[News] Late For Work 1/12: Greg Roman Expected To Join Staff; Ravens Get 'A' In 2016 Offseason Re-Grade

Great HIre. Can't imagine where the Ravens would've been the past few years without the additions of Steve Smith and Weddle. We need more of those type of picks ups

Yes, bring in Roman as our Run Game Coordinater - which means Castillo is gone (because what has he really done??) and ultimately Roman will be in place mid season when Morninweg is fired because the offense is slacking again. Am I the only one seeing a trend here??????

he will take over in week 4. this draft is deep with cb's and edge rushers. hope the fo trades our late rd picks to move up or grab an extra 2nd or 3rd, pierre garcon or possibly kenny britt but i wish we could develop receivers for once. still hoping perriman and chris moore get it done

They've never had anything but complimentary receivers so no worries Ozz we understand your language.

Maybe that Romans guy has a clue how to eyeball pick a WR in the draft since the Ravens evaluation process sucks.

Awesome hire. The only problem I have with roman is every year he was ranked "top 5" in the run game it was always with a mobile Quarterback. Alex smith, Tyrod Taylor, Colin kapepernick. just a thought.

So let's see.....the Ravens need a starter level CB, WR, and edge rusher via draft or FA....commit more to the run, develop a better play book for receivers....get better play out of key players (especially the QB)....find out why the defense collapsed (for the most part) in the second half of the season, and get on track to make a deep playoff run this year, sound about right? ....sounds easy to me LOL GO RAVENS!

The contenders in the AFC North all have great running backs, and I mean really good! So, I wouldn't mind one bit, if we drafted a stud this upcoming draft in the first round either. I think Dixon is a great talent, and West is good, but I think we need another back that is special and I mean league wide special.

Moore at the very least has looked great on ST. We all know Perriman is electric. He and Flacco need to get together this offseason. We also need creative plays to get him the ball. His hands aren't bad it's a concentration thing where he looks up field before completing the catch.

I think the bigger reason for the Top 5 rankings is more down to having a Frank Gore or a Shady McCoy.

That's also a factor but it helps when your quarterback is averaging 30-45 rush yards a game.

Don't get the talk of drafting a RB. With our glaring needs at CB, edge rusher, safety to replace Webb (if he is indeed a cap casualty), center, right tackle (assuming Wagner will be too costly) and overall depth on the OL, the need of a 3rd RB seems pretty far down the list.

Not 3rd RB. Possibly 1st RB.

If we had a gamebreaker at RB, think of how many more games we probably wouldve won. Not saying its a glaring "need," but if you consider the impact having a much better run game wouldve had on this season it makes sense.

Means nothing to me till he gets here and produces. I'm tired of empty talk by the Ravens...all I care about is results, results, results, then we can talk.

Needs are going to be pretty similar year to year until we prioritize the premium positions. Crazy how much fans love to talk about 'when are we going to get a #1 receiver?!'...go ahead and name your top 5 receivers in the league, and then count how many times they've won the super bowl. Having great players at QB, Tackle, Corner, and the pass rush positions is the most effective way to build a team. Runningbacks and receivers are nice and exciting but they don't win championships

This corner class might be 14' WR deep. That does not mean let's wait an eternity to pick one either.

After Jones, Wilson, Lattimore, Lewis, and King, there is a dip. Not saying the others aren't going to be good starters, but the top 5 are likely going to be game changers.

Well it would be nice to have an offensive line coach. RGC does not mean offensive line coach.

That's barring whether we upgrade Center and LG. Our inside outside of Yanda had little to no push.

You are assuming we would actually run the ball...our OL had no cohesiveness and when they actually did open up a hole the play was negated bc one of them were holding.  Having Elliot in the backfield wouldn't have mattered with the line we had...which as of now looks to be the same line we will have next season

Im ok with roman as long as we fire juan and weddle is so OVERPAID

WEDDLE:  $13M guaranteed for 4 years. $26 overall.

For 2016... Base was $1M; Signing Bonus @1.75M; and Roster Bonus of $1M....

WALLACE .....  two years and $11.5 million. The deal is really for one year and $5.75 million with an option for another season worth $5.75 million.

Wallace got $4.5 million signing bonus to sign in Baltimore with a $1 million bonus due in March of 2017.

Problem is people want us to bring in good players, then they don't think they deserve to get paid.... I'm not thinking this guy was overpaid this year.... Not for all the leadership he brings to this team. $3.75M? I think he's worth every penny.

So you're saying that in retrospect, the Ravens won the offseason.

Huh. I thought the Bills won the offseason.

Good news welcome to the Flock Greg Roman! Now we need Joe at 100% and work on his pocket presence and incorporate the pump fake because just dropping back and letting it go isn't working unless it's a quick release pass and Joe couldn't do that with Trestman because of the O line issues I guess then everything went hay wire! It's time for the Offense to carry this team for a change until the Defense get itself together! They deserve it been doing it since 96!

I don't know how you can say Weddle is overpaid, he was THE reason why our secondary turned around. Best FS we have had since Reed left, another field general.

Maybe the Ravens can get a RB 6ft 240 lbs and work on his body to help eat in the backfield with West and KD since everyone wants to run so much and keep games close! Smh don't know why a QB gets 100 mill just to do handoffs when the pressure is coming and we need him to make it do what it do or maybe he can't anymore! 2017 season will reveal what's hurting this team period point blank!

100% True!! If you want quality players you have to pay them accordingly We always go after the cheap cast-off because of cap restraints sometimes it work sometimes it don't and as of lately we have been missing.. We took a step in the right direction last off-season and I look forward to us doing it consistently going forward.. We have to change the way we attack the draft and free agency to really achieve higher expectations.. You want a Super Bowl Team you have to invest.. You get what you PAY FOR!!

How you gonna' teach an old dog (Flacco) new tricks?

Why should you - when the problem with him was the exact opposite: that he's forgotten sopme of his old tricks?

Good.... glad Greg Roman is on board. First legitimate move so far and should definitely be a good addition. Looking forward to what he can and will bring to the table.
