RIP David Modell

Thank you for all you did for Baltimore.

David was only 55 and passed from lung cancer.

One of the favorite pictures I have is of David and me holding the first Lombardi together.  He personally took that trophy to nearly every Nest and Roost function for months so that fans could touch it.

Here's the Official statement from the Ravens.

David was a man who knew how important we fans are to this team. Thank you David for helping to bring this franchise here and making us champions again.

Same here, he took the time to speak at our Ravens Nest Function in Bowie on the way to an engagement in Washington, DC.  If you see the 30 for 30 "The Band that Wouldn't die" he agreed with the Baltimore Colts Marching Band Leader John Zieman, on a Public Affiiars show hosts by Kwasi Mufumi to become Batlimore's Marching Ravens  I last saw him when there was a public viewing of Art Modell's Coffin on the 50 yard line of M&T Bank Stadium.

RIP David Modell

PS: Without him, our fan base wont be the same in term of team and fans connection.  He is one big bridge that connects us to the Ravens players and staffs....

When my sister in law was in hospice care at Stella Maris we wanted to have a Baltimore Raven player visit her as she was a huge fan of the Ravens .... Back then it was possible to actually call the Ravens organization and ask for Dave Modell ... And they would actually get him if he was available to the phone... And this was for anyone regardless if he knew who you were or not.... When he answered we told him of my sister in laws situation and he stated he couldn't promise but he would certainly try to ask one of the players to come and visit her... It was up to them... Long story short... He had one of the players visit... When that player said he was there to visit my sister in law not only her but the entire place and staff gate here's round... And all because David Modell made It possible.... He made himself accessible to everyone regardless of who you were... I will never forget him for this....

Sorry his life ended so soon.... Wish more people were like him.

Man seems death and injury has held a black cloud over this franchise for the last 2-3 years. Definitely sad to hear this news, but also feeling an attitude of gratefulness for what the Modell family has done for this city.

My prayers to the family, friends and anyone impacted by this loss.
