Have you watched some of his tape? I've seen him get blown up several times....he gets pushed back in the pocket often too. I know he rated really high but his tape isn't great

ive never seen that. ive seen him fail to get push and remain stationary with guys, which is why i had him graded as a mid rounder for a while, but he really stepped up in the playoffs and played far beyond anything he had done prior.

The San Diego Tribune did another two round mock draft. It had the Ravens taking Marlon Humphrey in the first and Demarcus Walker in the second. I'd rather get an edge guy in the first, but I'd be happy with this.

You like Humphrey? I see a mid 2nd rounder with him

Humphrey isn't liked much here but the scouting community seem to love him. His size, speed and agility are what make home so intriguing. He's got great press ability but seems to get lost after 10 yards. He tends to get away from his technique and lacks ball skills down the feild really but I still kinda like him for some reason. I think it's his potential cause there are times where he is technically sound and he looks like the best corner in the class. It's really just inconsistencies with him

I was thinking more along the lines of a CB in the first and Walker in the second. I don't dislike Humphrey as a trade back option, though I'd probably take Jones or Lattimore if they're there instead.

I really think you should take a look at him again. Look at his 2015 tape as a red shirt freshman, he was bound to have a slight drop off this year but he was still solid. He's really not stiff in his hips. Take another close look at him. I see a player with all the ability in the world. He's just seems to get away from his technique at times. He does have problems tracking downfield at times but he's always glued to his receivers.

Marshon lattimore had one year of tape yet we all want to peg him as the top prospect. Humphrey would have been tips of his 2015 film was this year's film

I am so weary of Alabama corners. They rarely go through the ringer or get truly tested because of the dominance of their front 7. You can see the skill set they have but it always appears skewed. I would without hesitation say that Jones, Wilson, Lattimore, White, King, Lewis and maybe even Tabor and Connelly should be ahead of him.

I think now more than ever that Lattimore will go off the board first followed by one of the Gators. I'm praying for Jones. So fluid and makes his coverage look effortless.

Walker is interesting because I like him but many were saying he isn't built for a 3-4 because he is too big. He is 280 or more, but I wonder if he could be a hybrid in our scheme, especially since we already have Bronson who is a 4-3 end anyway

Id be interested in Walker. I'm not sure the 4-3, 3-4 framing really applies to the defense since Pees has always run a lot of 4 man fronts anyway.

Walker's size is similar to Mario Edwards Jr., who excelled as both a 3-4 DE and a edge for Oakland (at least until the neck injury, we'll have to see if he can come back from that and be 100% again). I think Walker could become an upgrade over the guys we have. He'd definitely get more pressure than Guy, and could be a far more consistent pass rusher than Jernigan. He's someone I'd want if we missed out on the top edge guys. The defense needs a passrusher in general, it can be on the inside or outside.

That secondary's ability to cover also helps Alabama's defensive front. They were just the complete defense across the board.

I dunno if it's just me but I really don't like the idea of Demarcus walker - there's maybe 4-5 good prospects in the first couple of rounds that I just don't like - something about them doesn't seem to add up and he's one of them and I really don't know how to articulate what my dislike is

You're not alone.. I've only watched 2-3 tapes of Walker and he looked pretty flat footed with few burst and motor.

I might have to go back at them but he kinda reminded me of Ogbah.

Looks like experts are starting early. Daniel Jeremiah has use taking Quincy Wilson, although he has the Saints taking Tre'Davious White and Corey Davis going before Mike Williams both of which I highly doubt happen. And Mel Kiper Jr. has us taking Jabrill Peppers which I hope not I just don't see him being anything more than a novelty player. One turnover in his college career and he is supposed to be an impact player, no thanks.

The fact that ESPN still uses Kiper's "best available" as their barometer is the exact reason why I don't tune into them for draft coverage.  I really have no idea why they still consider him a draft guru.

I actually really love Mincah Fitzpatrick.

They might as well let Adam Schefter do it lol

You're not the only one. Looking forward to seeing where he goes in a year or two.

I think he's easily a first rounder.

More suprised by Hooker at 3. Thats a guy I guess that I need to look at more.

Hooker is impressive man.

Cant say I agree with Thomas at 5. He's a top 20 guy to me for sure if I'm disregarding the ravens, but 5 is pushing it way too far

I wouldn't mind Peppers but not in the 1st round. He fits the mold as playing physical and playing like a Raven. He is a leader in spades and plays with great passion and emotion. I'd take him in the second round but I'd think he wouldn't be there.

Sidney Jones or Q. Wilson would be ideal. One of them should be there at 16.

My issue is if Hooker is the Ball Hawk that people don't throw to in the secondary, then the corners on Ohio State are a bit more difficult to assess. I mean if you have that type of player playing over the top, the opposing offence is funneled away from that side of the field, and the corners have it ''easier''.

To have Conley, Lattimore and Booker all top 20 picks is going to come down to who is the one making the plays or influencing the plays the most.

Get this. Mel kiper mocked us Jabrill Peppers.......guess who the redskins picked at 17.......malik hooker lol

Scary part is that kiper mocked us Ronnie Stanley in his first mock. We would have been outraged if we took Stanley over tunsil at this time last year yet we did

Well at # 16 who does Ozz and co. select?

Capture.JPG

If all three of those guys are on the board at our pick I'm turning in Jones easily. Thomas just doesn't fit into our defense well, but aside from that honestly he's being overrated right now, people are still coming down from the bowl performance and eventually he'll fall back into a more realistic position, happens every year. This time last year there were people genuinely mocking Spence to us at #6. Jones is arguably the best CB in the draft, Thomas is nice but, like I said, he doesn't particularly fit into our defense, we can get a real edge guy at our second rounder that would fill our pass rush hole better than him.

And as far as Howard goes, he's a luxury pick, I don't think our FO is considering him. Obviously just my opinion but Howard is a reach at 16 anyway.
