Question is, what do people start saying about Ryan vs Flacco WHEN he wins it all this year.

There's nothing to say. Ryan will have MVP and SB MVP in one year. That puts him in the running for sportsman of the year period. Ryan has elevated his game while Flacco has regressed.

Sadly, true.

We need to play this game in the film room before every game next season to remind our coaches that it's ok to keep the pedal to the floor and score anytime you want.

I was just thinking the same thing.  Cause, that is what some Ravens fans have been holding over Ryan's head for not being better than Joe in their minds.

That Ryan is better. If you want me to be totally honest.

Many people feel that way.

Ryan is looking good and a whole lot more polished and refined as a QB than Flacco imo.

Dan Quinn just made his first mistake of the game. Not challenging the down by contact ruling when it was clear ball came out and Upshaw recovered clearly. Upshaw should be mad at Quinn for screwing up his fumble recovery.

I asked because for years it was the SB that was all people used to justify saying he was better.  Hurts to say too cause I've never been a Ryan fan but he's stepped his game up and Falcons this year became a team I respect.  Quinn should be in the discussion for Coach of the Year.  He's changed Falcons from a cream puff to a somewhat physical team.

What we can all hope for is that this lights a fire under Joe's butt. But we need to put more pieces around Joe. That's the only way we can get back to the big dance. As good as Ryan's been, the whole team is a very good one.

Absolutely!

But our coaching staff has shown that they are allergic to playing to win instead of not to lose!

Come on now Rodgers, stop acting like Brady and whining to the officials.

Ryan is playing great while Joe had an off year, no doubt. The question I have is what if their O line, running backs and receivers were switched. Would we still see Ryan "elevated" and Flacco "regressed"? Me thinks not.

Which is a pretty big deal

Is it? We consistently see the same teams picking in the top 10, so there's something more than that. I think we're trying to rationalize their success and it's simply they are a better team right now. They made better FA acquisitions and drafted better.

Having a true #1 makes guys like Sanuk and Gabriel so much better.  That and 2 great RBS who can catch and run routes.  Offense is loaded.  Shout out to Chris Chester too for finally playing in a sb.

ATL 52 minutes before their first defensive flag.

LOL. I'll never forget Brady whining when Suggs was blocked near (not into) his feet. Of course, he got the flag.

I'm not worried about Joe. He was clearly affected by ACL tear the previous season. Put a brace on Ryan's knee and see how he does.

That being said, I think Ryan is the better QB of the two. For most of their careers, Joe was on a superior team, that was the difference.

Ryan seems to observe more, read defenses, make changes. He's very active physically and it seems to impact his team. Joe seems uninvolved, detached or something.

Ryan has a lot of pieces, but even without that, his deep ball is much better, his mechanics are smoother, and he's no longer the statue in the pocket he used to be. Combine that with the fact that he's always been a pretty accurate QB, and it's allowed him to take his game to the next level.

This is the work he put in during the offseason:

Quote

After eight NFL seasons, the 31-year-old Ryan decided to step out of his normal offseason routine, in part, to enhance his ability to throw deep.

Ryan visited Tom House and Adam Dedeaux of the acclaimed 3DQB training facility in Los Angeles after hearing recommendations. House, a former major league pitcher and pitching coach, and Dedeaux, a former pitcher at USC, developed a program aimed to improve the overall throwing performance of quarterbacks by focusing on four key areas: functional strength and conditioning, mechanics and motion analysis, mental and emotional management, and nutrition. They've worked with Tom Brady, Drew Brees and Carson Palmer, to name a few.

Ryan spent six weeks training with Dedeaux and House. The sessions, spread over a sixth-month period on the West Coast and in Atlanta, were four to five days a week for three to four hours a day.

"You're always trying to find ways to get better, and I feel like that was an avenue for me to get better," Ryan said. "It was different-style training -- some shoulder work, some core work. And I feel really good. The ball feels really good. It's coming off well."

Maybe Flacco will be so inspired.

We have had a Better D for sure but Offense with the weapons Ryan has had i disagree.

I didn't realize Courtney Upshaw was a Falcon.

Now I'm tempted to say something like "no wonder their mediocre at best on defense."

Can someone tell me how the Packers managed only 1 touchdown until late in the third against a team like this?

exactly what I was coming to write. I hope they win it all just to eliminate that narrative around here.

Thats been the go-to anytime Rivers or Ryan is brought up.
