If you didn't catch the press conference, please make sure you do when you can.  I truly enjoyed the explanation for his decisions and loved hearing his passion for the game.

i simultaneously liked how fired up and severe he was when talking about the teams failings but also how at the same time he was so level-headed - we are so lucky that we have bisciotti rather than jed yorke etc. (anyone else love the shot he sent jed yorke's way?)

I don't know if I've ever appreciated Bisciotti as much as I do after that press conference.

Also, I can't recall if he's ever done this in past years, but he specifically called people out - players and coaches alike - much more than I can remember, so it's good to see that level of accountability taking place, even if it's behind closed doors and we fans can't always see it.

i think he said so himself that everyone kind of got a pass last year and obviously we havent had many bad seasons in recent history until then

Thought it would be a good idea to start a thread specifically for reactions to the End of Season Press Conference that just occurred.  I know there has been some talk of this in the "State of the Ravens" thread, but the thread is muddled with some people talking specifically about the presser and some talking more in general.  What are everyone's thoughts that have had a chance to watch it?   I am refraining from my thoughts for now since I only saw a couple pieces of it.  I will have to go back and watch it.

I really enjoyed it.

Bisciotti and Company, i felt, reflected my own personal views of what went wrong, what needs to be fixed, and how you go about doing that. It's not emotionally reacting with knee-jerk decision making. You analyze what went wrong, why it did, and was it the result of incompetency or factors unforeseen/out of control?

The anecdote about Wright helped explain that. Wright regressing really hurt the secondary and defense as whole... it was a personnel decision, so shouldnt Ozzie be to blame for it? Well, no, because at the time he was resigned all the available information pointed to him being an improving player, and had he played even close to his 2015 form the deal would have been a bargain. But - as we know, he didnt.

And, he kind of danced around it for a second, but im glad he said that he wouldnt pander to the fans even if it meant and temporary decrease in ticket sales or jersey sales... bc once you do that youre sunk. Doing what fans want turns you into the Cleveland Browns.

Loved the part too about pulling up the transcripts from this press conference every year. Fire Harbs, bench Joe, fire Ozzie, etc... every year from '08 through now. Listening to that sentiment would have destroyed the most successful 6 years in our history, and not brought us a Super Bowl; but of course some try to justify it now.

Any idea where I might find a replay for it?

didn't like the idea of raising the ticket prices for season tickets!!!!

don't know why ozzie & decosta get another pass at drafting?

did anyone really talk about a dominant running game?

I enjoyed the insight and what everyone has said so far is spot on. It seems Steve expects a much better outcome to next season and If not I feel he will make changes.

I have a question however. Steve said any player with domestic violence in their background will not be drafted, and he used tyreek hill as an example (he punched and chocked his girlfriend fyi for those who think we should have taken him). Now does that include a player who had a domestic violence charge that was later dropped, because that's what happened to Dalvin Cook?

I know that they said they look into each individual situation however they did state that they WILL NOT take a player with domestic violence

Uh .....did you not watch the presser? They said establishing a running game is a key for them going into next season and to have a balanced attack. And steve gave a perfect answer as to why ozzie is still the draft guru

theyve raised ticket prices 1x... ONCE in the last 8 years. And with all the investment theyre putting into the stadium - what do you want them to do?

Why do Ozzie and Decosta get a pass for drafting? Ummm... theyre not just getting a pass - they got an A from where im sitting. Franchise LT who was the best pass protector in the entire league down the stretch (per PFF), a legit lockdown type CB, a day 1 above average starter at guard with huge upside (they said they see KO potential in Lewis, btw), a very good situational pass rusher in Judon with big upside, an UDFA gem of a DT who could allow us to walk from BWill, a special teams ace in Moore who showed glimpses of great route running at WR, Dixon came on big down the stretch and is a legit potential lead back.....

And that doesnt even include the potential in our 2nd and 3rd round picks. Kaufusi has elite short area burst and many saw him as having monster potential as a pass rusher... some even gave him a rd 1 grade based on his short area burst and strength... and Correa we'll see.

But they ACED this draft. Could wind up as one of our best 2-3 drafts in history.

And yes. They addressed wanting a dominant run game.... and how you need a dominant OL to do it. Which they see as a priority, along with adding talent at RB.

