Mock Drafts from the Media

I would not be at all disappointed if we drafted Sidney Jones, Achilles and all, with our 2nd round pick.

I would, I think we need to hit on a 2nd round pick. I don't think we can afford to miss on it, in our last three drafts we've found little to no contributions from our 2nd round picks. Arthur Brown, Maxx Williams, and Kamalei Correa lack of contributions has hurt this team and they're starting to feel it. Pick someone who might not be able to make an impact his 1st or even 2nd year and that's four guys in the past 5 drafts thats given you near nothing. 2nd round is a place where you can find first round talent and guys who can make an impact, its almost like another 1st round draft pick in some sense.

I know this is an opinion of sorts but I've seen this in a lot of places. I would honestly wait for Jones till the 3rd or 4th round, I think he's a good player but I don't think he's a top level talent that we saw from the likes of Jaylon Smith and Myles Jack who saw a hard/undeserving drop and were considered top 10(Even as high as top 5) picks.

Yes, we will revisit this after the draft where I will likely say I told ya so.

Where do you plan on having these discussions since this board will be dead?

I mean the replacement board would be a good place to have it.

I would actually be really happy with this draft.

I have Harris as my 4th pure edge rusher behind Garrett, Barnett, and Williams.... so snagging him in the 2nd would be awesome. Getting Sidney Jones at that point would be a steal, Elflein in the 4th would be great value - hes the type of physical presence inside that we need; and his versatility is a big bonus.

Howard Wilson has all the raw traits you want in a shutdown corner. Needs some refining, but he could develop in to a long time starter, and could give us depth year 1 while Jones recovers.

Not a huge fan of Brown... would probably prefer a developmental OL, WR or RB at that point - taking a shot on a guy like Tarik Cohen if hes there..... but i dont hate it.

I just dont know how realistic this is. I have seen more people mocking Harris to the 2nd, though i dont think itll happen; but its not out of the realm of possibilities. but i cant see Jones falling to the end of the 3rd, Elflein still being there in the 4th, and i also think Wilson goes a rd or 2 ahead of the 5th.

I'm definitely starting to see Harris in the 2nd more often along with guys like Quincy Wilson and Tim Williams. I agree with Jones not being there in the 3rd. Elflein is the tricky one, he started off as the top center for a lot of people, now I see him behind Pocic and Walterfootball.com even has him ranked third 3rd behind Toth. I'm not feeling the Brown pick either, especially with how well we do with undrafted ILBs. In my eyes Wilson will go in the 4th, maybe even be someone's Comp pick in the 3rd..

this is just plain unrealistic - roderick johnson is not worth that 3rd rounder to be honest (not a fan of his game film at all), sidney jones probably wont be there still, pat elflein is going in the 2nd round probably, howard wilson is easily a 3rd corner and jayon brown probably goes undrafted if im honest

corey davis and charles harris is great though (not sure harris will fall that far but it's conceivable)

outside of its lack of realism, this would be an unbelievable draft - picking up 3-4 first round talents (probably why i see it as impossible)

So voch lumbardi did a mock draft and he had us take Malik McDowell.

No qb went top 15 and the only other guy worth taking was Ross or cam Robinson.

I love maliks potential but I really worry about his inconsistencies. But if he does pan out he's a top 5 talent. I just didn't like his interviews and he's a very hard study in terms of character. I don't think he's a bad kid, doesn't seem to get in trouble but he just seems a bit lazy and doesn't have a great work ethic.

Same was said about Stanley last year but i think that was a bit overblown

looking at the players taken i would have taken tim williams or cam robinson in that situation - or i would have traded down

I'd have reservations about McDowell but his talent is undeniable. He's gonna be a monster and he fits the 3T/5T hybrid mold very well. If coach brooks was still with us(RIP 😔) then I would be on board but im not sold yet that our new DL coach is the same kind of guy who can get the absolute most out of his players

I have to say. What I've seen from our dline coach he does seem pretty fiery. Plus suggs wouldnt have any of that lazy attitude. I love his potential and the way that mock draft went Malik had the best upside. So I wouldn't be mad cause I know the potential

I like coach Cullen and michael pierce developed well under him - and Timmy started the season well under his tutelage too

@JoeyFlex5 @rossihunter2

I think he could fit right in, watch this breakdown. Right on point

Oh I really like him on film - maybe more than Solomon Thomas - but the immaturity issues off the back of his combine interviews really made me drop him down my board - I think his ceiling is enormous but I worry about his baseline when he actually has to work

Ya that's true. I'm not sure he's a bad kid really. He doesn't get in trouble he just seems to have motivation issues. I think Harbaugh and our locker room can get that out of him really quick. But ya his interviews really were bad. He's not a good speaker and seems to try and avoid it.

I don't mind shy guys - it just sounds like he maybe doesn't like football as much as he needs to - or he doesn't care enough

- motivation makes a huge difference - so many talented guys just haven't made it because they don't love / care about football

its a worry but much like Tim Williams, if the doubts can be assuaged then I can get behind the player because the talent level is so high

Tony Pauline has us going Tim Williams in the first round, then he has us taking David Njoku in the second.

Depends on who's on the board - njoku would be out of left-field but Tim Williams would be a great pickup

The only TE we have the slightest chance of taking would be Howard as a BPA, and that's also unlikely with all the TEs we have already. Njoku won't be BPA in the second and we'd be wasting such a high pick on such a crowded position with lots of potential.

He's like a top 25 talent in this draft...he would definitely be BPA in the 2nd.

I more meant that what I've seen of him doesn't make him best pick for us in the second at such a crowded position. BPA wasn't the word to use.

Fabian Moreau and Quincy Wilson are two players left on the board.

This is one of the more competent media mo me I've seen. I wouldn't mind this if we were to trade back and pick Lamp. Rounds 2 and 3 would be awesome, but I don't know if Reeves-Maybin is the best value in rd 4.

My big problem with the pick in the first round is that Derek Barnett was still on the board.
