My mock draft

21 posts in this topic

Now that our year is over. Here we go

Round 1: Tim Williams DE

Though he has some off the field issues, after seeing us not record a single sack and get zero pressure on Ben in the last drive, I think we can probably look past that. Tim Williams would bolster this pass rush and bring further youth to an already young group of pass rushers full of potential. That being said I'd like to move on from Suggs and Dumervil as they aren't getting any younger and the injuries are getting worse.

Round 2: Desmond King CB

I love Jimmy Smith but I have just about had it with him. He is unreliable through the course of a season and with Tavon Young having a break out year, he needs to be paired with someone that isnt Wright and Powers. So help me God we will not see Wright and Powers in coverage again for this team.

Round 3 Tyler Orlorsky C

Zuttah sucks.

I doubt King will be there in the 2nd I would love it but moving on from Suggs is a little over the top

Too many injuries and remember he tore his bicep that he now has to take care of, hopefully before the bungle game he gets it started. At this point him and doom are just taking time away from these new guys we have

Suggs has been playing with a torn bicep since the Giants game and has played remarkably well in spite of that. Chances are that we will move on from either him or Doom, but we're not moving on from both at the same time, not while there are so many question marks at OLB. And since Suggs is an every down OLB still while Doom is just a situational guy, we're sticking with Suggs until he wants to retire in a year.

Can someone tell me roughly where we sit pick wise at the moment?

We'll be picking somewhere between 15 and 20, probably closer to 20 than 15

If we beat the Bengals, probably 18 or 19. We might get lucky with some tiebreaker and get 17.

As for this mock, if Williams is there in the first then he has to be our pick. If Williams is gone, I'd go with Elflien.

More of a mock rant than a mock draft.

King isn't there late 2nd.

I'd agree it's optimistic but not unrealistic. King has lost a huge amount of love this season and his lack of speed worries scouts. It'll depend on his combine.

Currently, they are at 17 with room to slide up, but not down.

Suggs was still the most effective pass rusher Judon was the only other person who could get pressure on the QB. Doom looks slow and I'm fine moving on from him but not Suggs. Plus a vet needs to show the young guys how to be a pro.

Yeah. They actually have a couple linemen in this draft I really like, Elflein and Billy Price. I like Elflein more though because he can be an elite center which would be a great improvement, and then can just move Zuttah over to guard.

Elflein would be a great addition to the Ravens. Has Price decided to enter the 2017 draft ?

He hasn't officially said it. I'm guessing he will since he'd have a decent draft stock, but he could return for another year.

Kings size will drop him, book it. It makes me even hesitant to want him because we already have a small guy in Young.

I think it's a fairly probable scenario.. Not even too optimistic considering there's always talent sliding to the second round.

I'm ok with getting rid of Doom too, as his cap figure is too high for his production, health concerns and dead money.

Pretty sure I'd stuck with Sizzle for a few more years tho. He's still a clever, valuable edge player and possibly our best DE on running plays. We definitely need a boost there, just not a major overhaul.