Anything else?

theyll look into it and gather as much info as possible and then go with gut.

Im sure if they feel it was dropped bc he was innocent or the charges were overblown - it wouldnt stop them. If they determine it was dropped because of an out of court settlement, and he was really guilty - im sure hes off the board.

If its a straight up punch in the face and choking, versus a drunken argument where someone pushed an off balance girl a little too hard without intending to hurt her... and she fell bc she was drunk too..

As you said - im sure theyll treat every case differently and individually. Assess how recent the incident was, if any changes were made, interview family, friends, coaches and team mates, contact the victim or alleged victim and get their story... talk to law enforcement and school officials that were involved to get their perspective.

Jeff ZrebiecVerified account‏@jeffzrebiecsun

Bisciotti said team did not see Joe Flacco as good as he's capable of being. "I'm pretty optimistic Joe is going to get better."

Jeff ZrebiecVerified account‏@jeffzrebiecsun

Bisciotti: "we need to get more out of Joe (Flacco). I think Joe agrees with that."

Jeff ZrebiecVerified account‏@jeffzrebiecsun

Harbaugh: "joe is going to be better next year. There's no doubt in my mind."

Jeff ZrebiecVerified account‏@jeffzrebiecsun

Harbaugh on Flacco's struggles: "to me, it falls on all of us."

Jeff ZrebiecVerified account‏@jeffzrebiecsun

Bisciotti said Flacco is accountable and open to criticism. Said it's probably good idea to have Flacco part of decision making.

Basically that he didnt play well, but they think there were some factors in his control and out of his control that effected it.

The need for a better OL and run game was part of hit. Him getting over the injury and more removed from it. Refocusing on fundamentals. They talked about if you ask Joe he'd say 100% of his down play was his fault... but if you ask the coaches theyd say its better coaching, and a better game plan. If you ask Ozzie its his fault because he needs to surround him with better talent.

And that the fact is that the truth is a combo of all 3.

First time I have ever heard one of the higher ups come to terms that Flacco, in the regular season, is just not cutting t for what he's paid. Too many times Harbaugh has come to Flaccos defense and used an excuse.

The real question is, what if Flacco performs like this next year? Could they possibly make him take a pay cut? Or even more than that? We will see. Because if he has many more regular seasons like he has, this team won't make it to the playoffs again.

One thing they made very clear was that people like us always throw the blame on a single person whether it be; Joe flacco not playing well enough, harbaugh not having the control of the team anymore, or to fire marty or pees, and Ozzies draft struggles when in reality, which Steve made be clear was that it was a combination of everyone underperforming their expectations. This comming year he's expecting everyone to improve. Seems like he's trying to light a fire under everyone or else changes will be made

Saw it.  Only the best owner in the biz.  His message is clear.   I urge fans of the Ravens organization to check it out.   Going 3 out of 4 season with no playoffs is not an option and he made it VERY clear that he expects Flacco to play like a top tier QB next year.

I hope Flacco prepares himself to the best of his ability offseason to get us back to get the Lombardi again.   Play like a top-tier elite QB.  We paid him, and we expect success.  No more complacent Brock Osweiler failure in Ravens town.  Lets see what Flacco can do and make the decision to address it asap.

John said repeatedly he makes all decisions on coach changes and Steve never intervenes; 2017 is the year to determine John's faith for 2018.....

But,,,, He didnt fire anybody!!! Why did he allow Harbaugh and Pees to stay. Lets face it,,Suppose the Pats played bad you think Bob Kraft would let things slide? No way he would!

Uh his QB and HC has been caught cheating, almost red handed two different times and he's gone to bat for them both times. I think he'd be just as loyal to his partners as Mr. B is.

In business you can't go firing everyone as soon as you hit a rough patch. When you put guys in position that you trust, you don't just lose that trust because things aren't going well. I always find it funny be it Business or Pro Sports, the people with the less amount invested into the organization are the ones who are always asking to see heads role. Having strong willed decision makers that don't succumb to the pressure of the few, is greatly important and I'm so glad the Ravens have those guys in place.

Mr. B said it the best. If he listened to the 10% who want to see heads roll every year, this Organization wouldn't be as respected around the NFL as they are.
