[News] Ravens Retain Offensive Coordinator Marty Mornhinweg

Are we trying to suck for a great QB in the 2018 draft? This has to be a joke.

Unfortunately the joke is on the fans, and next season will be the punchline.

We never used any of our playmakers the proper way. Our offense had 1 good game (Miami) the entire year. Lets bring Marty back...WOW Lets throw the ball 70% of the time some more. IMO we pick top 10 next year unless we fire Marty early.

what playmakers? still waiting for the front office to draft some

Agreed ... as frustrating as the offense has been at times, the defense is what has really caused me to lose my mind. The collapse of the defense at the end of the season was breathtaking and is what cost us a playoff berth. IMO, I would actually have felt that Pees may be more likely to be let go than Marty. I seriously doubt that will happen either. We're just going to roll with status quo and hope something changes.

Realistically for most of the season. The defense has played very well. The collapse at the end of the Steelers game was simply two things. Our pass rushers cannot handle the load anymore and outside of Jimmy and Young to an extent, we have bad depth at corner. The defense at the end of the year just looked gased and worn down. Pees gets aggressive and the pass rushers don't get there and we pay with gaps in coverage--the Pittsburgh game. We drop 7-8 and the QB gets the time to find the seam and throws it in the bucket--such as the Raiders game. Give us Sidney jones, Tim Williams or Charles Harris and we will look a lot better once Suggs is a third down specialist only.

We better at least get a new Offensive Line coach. I can't stand watching Zuttah and Vlad Ducasse block its horrible. The running backs can't block either. Need some fresh Ideas, Castillo is Harbaugh's buddy from Philly and he needs to go, we need Change.

The Ravens have become mediocre under Harbaugh. He has had his run and by announcing that he wants MM back gives me nothing to really look forward to next season. I'm a little mystified that Bishotti is not making big time changes (maybe he will after learning of Harbs decision to retain MM)The players said it all in how they responded in the Cincy game. That game showed a lot of no heart, nothing inspiring in plays or schemes and they didn't look at players to see if they could help next year (Keenan Reynolds, Chris Moore among others). As of now I see a lot of frustrating and boring games to watch (thank goodness for Red Zone) and unless Biscotti dumps them all and start anew does anyone really expect us to be better than .500 next year

Well, we know how next season is going to be now. I said 9-7 for this season and missed by one game. They were worse. Never would have though that. Nothing is going to change until Steve B calls the head coach in and lays him out for his inability to get the right people on his staff. This PHILLY discard crap is killing this team and the fans are seeing it now and are not happy. PURPLE REIGN my butt! This group is self destructive and proves it week in and week out. Sad to see this happening. But cronyism is alive and doing well at the Castle until HARBS gets the boot. Hopefully, next year he hits the pavement along with all of his buddies that suck at their jobs. Over and out. This fan is gone.

Vlad the Bad was just a spare butt ran out there to fill in due to the Alex and Yanda injuries. Hope is they can add some depth across the line via the draft..HOPE.

Good news! Joe and the Offense stunk it up this season leaving the Defense out to dry and hopefully with a good solid start next season the Ravens will be at that level of football we all know they can be and light it up! The pass opens up the run and Joe gotta step up or it will be the same song next season! To those that think Slinging that Rock isn't the way to go just watch the Air show this weekend! Good runs but solid passing!

Possibly one of the Top 10 Worst Announcements in err...

Check that, possibly one of the Top 3 Worst Announcements in All-Time Ravens History. At least one of the other 2 was announcing that Cam Cameron would stay on (2011). Perhaps the other one would also include the news about Cam Cameron (2012).

Why does this team always have this cloud over their head when it comes to issues pertaining to the offense. QB, Receiver, OC...it just doesn't ever pass

well he is the oc for next season so i am going to support him and hope that with a whole off season he is able to run a fluid and balanced offense but it would be nice if the front office gets him some horses to work with. i like the west /dixon combo as long as they stay healthy but depth is needed at the rb position just in case. wr group does not strike fear in any defense. the fo cannot assume that perriman and chris moore will be the answer. need a tough receiver in the mold of boldin/sss.

