Week 16: The Good, the Bad and Ugly Comment/Vent/Rant Steeler version

Cj mosley and Orr handed Joe to steelers territory.  Without it, Joe had 1 good drive.  1 TD out of all that opportunity and instead dud joe got Tucker scoring majority of the points.

Vs. Eagles last week.  Our defense literally hand-plated Joe 2 TD right on eagle's endzone.  Without it, Joe did didly squat last week.

Alright I'm out guys, some people are just too stubborn I guess

Dean Pees did a little bit of everything on that final drive. He played zone, press, off, blitzed, bluffed who he was bringing, brought four, and anything you can think of. The defense just got flat out beat.

Todd Haley just saw a weak link in Wright and went for it. The Ravens pass rush heavy packages (Suggs, Jernigan, Doom, Judon) couldn't get it done.

Offensively, no excuse to get into Steelers territory five times in the first half and get no points. No excuse to start on the forty twice and in the red zone twice and net 10 points. The defense gifted 10 points to the offense, but for the most part, the offense was largely ineffective. They could move the ball, but not finish.

This was a team loss. No unit lost the game. It was both sides of the ball and special teams with that blocked FG.

Great post. Seriously made a case for what cost us the game on both sides of the ball.

Please find a pass rusher

This is a big factor that not enough people are mentioning.  Pass rush didn't get there at all today.

But yet you make excuses for the defense giving up 3 TD drives of 75, 90 and 80 I believe. Funny. But if we're counting things from the 1st half the defense also had that pathetic excuse of a TD drive they gave up.

The Good: Joe put the team in position to win as usual.  Receivers (not named Aiken) stepped up in later drives.  Credit to the group.

The Bad: The secondary's regression. They started to make strides the last few games. Hope this motivates whoever stays to play better next year.

The Ugly:  "Justin" Juszczyk

Yea stubborn about not worshipping your mighty Joe Flacco.

Sorry i ticked off this Flacco worship forum.

We left off at least 10 points off the board kicking FGs that shouldve been more points.   Anyone past 2 week saw what happened w/o Jimmy.  Our defense were not going to be stout w/o him.  It showed.   It was upto our offense to win it.  Did not happen.

Noah Spence is 100 times the player though.

How do you know that for sure?  John Harbaugh doesn't like giving chances to rookies and waste them on special teams.

We need a pass rusher so bad. Suggs/Doom ain't getting it done consistently against the good Tackles at this stage in their careers.

We desperately need someone who can win 1 on 1 off the edge. Rushing 4 is so pointless against any decent OL.

Err I think you mean Ben did. They were two awful throws that if Joe made your be calling for him to be cut. You'd never even acknowledge there is another team making plays.

Two good drives actually against the Steelers that went for touchdowns without the counting the turnovers. Also that doesn't take into account Pitta and Waller dropping touchdown passes.

It goes without saying that Marty will be gone. WHEN will we finally let go of Pees? WHEN? We've been seeing this for years, but Pees is always given an excuse. Fire him and go after Gus Bradley. Please!

All of this, I've watched too many game winning drives on a Dean Peas defense, can't do it anymore.

Time for some major changes on both sides of the ball.   No pressure on Roethlisberger when it mattered.  What happened to the defense in fourth quarter?

It's sad when you have a ten point lead and you feel like your still losing I knew that wasn't enough. This loss is definetely on the D. We can't keep leads anymore. That is a bend and break D.

Are we just ignoring the dropped passes and touchdowns??

Joe isn't the problem.

But Flacco did his job - our receivers didn't. Or else 6 of those points become 14.

2008 easily beats this

The reason this stings much more is because i wanted to see SSS, Suggs, and Wallace beat them for probably the last time. I dont wanna see them go out like this...

thats why i still dont understand why he got that contract.....and to be honest that scheme was trash.....i would rather get beat with you running by me than giving you slants and corner routes the whole game

Us losing could be a blessing. This game made it very evident we need more talent at the edge and corner back positions. Getting a top 20 pick will benefit us in the long run. Just asking way too much of Suggs at this point in his career. Peas needs to take the fall for the late season collapse of the defense.

Clowns are gonna blame the offense for this somehow. The defense is overrated trash. Stop using the Jimmy excuse, he's not the only player on defense. They cannot make a clutch stop to save their lives and haven't since the Super Bowl. If Pees stays another season Harbs needs to go too.

The WRs and TEs are not playmakers, period.

Flacco and the RBs played well, as did the line.

Extremely overrated. Every good offense they've faced this year, they've ultimately rolled over (sometimes on consecutive drives like tonight) when it counted. Steelers scored 3 TDs in the 4th quarter! I don't care if you're the Browns. That's unacceptable. Just dumb luck or probability was on our side to keep them out of the endzone at least once in the 4th, but nope.

Time to clean house...

Wallace

SSS (retire)

Wright

Webb

Suggs (retire or cut)

Doom

... all need to be gone. Time to rebuild the WR, secondary and pass rushing group. You have pieces to start building the o-line. I love the LB'er tandem in Orr and Mosley. You need a ball hawker beside Weddle. Completely rebuild the wideout group. Wallace provides little if he's not catching deep balls. We need sure handed chain movers. Dixon needs to be the feature back. Enough of this 2 back rotation. You can't count on Jimmy to play a full season or suit up for big games, so corners are a huge need.

Had the same feeling. The Pats/Steelers have a 10 point lead and it's basically over. We have a 10 point lead and it's only a matter of time before we choke it away.

They flat out lost to a better team!

Should have lost last week to the Eagles!

Sorry but Suggs is toast as is Dummerville.

And please stop with Jimmy Smith out being an excuse.

This team is a shell of what classic Raven teams used to exemplify.

Ray Lewis must be sick to his stomach.

Harbaugh and the coaching staff needs to go.

Play NOT to lose and you lose every time!

Sooooo do we have a draft thread? And I hope they don't hold off the State of the Ravens forever and a day this year.

It's super annoying losing like this, especially to the Steelers. But on the bright side we weren't going to win it all and now we have a better pick. We have a lot of young talent. If we can add another good OL, WR, CB and OLB then it's a really talented team, but if Marty or Pees is still there they'll screw it up
