Interestingly enough the whole teams season is over..!
They should all just go to Cincy and have a team dinner with the Bengals team for as much as this game matters to either team.
TIME TO SHUT HER DOWN!

SHUT HER DOWN ! ! !

They should play their hearts out for one reason only... The names on the backs of their jerseys. Pride and the Ravens way.

This would probably have been a good idea for the Giants, Jets, Skins or Raider games !
Now would be a good time to let some of the newer guys get a chance to see what their potential might be.

If this guy could stay healthy.... who knows what the 1st pick should be! This soft offense is so disappointing at times...but when your team is made of 4th 5th & FA's, what to expect... Elam should go, Brooks went, Webb? Then I could include a couple 1st rnders on the offense side too... just an opinion.

How about trading or releasing Jimi Smith! Always hurt and not that good of a player! Has not proven a thing all year. We need new cornerbacks with desire and J Smith does not have it!

It's a nice thought there Mom and in most cases I would totally agree with you. The only thing that truly matters at this point is draft position.
I would find it hilarious if we didn't even get on the plane. A forfeit would secure a better draft position for us and a worse one for the Bengals, which would totally stick in their craw.

It wouldn't happen because of "Pride and the Ravens way". Plus, there's probably some NFL rule against it. I just think it would be really funny.

The guy proved that without him on the field, we are a badly ranked secondary.  With him on the field, we win games.

I find it so interesting that every year lately, we have this discussion after a really tough loss;  whether it's the final games of the season when we are playing to get into the dance, or if we are in the dance playing for our lives.  There are about 10 to 15 teams who could only dream to be in this position every single year.  I live in the midst of one of them...  Jacksonville, Tampa Bay...  and then there is Miami;  who this year will be knocked out most likely in the first round.  I'm just saying.  Call me an eternal optimist, but we are really really close every single year (except last year of course).  But I'm not sure that playing next week "for a better draft pick" is going to mean very much at all.

I'm just sayin folks...  Go out there and play your damn hearts out.

No reason to let pride and ego get in the way of logic. This game would be better lost so we get a better draft pick. Everyone wants to just win the game in december but come april we always seem to wish we were a position or two ahead in the draft. The only person who needs a win here is Harbaugh so he can keep another losing/even season off of his resume. Just my opinion of course.

Ummmmm.....  He already has a winning season.  The Ravens have NEVER played for draft picks...  and I sure as hell don't want them to.  Why should we start that now.  It's ridiculous...  for what, one spot higher???

i agree we are better when he plays but he has had one healthy season i believe which does not help us. front office has known this for several years now and have not fixed the issue. maybe now they have gotten the message after watching this defense the past 3 weeks

Ummmmm...the Ravens are currently 8-7. If they win next week they will have a winning record at 9-7. If they lose they will have an even record at 8-8. Dont get ahead of yourself 😀  And it's not as simple as saying "one spot". With a casual glance I see 9 teams that could end with an 8-8 record. I didnt take the time to look at if any of them are playing each other this week or how the draft positions would work out but losing this game would surely affect our draft possition by more than 1 spot. So yes we should start that now.

They drafted Tavon Young...  last year.  They  may look at it this year, but Jimmy is definitely a positive for this team.

Not going to happen.

Well if you are a gambler we know whom to lay cash on when he is out

YUP... Absolutely. The kid started 11 games this year.   He's missed a few plays here and there otherwise.  He's a good corner.

Jimmy Smith and his annual trip to the IR. This guy is overatted Young was just as good

No way, Jimmy Smith is a stellar CB. I agree, he does have problems playing a full season, but it's still much smarter to keep him while risking him getting injured, than let him go and hope to find a CB as good as him. Trust me, Jimmy belongs here.

Jimmy has to go, can't stay healthy, not there when you really need him.

So, we can find a suitable replacement for him with the $300,000 we'll save by releasing him? If Jimmy plays 3 downs next year, he'll be worth that.