As a life long Raven fan who lives in South Carolina, I don't have the option of saying things like I will cancel my season tickets, or I will never pay another penny to attend a Raven game, but I do have the option of dropping Direct TV's Sunday ticket, and that is precisely what I intend to do. It is apparent to the entire football viewing world that Harbaugh is only going to hire his good buddies as coaches, and hope that they will somehow pull a rabbit out of their butt and all of a sudden become good coordinators. Anyone that watches Raven games can see the problem for what it is. The offensive line is one of the weakest in the NFL, and not only do they not pass protect, but they are unable to create holes for the RB's. Flacco has about as much leadership ability as Elmer Fudd. He does nothing to inspire his team mates, and just does not have that fire in the belly that all great Quarterbacks possess. Defensively, there is not a team in the NFL that fears playing them. If the little sisters of the poor had a football team with a QB that could deliver deliver passes, they would salivate over the chance to play against this secondary. Pass rush, what pass rush? And Harbaughs answer is to keep his buddies employed, give me a break. Good luck Raven fans, I'm done.

Don't forget that we got boot stomped through the last 4 games in the run game. That was supposed to be our strength. It has little to do with Jimmy. Don't forget the Philly game. That was a travesty on defense that we only narrowly got past.

This offense probably had the most playmakers in the history of any Ravens offense.

Steve Smith Sr
Mike Wallace
Breshad Perriman
Kyle Jusyczk
Terrance West
Kenneth Dixon
Dennis Pitta
Darren Waller who probably outplayed Max Williams in his small handful of games compared to Max's 2015 season
John Boyle never does bad things when he's on the field

What more do you need. Josh McDaniels, Mike McCarthy, Sean Payton, Gary Kubiak - all those coaches would kill to have this personnel. These are coaches who are accustomed to playing with 3rd and 4th stringers or castoffs that wouldn't make starting lineups anywhere else. In fact, if Crockett and Ben Watson don't get injured, some of these guys would have been playing key downs for another team

In my humble opinion, that's more than enough talent to move the ball and get 1st downs. Any high school coach could dial up some plays against the most complex Rex Ryan or Chuck Pagano defense and still manage to convert 3rd downs.

What the heck more do people want on offense

But Brees had close to 5000 yds and 35 TD passes in his defense.

That's 'cause Brees and co. have a pretty good offense and OC as a whole and they don't throw nearly as many checkdowns, and their whole offense has been in the top 5 ranking almost every year.

Absolutely have no idea what happened to the run defense the last 3 games. They were either beaten up or exhausted. I'm not sure what happened there.

Just further proof that Harbaugh is terrified of giving some young football mind with new, interesting ideas a coordinator job for fear he will one day be his replacement. Harbaugh is a fraud with absolutely no say in the weekly gameplan. He is an overpriced cheerleader and when the Ravens fail to make the playoffs again next season, I will enjoy seeing him go.

none of these guys are studs or play makers mike used to be but none can get open or have the talent to take it to the house overtime they touch the ball so that being said we will not win anything with the coaching staff we have

Sorry to see you go. Many may not realize that large swaths of SC is infested with Steelers fans and Steelers bars. I thank you for representing in that hostile environment. It's one thing to wear your purple gear and display your pride in Baltimore but not many can relate to the pride and tenacity you need to do that when others around you don't agree. Thank you

I guess it really doesn't matter. The OC isn't constantly throwing off his back foot. Flacco is so inaccurate that he couldn't hit an elephant with a handful of rice. Let's face it the only thing all 5 coordinators have in common is Flacco is their QB. Maybe the problem is Flacco.

playmakers make something out of nothing like antonio brown did 2 weeks ago. they take over games . sss was that type of player especially in his prime and dixon/perriman? who knows about them but the rest of those guys are a dime a dozen. i would take a leveon bell and julio jones/odell beckham over these guys anyday
