[News] Ravens' Offseason Roster Wish List

132 posts in this topic

If Wright is a big drop off from Jimmy Smith, why is he playing? Give one of the rookies a chance, can't do any worse. The Ravens may find another "hidden gem" we won't know unless they are given a chance. I'm beginning to question Leslie Frazier's capabilities to develop talent.

This is Frazier's 1st year and he developed a undersized 4th Round Pick in Tavon Young into a legit starting CB. Think what he could do with a King/Tabor/Jackson....

1st Round Solomon Thomas
Jamal Adams,
Zach Cunningham

No wonder it's snowing, me a Crusader actually agree on something...lol

Solomon Thomas is a beast but I have to think the hype train will push him into the Top 10...

I wish we would've paid KO to be our left tackle. He proved that he could play the position. If we did that we could've dropped back from the number six pick in the draft to the 8 or 9 spot an snatched up Eli apple an a second round pick. That would made a big difference this season.

When did KO prove he could be a LT? He played what 3 or 4 games at the position during a meaningless stretch of a 5-11 season.  He got paid LT money but he's still a LG even in Oakland.

Now I've got nothing against Eli Apple I liked him as a prospect last year but when the Giant drafted him that high it was a bit of a reach since he was thought to be a mid to late 1st round prospect.  If your scenario plays out and KO was the future LT then I would have expected a more aggressive attempt to get Ramsey as the pick rather than trading back.

I believe KO played tackle for years in college an even throw it was a meaningless stretch he stilled played very well. The Ravens tried to trade up for Ramsey but the team they tried to trade with wanted to much in return or didn't want to trade with us at all. He's a LG in Oakland because oakland already has a good LT. There offensive line is one of the best in the league now with KO. That was just one of my wishes... That all

We are going to have north of $20 million. I am hoping we land a cap casualty center and WR. OL is weak in this draft, we cannot only have Zuttah and Urschel. I wish we could land a Mack, Unger, Fredrick like talent at the position. We need someone that can drive forward and give West and Dixon room to run.

We a center so badly. Probably more than anything besides a CB and WR. If we don't get a good one in FA, I hope there's one in the draft in round 2 or 3 that can step in right away and play at a high level right away. There must be. Just gotta find him. As far a wr goes, I would love to see Wright or Alshon signed. I'm aware or Alshon's durability, but I think it'd be worth it. He's the exact type of wr we need. Can't believe Aiken made north of 2.5mil last year. He hurt the team so much more than he helped it. Looks like we have to get a Center from the draft. There are ANY ava in FA.

Forget the draft the best player on the board stuff, trade up and draft a player that can play NOW!!!!! There is always players to sign after the draft. Look at the guy we got from NAVY??? Why did they sign the guy? Just to say we have him? Play the young guys, they are better that the SLOW players Harbs put on the field in 2016.
New Coach, New QB and get some fast DB's

Outside of LT, C is the most valuable position on the line so I am hoping things pan outrun the draft. I wouldn't seei T happening until round 3 though. Too much talent at edge rusher and corner for Ozzie o pass on early.

Joe needs a legit proven receiver, but Jeffrey is likely not getting out of Chicago. Even if he did, he is easily going to get +$12 million a year. Too rich for us.

I'll elaborate on that, no problem.
NFL teams are built through the draft. I don't think a single knowledgeable football fan would argue that. Some teams do well and get lucky, and hit on players in rounds 4-7 every so often, which is a serious boost to the team. But the foundations of great teams are built in rounds 1-3. This is obvious and simple. Here is a list of 1rst-3rd round picks over the past 7 years.
Elam
Perriman
Arthur Brown
Maxx Williams
Cody
Kindle
KC
Kufasi
Carl Davis
Brooks
Jah Reid
Upshaw

Not only are none of these players even close to sniffing any kind of pro bowl talent, but a lot of them already have or are going to end up not even being able to play in the league what so ever. Because they are not any good. 1rst, 2nd, and 3rd round picks. That aren't even good enough to play in the league.....hmmmm. Drafting is driving the Ravens into the ground. Someone has to answer for that.

