The mock you've been waiting for 1.0

27 posts in this topic

Cleveland-Myles Garrett, best player on the board.

SF- Trubisky- they need a lot of everything, but cannot miss out on top QB.

Chicago- Jonathan Allen,  Fox wants a stout defense and will take a QB later.

JAX- Fournette, they have a decent defense so they could make it great with another piece but they opt to help out Bortles with a run game.

TENN- Tabor, they could go Wilson, but I think their scouts will like his ball skills and speed too much.

NYJ- Watson, they could easily take pass rusher or corner, but with Cleveland and Buffalo still on the board, they don't allow themselves to be stuck with Fitzpatrick again.

SD- Williams, they will be tempted to go defense, especially with Hooker, but with Allen being injury prone, they need high octane offensive talent for Rivers to help reduce his turnovers.

CAR- Robinson, they could go BPA and take Cook, but Cam needs protection and he consistently is battling it off the edges so insert Robinson for stability.

CIN- Barnett,  Dalton needs more weapons, but Cincy has an old defense with hardly no rush outside of Atkins.

Buff- Foster, they need a WR2 also, but they need speed, run stopping skills and leadership on a defense that seemingly has no identity.

NO- Hooker, they could go Adams too. I expect they take a corner in round 2. Hooker helps allieviate pressure on the back end.

CLE- Kizer, they already went BPA and cannot keep RGIII at the helm long term. Jackson needs to groom a young QB.

ARZ- Ramczyk, they need a QB but not left that will be worthy of this pick so they help the o line out that struggled with consistency.

IND- Cook/Feeney, this is the hardest pick because they need a legit RB to help out Luck, yet they also need a line that won't lead to so many sacks, they couldn't go wrong either way.

PHI- Peppers, they could take a corner, such as Sidney jones, but if he declares there is just too much talent to pass on at this point.

Baltimore*(how I hope it goes)

Tim Williams, he has a character issue and his strength in the run game comes into question, but he has all the tools of a top flight rusher and that is what we need. His work ethic and an additional 5-8 lbs of muscle will help him set the edge too.

(How it will likely go knowing Ozzie)

Jamal Adams, not an immediate need but supremely talented and is flying under the radar. Our safeties are 31 and 32, so we finally find a great coverage safety of the future that helps immediately wihen Pees draws up our exotic blitz packages.

RD2: Charles Harris, many have him at the end of the 1st but I think he slides while teams gobble up corners and the other remaining rushers ahead of him such as Thomas, McKinley, Lawson, Taco, Jones, Humprey, Lattimore, King,. Jackson, etc.

I'm also anticipating a move up in RD2, if it happens, I could see us going for another sliding rusher or Corner, perhaps Desmond King because of teams fear of his top end speed.

I'm not sure well take Williams with his character concerns honestly. And I see Jamal Adams going top 10, however, Charles Harris is def  a possibility. I really see us being all in on solomon thomas however. I think he's a guy our FO will fall in love with

i looked into it and it doesnt look like a real concern to me - it was a deal with misinformation and being in the wrong place with the wrong friend - it hasnt been suggested he had any weed on him, just that he had a concealed weapon without a license (having been told that was ok in the circumstances by the guy who sold him the gun) and the issue was dealt with - he seems to have no other law problems or character issues that ive heard of so as long as he does ok in the interviews i dont think he's a concern

solomon thomas looks a little like aaron donald coming out - a bit undersized but crazy athletic

charles harris i dont like as much as everyone else - i see him being picked up but hopefully not by us - id take him at 48 but not the 16th pick

and i agree that jamal adams wont be there in all likelihood

Thomas is a beast and a great playmaker but idk if our defensive scheme will fit him. With a 4-3 front he will be a beast!

Harris ain't going mid 2nd. No way in hell.

I don't think he will either, hence, I am aiming for Ozzie to trade up. He sure will not go in round 1. Unless he blows scouts away at combine and individual workouts. He is RD2 guy Ozzie will snag if we don't take a rusher in the first. Round 2 is ozzies favorite round to make moves, such as art brown in 13', Max in 15' and his clumsy confidence in Correa this past year, leading to trading back twice.

