Yep.  Hooker looks special to me.  It's not often you see a guy with that type of ability in only his 1st year as a starter.  He still has plenty to work on, but so many of the intangibles are already there.

he might be the 3rd guy in the entire draft class behind garrett and allen

I haven't done any formal rankings at this point, but I'd probably put him there.

What about Peppers? He is a talented kids, very versatile. He can be a corner, safety, PR/KR specialist.

I try my best to avoid rankings at this time because you could say this about so many prospects. We hear this narrative all the time and sometimes it's true and others it's not. Safeties don't typically go high and Adams is usually the name I frequently see high on the few mock  drafts I've seen.

I don't want him with our first at this time. I wouldn't mind later but I doubt he'll be around. Not the best fit

That's why I avoid it too.  I start really dividing players in March, but I at least get an idea of how much I like a guy at this point.  I don't necessarily believe that Hooker will go at 3, but if you made me do a big board today, I'd strongly consider putting him there.

exactly, he wont go at 3 because at least 1 qb and maybe 3 qbs go first in the draft and not all teams draft BPA like we do and might have specific preferences but on my board he's the 3rd guy - cleveland wont take him number 1 whatever happens, the niners have to be taking a qb and i imagine the bears will take either a qb or the best player on the board who wont be hooker yet

i dunno where he goes but he's my 3rd player, adams is my 4th guy at the moment - i think they are both high impact guys who have different styles - of course this might and probably will all change throughout the process but at this point in time so far i have hooker as the 3rd best guy even though i doubt he goes top 3 or even top 5

I would be happy with that.

Is T.J. Watt not an inside linebacker?

He's listed as a 3-4 OLB on their website and sits at #4 in their OLB rankings.

I thought he was an inside linebacker, but then I read he led the BIG10 in sacks.

Matt Miller has him as his 43rd rated prospect and 10th ranked pass rusher... Yes, 10th at 43 amongst edge rushers. He has 13 in his top 52, or literally a quarter of his top 52.

This is going to be a good draft to get an edge rusher in the second or third.

I've seen some people list him as a potential 1st rounder. But I completely agree, this will be a good draft for both edge rushers and corners.

I think with all the guys in front of him at edge rusher, he would be hard pressed to sneak into the first, but damn, this is going to be a good draft.

I've got tj watt as my 5th guy at the moment with a low 1st round grade on him

but yeah this is ridiculously deep and too heavy edge rusher class - there's just so many guys

I love the idea of pairing Dalvin Cook with Kenneth Dixon. I didn't get to see that many games this year as I normally do, but from what I saw, I thought Dixon was excellent and West was kinda underwhelming. Cook would provide the offense with an element of speed from the backfield. Considering what we have in Flacco, our offense needs more athletes. I doubt Cook is available at 17, but I wouldn't be upset at all if we were to select him.

I doubt he's available but if he is I think we take him in a heartbeat. In the AFC North we have a lot of budding stars as RBs which used to be our forte. We need to get back to becoming the unstoppable running force again and he would fit that bill! But, from the looks of it he'll be the first RB off the board and well gone before we get to pick.

Matt LaPan on fansided or NFLspinsmock had us taking Jamal Adams in the first and Charles Harris in the second. That would be an amazing draft

Lol, I would love that draft as well too. Although it's highly unlikely

Whyou does Charlie from Walter Football continue to mock Adoree' Jackson to us every mock?

charlie has nailed our picks recently. i think he was one of the only people consistently mocking perriman to us and he did it for months, when he wasnt mocking perriman to us try to guess 2 players who fell in that slot(before anyone could accurately project stock)... thats right, carl davis and maxx williams. when everyone was mocking HHCD to us charlie was mocking mosley.

this worries me, although i think its a littl tooe early to take that seriously

Both would have to significantly fall. We might have a better chance of seeing pigs fly across the draft room.

I would be legitimately pissed with Jackson at 16. Such a far reach. He is probably the 9th or 10th best corner in the Freakin class

i like jackson but i agree its a reach. and while we may have scoffed at picks like mosley and perriman we all knew there was reasoning behind it, mosley is a classic ozzie pick and even though we had art brown and daryl smith and needed a safety and hhcd would be there, we all knew it was a real possibility. and with perriman we knew we had to replace torreys speed and he had great potential but we were scared of the drops.

with jackson though... i just dont see it. i cant for the life of me imagine neither ozzie nor decosta placing adoree jackson higher than sidney jones or quincy wilson. there just isnt enough there to justify it other than the prospect of an elite returner and athletic corner in one roster spot, but thats just not worth the risk of a guy who has had to use his speed far too much on tape to recover after being beat.

id take him in the second in a heartbeat, i actually really like adoree jackson more than most, but i wouldnt touch him with a 10 foot pole at 16.

finally got around to seeing charlies new mock..

he is concrete locked in on us taking a RB in the second round and he doesnt give a damn who it is as long as its a RB. hes had us take royce freeman, d'onta foreman, alvin kamara, christian mcaffrey, and im pretty sure hes had us take gallman in the 2nd at one point as well. hes also been locked in on jackson to us for a while now.

im really hoping this isnt true. i know that harbaugh said we want a scat back and obviously we want a corner, but man if were passing up starting offensive linemen and guys like sidney jones in the first and guys like tredavious white and dan feeney and takk mckinley in the 2nd for a rb ill be pissed.

Any running back not named Dalvin Cook taken early by the Ravens will have me pretty pissed as well. Dixon looks like he's going to be a very good NFL back, but the reason I say I wouldn't mind Cook is because I think he's really special, and the value would outweigh the need. However, it would all depend on who was still on the board if they took Cook to truly form my opinion.

"I really like the football player, but I need to dig around more on the person. He had that domestic-assault issue, which our team doesn't tolerate. I know he got off from that charge but I can't put my name on taking a player until I have all the facts I can find." -- AFC scout

this was regarding Dalvin Cook and his domestic violence incident. Sounds like it could be a ravens scout if not I'm sure it's the same idea the ravens would have of him

he was also cited for mistreating 3 pitbull puppies.....his rep does not look good.....

Which even if the domestic assault turns out to have unfounded - the dogs and the rep will at least drop him down our board even if he doesn't completely come off it, but I can't imagine he'd be on our board if there was any uncertainty around the domestic violence issues - what was the source by the way?