This year. Stanley is awesome. At 6 overall, you better get an awesome player. After that, let's talk about this "one of the best drafts in Ravens history".
We draft KC in the second round. Doom and Mosely are out for big sections of the year and KC isn't even good enough to play. at ll really. But he's a "hustle" player. Whatever that means. So we waste a pick on a guy that might never be good enough to play, instead of players that made an impact the entire year, and will be foundations of their franchises going forward- Sterling, Spence, and Michael Thomas are just a couple. All positions we need too.
Then Kufasi. Yeah he got hurt, but bottom line, another high pick with zero production or experience after year 1. Not to mention he was another "hustle" player that didn't have any outstanding traits at all and was someone that "needs time to develop".
Our 4th round was good. Finally. But Young is the only sure thing.
Chris Moore didn't contribute this year, except for a costly drop.
Alex Lewis got a lot of hype, but he was only average when he was on the field.
Henry didn't play at all this year.
And I am a fan of Dixon.
Then Judon looks good but is raw and completely unproven.

So this draft was ok, but the only reason it looks good is cuz we're comparing it to our GARBAGE drafts of the past several years. We drafted about 2 pro bowl players in the past 5 years. And one of those was a kicker. It's pathetic and very sad and helpless for the fans. If we don't hit on rounds 1-3 in the next several years, we'll be sitting in 3rd or 4th in the division for years to come.

Some players are drafted because of their NFL traits and potential. Coming from a small school in Boise, Correa needed a full year on the bench before he is ready to contribute. Harbaugh is also notorious for playing the veteran over the better player, so Correa didn't get playing time this year.

I would like to see upgrades on the coaching staff, including the coach! I would also like the front office to get an upgrade. Everything is going downhill: Defense is terrible, Offense is terrible, Coaching is terrible. This ship is sinking, its time to abandon ship and get a new boat..

Everything in life runs in cycles. Our front office and coaching staff are stale. The last thing we need is Hard calling plays. Look at his picking coaches, Newsomes last 4-5 years of drafting? Maybe 1-2 players a year. Every years he looks for another wide receiver and he fails. He can pick one or two defensive players but knows nothing on offensive players except O-lineman one every 4-5 years and then they leave.
CHANGE, WE NEED CHANGE

THIS! SO MUCH THIS! The whole "running back by committee" approach has never really worked, less the Falcons situation with 2 premiere backs. Every back needs consecutive/consistent carries to get hot and make these explosive plays. The more touches they get, the more comfortable they get with the ebb and flow of the game. Sure depth is necessary and rest/subs are needed. But we need 1 starting RB, and I think Dixon could be it next season. West would be a great back up/sub/short yardage back, while Dixon has 3 down RB potential.

Pair that with an improved O-Line and dedication to run the ball 30-40 times a game (better play calling/scheme), and improvements to the pass rush and secondary, and we'd be playoff bound.

Oh, and please do not let Aiken hit the FA. If he was actually used as a starter this season, rather than an occasional piece, we'd have been a lot more productive. I love SSS as much as the next fan, but Aiken's season 2 years ago, when he was the primary WR, sold me on his ability. Offset him with the speed we now have and he's the next Q... Just sayin'...

Apparently you don't recall the Thunder and Lightning days of the Giants with Tiki Barber and Brandon Jacobs.

Aiken is hot garbage. If he gets a big contract at all give him a mask to wear because he's robbing somebody. The year he was the starter, he was one of the only guys that had a pulse that didn't walk in off the street that year. When you are the only offensive option, you're gonna see a lot of passes.

I know its early but Correa and Kafusi are probably not players the caliber of Myles Jack (LB),Spence (pass rusher), Vonn Bell (S), Derrick Henry (RB), Sterling Sheppard(WR), Howard (CB) that he passed on in the second round.

Are you not aware that Jack didn't actually do much of anything and played very sparingly on a team as poor as the Jaguars? So they didn't get a whole lot out of their 2nd round pick either. Then there's that whole knee issue. It is only a matter of when and nobody seems to agree about when that knee will wear down and be bone on bone, but everyone agrees it will happen and he'll need microfracture surgery to repair it which will cost him a year of playing time at the very least.
