Thanks 89!  Love how you play the game, and your toughness!  Enjoy the fruits of your work and your family going forward.  Baltimore has been a better place with you and your family here!

Godspeed and best wishes!

Man I'm going to miss Steve Smith. I'll never forget his 2005 season when he absolutely torched the league, and the league's best defense in Chicago. Been my favorite receiver ever since then. Going to miss that energy on the field.

I wish he was here when we had Boldin, Torrey, and Jacoby. I miss them all, now add Steve to the list!

Steve truly exemplified what it meant to play like a raven. I'll miss the short jerk! I'll never forget his "blood and guts" game against the Panthers! At ease Steve!

SSS was built to be a Raven! It just sucks we had no secondary in 2014 otherwise we'd be in the Super Bowl that year.

Nonetheless, I will ALWAYS appreciate the intangibles he brought to the table.

Other than our beloved Ray, nobody has more passion for football.

Steve is the best, always has something to say, and backs it up with talent.  love this guy, best to him and his family,it would be great to keep him in Balto for motivation.

Thanks for doing your thing for three great years, love that you are a Raven!

Sorry your retirement game sucked Steve. :(

Good luck down the road.  Go be a great Dad and husband.  Your family earned it.

Steve you are an inspiration playing this game this long and as productive as you were I wish your passion and fire were contagious. Even though you were only here a few years you embody what it means to play like a Raven. You are a great man who does so much in the community we ALL appreciate you.

we hope we can change your nickname to agent 11 because hopefully that 11% chance comes around if you change your mind come back to us. You deserve better than that steaming pile of dung we left you with today. Congrats on a great HOF career.

Glad we had an opportunity to have SSS, elements for only a few years, because he always gave 150%. He did so for his entire playing career and even though Chris Simms doesn't ever remember him being one of the best receivers in the game, he will walk into the HOF downhill and on rollerscates.

Steve Smith, Sr.  When Ray Lewis retired and Ed Reed left as well....THE HEART & THE SOUL of this team walked out with them.

Your arrival brought a little bit of both....back to the team for me.

I'M FOREVER GRATEFUL!

Now, go enjoy your family Sir!

What an honor to have him in a Ravens uniform, just wish we could have had him for longer. The man is a Raven, whether he retires as one or not. He was an inspiration to watch - not just because he fired up the rest of the team but because he proved that if you have the heart, you can be a difference maker. Not just in football, but in life. We need more people like him in the world. And with any luck, more like him on our team going forward.

I wish him him and his family all the blessings and happiness life has to offer. Eat the gallon and have fun in Disneyworld in September!

One more thing - I don't know what the "rules" are for being in the ring of honor but imo, he definitely deserves to be up there even though he was only here a few years.

You have no idea how much I miss Derrick Mason. The purist comeback route in all of football. lol

Steve was ALL HEART! I am so glad he finished his career in Baltimore. I absolutely loved this guy in a Ravens uniform. I am still holding out hope for that 11% chance ;)

I hope at some point I'm as passionate about something as Steve Smith Sr. is about football. I don't care how long he was a Panther. This man is the living embodiment of 'Play like a Raven'. So disappointing to me that we didn't give this man the ring he deserves.

Steve thank you so much for playing the game with such intensity. I wish you could have spent your entire career in Baltimore. Enjoy every minute your family. You may be gone from the Ravens but not forgotten.

Thanks Steve, You made me think of Ray Lewis's passion for the game , the way you play should be the model for the NFL.

Harb's style of coaching scares players like you from coming to the team.

Enjoy your retirement, God knows you earned it.
