrown and all.

I didn't know, but apparently Douglas really turned his day around and ended up as one of the most impressive on the day.

LA Tech WR Trent Taylor was also impressive in the slot, made some great moves.

Yes I mentioned him in the pass rusher thread a few weeks ago and no one said anything. I don't think he'll go first round and should be available for us in the second. He's tape vs Memphis is amazing.

Ya I think I saw the post and kind of read past it but the senior bowl has caught my eye on him. I saw the Memphis tape too. He is relentless, just a non stop motor.

I'm waiting to see jalen Robinette from air force make a name for himself. I like what I see on tape. His production is through the roof for a wide out on a triple option team. 27 yards per catch is amazing

Really impressed with Cooper Kupp so far. His on field performance was excellent getting in and out of his breaks so clean, while winning at every level all while looking so smooth and polished.

However it was his interview that I was most impressed with. He seems to really love the hard work required to be great and has the mindset that he'll never be good enough so keep working hard. Both on and off the field he sounds like a great fit for the Ravens.

I'm really impressed with him as well. For a 23 year old he's really seems quite mature and he's already married so that might even be a solid indicator of his maturity as well. I seen some say that he may be a slot receiver but I think he can do it all and I love his toughness and how he runs polished routes.

Lol 23 is kinda old coming out of college. We're getting rookies at 20-21 years old. But ya I love kupp, i just hope he isn't doing too well for himself and getting out of our reach for the second round

Yeah that was the only negative I had towards him but I would still take him even though he will be like 28 by the time his rookie contract is up .

Cooper Kupp has done well at the senior bowl and would look at him. He looks a lot like Doug Baldwin to me. It is always a gamble to draft a person from a smaller school but he does so well at controlling his body and making catches with his hands.

To me he is probably the #2 WR this draft behind Mike Williams. I just see so much AJ Green in Mike Williams... Those two are the only two wide receivers I would touch in the first round.

Neither one works for the Ravens in round 1. Williams doesn't posses speed to make him a stud # 1 guy. Kupp is a slot guy in the NFL. The Ravens are chocked full of slot guys at best. Davis is probably the only guy worth a thought in the first if they would even entertain the idea..JuJu in the second sounds well positioned to me for a WR. Odds are they pull that get cute stunt and wait until round 6 for a dud from east nowhere.

Speed doesn't make you a stud #1 WR and if any team is foolish enough to pass on Williams because of it they'll be sorry. Now I'm not saying he's a sure fire stud but if speed is the only thing you'd use as a basis to pass on him I think it'd be a huge mistake. Guys like AJ Green, Deandre Hopkins, Dez Bryant Josh Gordon and I can continue to name some other up and coming studs in the NFL, don't win on speed but you can't deny they are studs. Williams is a guy that can win on every level and will cause defenses to game plan to stop him, that's about all you can ask for from any WR. Guys like Juilo, Calvin and Fitz are rare.

Even if Kupp is viewed as a slot WR, which I think he can do well outside, the Ravens need WRs who can create separation quick and get RAC yards. Kupp would easily be the best route runner on the team, with a pair of consistent hands and probably the most polished WR the Ravens would have next season. It's not a matter of where guys line up, it's about how guys can produce for this offense.

I personally wouldn't touch JuJu until the 3rd round. Not much about him really stands out to me personally. I'm sure a lot of people love him but he wouldn't be a target for me that high in the 2nd.
