point remains. If he had the Ravens' O line, run game and receivers he would not be in the discussion for the MVP or heading to the SB.

Considering that he's dealt with worse quality lines and run games than the Ravens had this year and the fact that we all wanted to pump up how good this receiving corp would be, I thoroughly disagree.

Truthfully, the Ravens didn't even have a bad running game or offensive line. The Ravens dealt with poor health more than anything (they were pretty good when healthy) and Dixon and West were just underutilized. And outside of Jones, I would take the receivers and tight ends of the Ravens.

I think the Pats defense has been overrated by the lack of quality quarterbacks and offenses in general they've played.

I agree, especially without Collins and Chandler Jones but the Packers defense is still a lot worse. Biggest mismatch between the teams except maybe the coaching edge. Don't see how Rodgers can make up for that stuff against Brady.

Falcons will be interesting as they are balanced enough where the Pats can't just shut down Julio and expect to win. I think they will score some good points unless they really wet the bed. Guess it will depend on how the defense does for Atlanta. I still think New England is my favorite but if Atlanta can replicate their performance today they have a good shot. Problem is like you say that Green Bay had a lot of injuries so it is tough to say how much of an impact that had.

is it just me who would rather the pats over the steelers?

I'm with you man, I hate the Steelers. I used to hate the pats, but after the way Goodell and other owners in the league railroaded them with suspensions and loss of draft picks, I hope they win tonight.

Patsies seem to always get these strange, lucky breaks. Is Bell out or will he come back?

Well to be fair Bell is always out during big games.  We got them in the playoffs without Bell.

Patriots have to have cheated somehow? Injurygate?? Or maybe they have spies that can climb over fences and watch practices due to the failure of their gates? Gategate?

With the Falcons defense, they have a lot of talent and a great defensive mind in Quinn. The real issue is whether or not the young guys can handle the bright lights. If they can, I don't see a reason Atlanta's defense can't keep NE from scoring more than that offense.

Everyone expected GB to just shred Atl and Atlanta really took it to them.

Yeah I think in college football you get this a bit more often and you want your conference to look better. In the NFL though it does literally no good.

exactly - its just bragging rights for them over the rest of the division - that's why i want pats to win this week - lesser of two evils for me

Joe ain't Ben or Brady, but look at the time to throw, with receivers running open all over the field. Flacco can only dream about that...

I feel like they should have ruled that a fumble since Brady didn't come up with the ball.  Then allow for a review by Pats.

i dont think that's true - the around the nfl crew all-bar-one picked atlanta and i would have picked them as well going in - that offense was just too explosive

but you are right that the burden isnt on atlanta because of how historically good their offense is - it takes the pressure off the young guys because it doesnt matter if they get beat once - but it means they can be aggressive and take risks because the opportunity of an extra possession is so useful

I'm curious to see how that factors into a long term deal. Do the Steelers Franchise him for one year and then draft a RB to replace him? Or do they give him a long term deal knowing his injury history?

Yep, this way they'll have hard time finding clear recovery by Pitt.

its one of those that will be incredibly hard to overturn either way so they have to call that how they saw it rather than err towards the automatic fumble because of the automatic review because as far as they are concerned there wasnt a fumble to be recovered

I just meant that people expected it to be a high scoring match that came down to the wire because GB was going to really go after that young defense.

you know what - considering how it was ruled they should have done it the other way

Missing this game certainly hurts Bell's contract chances.  The two sides will be very far apart.  Franchise tag is probably the only option.

We could have avoided the Pats in the Super Bowl if the Texans had a QB.

Its ok.  Having Pats suffer another loss in SB is sweeter than AFCC loss.

I believe in the Falcons

lol, not what I was saying at all. Just seem they get unlikely breaks.....penalties, non fumbles, opponents dropped tds, missed fgs, tuck rule, etc., etc., etc..

Yeah, I'd be surprised if that didn't end up with a franchise tag this year. The real question imo is what happens if he lights it up next season.

Serious question. Have you ever seen a call like that go against brady/pats?
