[News] Joe Flacco Plays Well, But Laments Missed Opportunities For Offense

19 posts in this topic

Baltimore's offense moved the ball, but didn't make the most of red-zone opportunities when three passes bounced off receivers' hands in the end zone. The Ravens also left three points on the board because of a botched field-goal attempt.

Not flacco, it's the D once again they couldn't make a stop. Always in the 4th with less than 2 mins left they forget how to play football

Flacco has been mediocre and bad all season minus a game or two. I dont care that the defense blew this lead, the offense has been horrible all year.

I was wondering, when we had 9 seconds left, why did we throw it short to Pitta? That was a job for Camp. He could have gotten us a lot more yards and maybe gotten free. Marty needs to rethink his players capabilities and who best suited for what job. Not that that would have won the game but its just an example.

The real issue was not today's game. The Ravens lack killer instinct and it cost them dearly in the month of October when they dropped all four games. Even a split of those games and the division would have gone to Baltimore. You have to beat the teams you're "supposed to beat" so a road game against your biggest rival doesn't become a season killer. Even one more win out of that bunch could have been enough. Instead, the freaking awful Jets played a role in the Ravens fate. The Redskins are mediocre, and we didn't show up for that game. The Giants weren't playing well when we faced them, but we found a way to let ODB single-handedly beat us on a slant. Oakland is clearly a good team this year, but a late defensive lapse was also to blame on that day. I don't always feel like the Ravens know that there are only 16 games in the regular season. The sense of urgency has to be there every week. The killer instinct has to be there every week. When you're beating a team by 10 points, you can't go into a protective shell and hope to hold them. You have to score one or two more times and put the game out of reach. Let's hope the "always aggressive" mentality Harbaugh preaches actually shows up in the decision-making and play on the field next year.

Flacco needs help, The O-Line has been a band aid all year,...and now you see why we should RUN the ball! Geez..they better pay the kid Dixon, hes a warrior. if we can find a better balance of run/pass. Get a solid OG/OT we are gonna be ok..The D should upgrade secondary Too...needed

Yes, we were SO much better with Kyle Boller, Elvis Grbac, Stoney Case, Scott Mitchell, Troy Smith, Anthony Wright, Jeff Blake, Chris Redman, etc.

Joe played a good game today. You want he should go out and catch the ball after he passes it?

Our coaching staff 'sucks'. They are pure stupid. Look at other teams staff, i.e. New England, each time we face them they have new wrinkles waiting for us. We get the same sob story each week .. well, we need to get better .. we need to fix that .. we have to go back and look at it .. etc, etc. I believe Harbaugh has lost the locker room, no one is listening to him. We have talent, but no scheme or intelligence on the coaching staff to outsmart the other guys. Our offense is too vanilla. Please Mr. Bisciotti, clean house this off-season.

I miss the days when we could just pound it down a defenses' throat. Need to get O-Line upgraded in the off-season. Pass rush is also a big need. And while I'm at it, the secondary needs some Jimmy Smith insurance.

Well we were not paying them 22 million a year either. Joe sucks for the money we are paying. Hasn't evolved. We keep changing OC but Joe is common denominator.

We need some modifications there is no doubt. Zuttah is a drive killer and needs to go. If he's not playing turnstile he's holding and costing drives. Has to go. DuCasse is a joke. That's just poor coaching putting him out there. Jimmy Smith needs to go. Doesn't matter how good you are when you make that money you have to play or we have to give it to someone else, it is time now to give it to someone else. Smith should be traded and at least get a 5th or 6th round pick. Same with his buddy Wright, waste of uniform space. for years now we lose 4 to 5 games a year when our defense just lays down and teams just go right down the field and score and win. That's a trend and that's a problem and it's time that Pees goes. We have missed the playoffs 3 of the last 4 years and that's a problem as well and it's time to clean out coordinators and see if we can't do better.

That game reminded me of when Vinny T was here, then we got Ray.

We need another Ray! Actually we need a lot of things. How about a bruising running back like Jamal or Priest Holmes?

Yeah, there were scores left on the field. If Perriman had jumped to catch the ball instead of standing flatfooted, he would have made the catch. The Pitta play, although a difficult pass, should have been caught, after all he is a pro. The Lee Evans, I mean Waller catch would have been made if he hadn't pulled it into his body. Still it was a hell of a game,

A common theme with joe flacco and ravens offense.  Stop talking about it and learn to execute.  You are an experienced QB that continues to make rookie mistakes.

Also, penalties need to be reduced.  Ravens management must demand it.  Or else!!!  No excuses for continuing stupid behavior.
