[News] Steve Bisciotti On NFL's Ratings: Fix Commercials

34 posts in this topic

Why NFL is losing viiewers?
- Commericials and more importantly, ridiculously length play reviews that spawn more commericials.
-Commercials even when it is not commercial break. I am sick of hearing about season of Two Broke Girls. Explain the game, instead of wasting my time.
- Commentators just go overboard on certain select players, playing for certain select teams. I am sick of the coronation of Tom Brady and the Patriots every year.

If it weren't for the invention of the DVR to speed thru the commercials, I wouldn't even watch any more. It is impossible to get into the football zone. Soccer isn't as exciting, but at least I can relax into watching the game.

Agreed. That and RedZone Channel make it tolerable. Who has 3 1/2 hours of time to watch a 60 minute game (with 22 minutes of real action)?

Besides commercials, the amount of flags being thrown is driving me nuts. Every big play now I wait to react, given there's a 50/50 chance it'll be called back. Way too many rules. And replay reviews should be done centrally and take 30 seconds. Rugby has that figured out and they let you hear the discussion between ref and review booth which gives great insight into why calls are made.