Adams, Peppers, Ross and Thomas will be the main 4 picks that I will state now that I will not at all be surprised with if they happen, despite our more blatant needs at other positions.

Adams is seriously gifted, but in recent years outside of Earl Thomas, the safety position has not garnered that much love towards the top of the first. Most make it to the back end up the round. Corners are just more highly coveted. Collins went 2nd Rd in 15'. Reid went 18 or something in 13', Clinton-Dix went 20 something in 14', Neal and Joseph went mid first last year.

He's arguably the 3rd edge rusher in the draft if you consider williams' character concerns. And he is maybe the speediest edge rusher of All the first rounders aside from Garrett. He's got a good chance to blow away the combine.

Have a hard time believing he doesn't go at least to a playoff team. If not higher.

Which Rd1 talents do you see going early Rd2? A ton of corners I'm guessing?

What are his character concerns? Didn't he get busted with a gun (which he purchased legally) and thought he had a permit for it and some weed in the car that his friend took the fall for?

Pretty much. Nothing major. If he failed drug tests or had a DV charge id say no way, but that is so minuscule.

jalen tabor, corey davis, harold landry, quenton nelson, adoree jackson, solomon thomas, taco charlton, with those last 3 being iffy as far as "first round talent" goes. i dont think they all do, not even close, but i think most of them are/will be considered first rounders that could fall to the 2nd.

Thomas just looks so solid and he killed it in the bowl game v NC. Tabor is the typical guy that a team will fall in love with during the combine. I do hope Taco or Jackson are there in the 2nd. Both really talent, but need a year or so to be groomed. OL is so thin this year that I almost want to say that most top guys will be gone by late 1st round. At least Feeney , Eiflein, and other top interior guys.

i dont really want taco unless we are gonna commit to a real 43 under, he has no place as an OLB and lacks that first step to make it work there.

thomas has the tweener label which really could push him down, he looks like an NFL edge rusher but is he explosive enough for it?

and tabor already has character concerns and i think hes all hype, he has size, ball skills, and straight line speed, but he lacks fluidity and loose hips and change of direction and he is gonna be a penalty machine. i watch his film and wonder how the hell some of his holds go uncalled and how he can hold so badly and still get beat on a route. i also wonder just how low his stock would fall if qb's would look his way more often because he gets beat quite a bit.

I'm willing to bet Adoree Jackson won't go in the first (not even close), but I will be shocked if all the others don't.

I think he goes top 10, but if he didn't, oh man, I'd be all over that one.

Well I actually saw a mock draft where he ended up to us. It's purely impossible imo but if we get him it's absurd value, so much that you can't refuse.

I think he's easily a legit top 10 talent and the best DB in the class.

To me he's a legit top5 talent, he's the most complete prospect outside of Garett and perhaps Allen.

Also in agreeance, I would be ecstatic if we drafted him. Also really like Malik Hooker and would be happy if we got either of those two stud safeties. Would really allow us to have options of what to do with Webb and I want a young guy beside Weddle before he is done so he is coached up on the field.

Jamal Adams is flying under the radar! Especially since LSU wasn't "dominant" this year. He has a seriously high football IQ and great coverage skills, tackling, ball skills and paired up with Weddle we would have a sick safety combo.

I've seen two mocks with him going to us. It is slightly possible, but I feel that somewhere between 10-15 he gets grabbed along with Tim Williams and our dreams are crushed lol

but once again, safeties regardless of talent, haven't been  heavily sought after  early in the first outside of Earl Thomas.

Eric Berry was top5 iirc and Adams is often compared to him.

I wouldn't say he's flying under the radar.  He's pretty much universally regarded as a top 10 pick.

We will see. Unless Tennessee grabs him, I think he makes it into the teens. Ok hoping we land him, but if we don't then I am on the Tim Williams and Sidney Jones express.
