Steve, you should have been a Raven much sooner. It felt like you belonged here. Many of us are truly sad that we didn't get to share more than we did of your wonderful career.

God Bless you and your family. You'll surely be missed.

Well said! Not many left like him in the league. He almost seems to be among the last of a great generation of players that played with such fire, attitude, conviction and courage.

Damn shame we couldn't get this man a SB ring. Like the great Ravens of yore, SSS always left it all on the field. Honored to call him a Raven.

You'll certainly be missed Steve! You came in like a blazing comet into our city and team and left in 3 blinks of an eye! You are an eternal Raven in our hearts. God speed!

It's a shame he wasn't a Raven from the start. He would have been our Hines Ward. Three years is better than nothing.

There in your hope to felicitate Steve, you just insulted him! SSS will never be another team's Hines Ward. But, Hines Ward will always be Pittsburgh's Steve Smith Sr. and that is being very kind to Hines Ward imho.

if sss was drafted by the ravens he would have been another bum. this team cannot draft or develop receivers for some reason.

I love it here.  Moved back after years away.  Don't know that I'll be able to afford to stay in retirement, but I'll always call it home.  Most athletes aren't from here, and have the means to live somewhere warmer (and with far lower taxes).

Yup. Uncle Sam moved me out to Oklahoma in early 2008. I've been out of the service for 2 years now and have no plans to return. The politics, taxes, etc are not missed by me I can assure you. I do come and visit once or twice a year but I'd never move back. Maybe Texas, or Wyoming, or Montana. But that's just my personality.

I've been questioning this for years. We can't develop WR's because we haven't had the skill to get skilled coaches. Crazy!

I missed Mason, Bolton and now you Mr. Smith you will be missed most. There was a profound trust with all these guys. The intangible fire in the belly that made us cheer for all of you. More regret with SSS because he allowed us to actually see him.

Going to miss you.

Thank you! again Steve Smith Sr. because of you i think our receivers will step up even though i don't have 100% confidence that it will happen quickly. Somebody has to step up and be a voice a leader of men on this offense. I think Greg Roman was a smart hire, hopefully the running game comes back like the old days.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to see him play under our colors and in our house. Damn did those three years go by too fast.

SSS you talked the talk and walked the walk.Attended the Panthers game and wore my goggles your first season in Bmore when you put on one of the best and most fun ravens performances in our history. Thanks for that memory!

Yep. They would of used him to return punts and then thrown him to the curb.

Maybe you should think about it if you have such a low opinion of Maryland. Why don't you do something positive for once.
