[News] Ravens Must Now Win AFC North To Make Playoffs

60 posts in this topic

I like it this way and I think the team will thrive under this pressure. The playoffs start now, lose and we're out. The team can do it and I think (and hope) they will.

most "experts" have the Steelers winning tomorrow anyway. If they do win tomorrow they have the Bengals/AJ Green the next week. We are gonna find out how good this team is.

"The Ravens didn’t get a Christmas gift from the Buffalo Bills this weekend"
Should never expect or count on a gift from any team or officiating they need to take care of business themselves the Ravens players and coaches put themselves in this position and kept saying we control our own destiny well we shall see!!!

The playoffs begin tomorrow. Can the Ravens go 6-0 to end the season?

This late in the season, if they can't beat the Steelers tomorrow then they likely wouldn't have gone far in the playoffs anyway. If they can, well, the sky's the limit.

rex ryan couldn't even win his last game with a huge lead at home in the freezing cold to a team that came from 80 degree weather, thanks alot sexy rexy! gonna be a long day tommorow if we have no jimmy smith and the offense comes out flat, wer'e due for FLACCO to have a bad game since his last 2 were ok.oh well, maybe we can draft a good QB we'll have a decent pick.

If the Ravens win tomorrow, they can still win the division with a loss to the Bengals if the Squealers lose to the Brownies.

Got to take care of business tomorrow though.

Let's see how Harbaugh's team performs under this kind of scrutiny and pressure. Will they get up for these last two games and play and coach like there is no tomorrow or will they repeat the same mistakes in coaching and execution? We'll find out by the end of next week.

Hindsight is 20/20.  Let's be real here!

The Ravens piss poor offensive gameplay the majority of the season and a few defensive and ST's hiccups along the way created this MUST WIN OUT scenario vs the Steelers and the Bengals...division foes....in their final 2 games on the road; something in which the Ravens are 2-4.  I want a win of course, but to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if our season comes to an end on Christmas Day.  Just the way it is because of how the Ravens and both looked and played this season.

Just to let everyone know AJ Green is not playing on Christmas and the bengals said they aren't sure if he will play in the last game. So even if we win against the steelers. The bengals are ready to prevent us from making the playoffs.

If the Steelers lose to the Browns there will be no NFL playoffs due to the sun colliding with earth.

The Ravens are about as healthy as they can be as a team going into game #14. Moving Brennan to the active roster is a good move, he is a good player and deserves a shot at helping this team. I'm curious about SS Sr.s Shoulder, he looked like it was bothering him quite a bit in the 2nd half. Suggs also is dealing with a hyper extension, he will battle through it. Hopefully we see Doom get more involved each game that could be a major factor in the pass rush situation.
my 5 Keys to the game;
1. Get to Rothlesberger- keep the pressure on him and make him miss his targets
2. keep the Pit run game in check, shut down the 1st down long gainers. and the big plays.
3. Go no huddle offense for as long as possible to start the game. shove the ball down their throat with run/quick pass/ downfield plays.
4. Counter the Defense with our strengths: if they play drop zone- RUN the Ball ; if the they load the box - quick release pass to the markers, crossing to our good hand TE and WR. once they adjust, burn them deep!
5 O line go have the "time of your life" ! its your Game. 4 games as a Unit under your belt this is when it all shows, this where you make the statement that it matters.

Just like there is no way an 0-13 Dolphins team led by QB Cleo Lemon could ever beat a Rex Ryan defense with Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs, Ed Reed & Haoti Ngata in their prime, right?

With Tuitt and Heyward out the Steeler defensive line is basically practice squad players. Our offensive line should dominate, which means run the ball at will and give Joe all day to throw. Long scoring drives, no penalties and no turnovers .....we beat these bums by 30.

Steelers....big deal, we should beat these bums by 3 TDs. We should dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.....as we have every game for the last 3 years. Pees needs to dial up something special for Big Ben and make him eat dirt every time he drops back. just like the playoff game in 2014.Their offensive line should have no chance against the Ravens front seven which is arguably the best in the NFL.
But the offense has a golden opportunity to shine. With Tuitt and Heyward out they have no D line at all....practice squad players that wouldn't even maje the Ravens 53 man roster. Harrison and Timmons are old and slow...no match for Pitta. Smith, Wallace, Dixon, West or Waller. Joe should have a field day.
No penalties, no turnovers and Tucker......we spank these guys for the 5th time in a row.

No doubt having to play the squeelers two times a year made the Ravens better and it created the best rivalry in sports but it's time to stop thinking about winning rivalries and just think about winning Championships! I'm jus sayin! The Super Bowl is rite there just play "RAVENS" football and that Lombardi Trophy will be rite there! Some teams do not want to play us again! KEEP SLINGING THAT ROCK JOE!

We have the Bengals for the last game with Green possibly sitting. They would never cave in and win play for pride just as the Steelers will do later today. If we take these two games,we would still have to deal with the gate keepers "The Patriots".

My Christmas wish is for an absolute Ravens beatdown at the big ketchup bottle and a trashing of the yellow towels.

Sounds as if you described us being a 12-2 team at this point. We are a VERY MEDIOCRE team right now.

Not today. NFL is week by week. Real fans know this. And we could easily be 12-2 with a couple different bounces. Go root for the Steelers would ya. Sick of our fans pessimism

The Ravens were 5-11 in 2007 when a terrible winless Dolphins team beat a checked out Ravens team late in the season.
