I think the Chiefs would have beat them.

I thought so too.  Would've been a better match up but Steelers had to ruin that.

It doesn't seem like a good idea to pay big money to running backs in a quarterback driven league; they money can be put to better use elsewhere.

Consequently, I'm rooting for them to pay the man and give Bell a long term deal.

and then he goes and has some suspension again - ideal

Pats are just like the NY Yankees in the old days of the 70s and Celtics in the 60s

2. They had no shot with Alex Smith at QB

Truth be told... right now we are a Derek Carr injury away from a Raiders vs Falcons Super Bowl.

Hey we did give them some fits this year, even if it was more the Pats being really dumb on special teams lol

that's bold - not saying it wouldnt happen but they'd still have to come to foxboro and win

Thats crazy talk, I like the raiders but holy hell their defense is as bad as the steelers plus they haven't won a playoff game in ages. They might not have even beaten kansas or pittsburgh.

Yeah I think the Raiders are the only team that had a shot. That O-line would have been big and they would have put up points. Don't know if they win but it would have been a heck of a lot better than whatever the Steelers or Chiefs could do in New England.

Thanks man. I just got up but still tired, so saw the score and the game looks one sided again. Quick summary anyone?

The usual Pats Steelers game.  Brady shredding Steelers defense.  This time with more drops and poor hand eye coordination from the wrs in Black and Gold.  Bad turnovers.  Also a great goal line stand to hold them to 3 on what looked like a td from James initially.

That was more of mistakes from the Chiefs than it was the Steelers actually played well. I think if you played that game 100 times, the Chiefs come out on top more often than not.

Alex Smith is actually the reason I think they win. He plays smart, efficient football. He won't force it or try to do too much. He's going to take what the defense gives him and work the ball methodically down the field without many mistakes to prey on.

Why is Brady taking so many hits? He doesn't usually hold the ball this long.

Probably cause Steelers dbs doing some holding of their own.

When Steelers fans go in the Boston airport the PA announcer should thank them for visiting just like the Denver airport PA announcer did after Tebow beat them in playoffs

Ahh ok thanks, it's pretty much what I predicted as soon as carr went down for the AC side. Atlanta will be tough, and ryan and jones and the falcons deserve a title in all honesty.

Better defense and enough offense.  I don't think Chiefs would've let game get this out of hand.

Yeah, I actually forgot about that; he's and injury and suspension risk plus rbs just aren't as important as they used to be.

Hopefully, Pitt gives him a huge payday.

Against the Pats that would probably get called...

And anyway, I'm used to seeing Brady throw the ball away to avoid getting hit. It's kind of weird to see this.

It's just a shame they don't have Tony Gonzalez anymore. Though in fairness no Gonzalez probably frees up cap space for signings like Mack and Sanu.

It really depends, atlanta defense has played well these playoffs but we all know it's still ripe for the picking.

They would make the same mistakes against the Pats. Problem with the Chiefs and Andy Reid teams in general is that they always do good in the regular season but never get it done in the playoffs. Chiefs defense would have kept it close but the Chiefs are always good for some dumb moves in crunch time that sink them.

Also you don't win in foxborough by being a game manager unless you have literally everything work your way like the 2009 Ravens and that was not a great Pats team that year. Best result for the Chiefs is a game just like the Steelers where they mess it up in the final drive and pat themselves on the back for keeping it close. In Arrowhead they would have a shot but not on the road. You only get one shot in the playoffs and you need to make something happen.

I'd take Gonzalez over Sanu, to be fair.

They are really good, but they won't play in Atlanta, their defense is going to give up some plays to Brady's bunch, and NE is going to get some favorable calls like they always do.

Plus the Pats have all the experience in the world. I doubt the Falcons will run away with the game, but I can imagine them winning.

even if atlanta's defense doesnt show up - it only needs to force 1 turnover or a couple of punts and the pats will be in trouble - atlanta rarely scores less than 30 points and has averaged something like 38 points all season

i just think that offense is so good and the pats defense isnt anything like seattle's vs payton manning --> maybe the atlanta defense doesnt turn up for most of the game but they'll find a couple of stops or a turnover somewhere and that could be all they need
