[News] Fullback Kyle Juszczyk Uncertain About Future, But Says It'd 'Be Great' To Stay

30 posts in this topic

Come on Ravens brass, get this deal done! I can fully understand the Osemele deal (which doesn't hurt any less by the way) with him getting LT money playing guard. But we're talking about a FB here who was a decent part of our offense and a fan favorite, 2 mil a year for that seems plenty do-able. Maybe front office and Joe can hammer out a reasonable contract restructure, as much as I like Joe and want him to stay I don't believe his play warrants his pay.

P.S. DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO KEEP BRANDON WILLIAMS! He's a young key piece to our defense, I'm tired of seeing the coaches groom talent just to have another team finally reap the rewards after contract year.

Code words for "I'm leaving and not staying here and watch Pitts and Joe play catch"

Really hope he comes back. He's such a good all round player. Quickly becoming one of my favourite players too.

Would be good to keep him and also get him more involved. Basically keeping him should come down to how much they can use a FB within the offense. At $6 mil it would need to be more than they have used him.

I can't see us giving him more than a 2 year contract for $1.5M / season. Oz will manage to find a way to try and low ball him like he did with Torrey, Osmele, and Anquan.

Juice is a nice player at a dying position (only half the teams employ a FB). Re-signing him will be dependent on the new OC's philosophy. Likely won't find a FB with his athleticism (he's really added strength to go along with his speed), but more commodity blockers are to be had in later rounds of the draft or as an UDFA.

I could see the Niners, Rams or Browns making a push for him. I have a bad feeling about this offseason but I'm hoping for the best..

A lot of teams don't devote a roster spot for a pure full back anymore and I'd think he'd be a great fit for an offense that employs the H-back position like The old Joe Gibbs Redskins used to use. Of the teams that use a full back I doubt many of them would feature him as heavily in the passing attack as the Ravens do.

Kyle also plays on special teams which is something that doesn't get mentioned a lot. I think he's a pretty special talent because he's got Dennis Pitta hands at the FB position. If he was only a bit faster he'd be that much more effective. If he were 6'4'' or 6'5'' he'd be on heck of a TE.

I can't see him commanding a ton of money as a free agent but it only takes one team being silly enough to pay him. The Ravens also have 50 tight ends on the roster and could try slotting one of them in at FB.

I'd like to have Juice back if the offense is still going to utilize a FB, but that kind of depends on the new OC...or if we get a new OC.

Brandon williams is a poor mans damon harrison. He can't rush the passer to save his life and even his run D went downhill in the last 5 games. Need to move on from just space eaters and get guys that can rush the passer and defend the run

It would surprise me if they didn't get to work on Kyle's contract right away. He would be one of the easier signings to get out of the way early along with Guy's.

The top two FB contracts are Olawale (Raiders) Sherman (Chiefs) at roughly $6mill/3yr and and only a third guaranteed. It drops sharply off of a cliff after that. I can see testing the market having the same rude awakening as when Justin Forsett thought he was going to cash out. There isn't much market value for even the best FBs so I see the same small money /short term contract comice kyle's way. Its pennies from us or pennies from another team.

Agree. To many over rated players on this team and way to many roster fillers.

if juice is used correctly with better play calling and timing from Joe he could be a real threat...often times Joe gives him the ball too late, and he can't do much after the catch...and in a crunch as seen in the Pitt. game, he could be used as an RB if needed...i just think with the market he has more value to keep then let go.

AMEN! He is a RAVEN at HEART. If he walks then the Ravens have lost their soul.

Ok yes Kyle is a above average FB, but let's look at somethings here. We ran the ball better without a FB on the field period. I still think we are better suited using a big TE to block and catch passes out of the backfield. This will give Joe more viable options for big plays. Kyle is not a homerun type of guy and we have some on the bench. I just think our offense is set up to throw more like New England's and use better skilled players. Nothing against Kyle but that is what I see and we do run the ball better without a FB.

Teams like NE & KC know how to utilize such a talent. If he goes to NE and ends up with a ring, (like Darian Stewart and Owen Daniels did with DEN), then the FO can fire themselves.
