every game is different and played different, the ball bounces many way's.we go as our QB goes and HE is how far we go.which QB shows up will determine how far we go period.hopefully the offense has turned a corner,if they continue to hit the mark of around 25 points a game,or more then the defense can carry us.

Just goes to show you how difficult of a position cornerback is... a tough job on an island... Everyone else on D has many visual clues right in front of them i.e. other players... CB man-on-man... you can glance but you can't look. Even glancing can get dangerous for some receivers... Powers has been a godsend... A great new corner. Yes, if one is available at the right price... grab that guy.
Go Ravens!!!

Good point on the attitude... Every game is its own experience... Straight up tough with no 'I'm greater than tho' attitude. Bend, don't break and when an opportunity arises - take advantage of them. Go Ravens!!!

Everyone in the "media" has this game as a walkover for the Steelers. Even though the Ravens beat them earlier in the year.

Ben was praticaly in a wheelchair but still made a come back. If Ravens don't repeat mistakes they have a good chance.

Logic?? With Tuitt and Heyward out the Steeler defensive line consists of practice squad players. Domination by our offensive line is purely logical and that will result in an effective running attack as well as time to throw for Joe. Harrison and Timmons are slow and can't match up with Smith, Pitta, West, Dixon or Wallace. Should be a field day for Flacco. The offense will put up 35 if we don't turn it over and avoid penalties.
Defense is a big concern but at least we know we will dominate at the line of scrimmage. The Pittsburgh offensive line cannot handle the brutal strength up front of Williams, Jernigan and Pierce....backed up by Mosely, Suggs and Dumervil. I'm not even mentioning Judon, Z.Smith, Orr or Urban, each of which has been very good this year. Despite last week, the Baltimore defensive front 7 has been excellent this year. When I hear analysts say they were "exposed" against Philly I have to laugh. They were "exposed" in the prior 15 weeks as the number one defense against the run and last week was an aberration. Anyone that thinks Pittsburgh can run against these guys should look at the film from week 9. It shows domination at the line of scrimmage in each matchup which led to Bell rushing for 32 yards....and that was due to his extraordinary talent.
The Baltimore front seven is actually a front 12.....they rotate 12 players without a drop off in talent. This depth keeps the defense strong in the 4th quarter.
Unfortunately, the secondary relies heavily on Jimmy Smith, who is a true shut down corner. Brown has 2 TDs in the last 12 games primarily due to Smith. His absence will be felt but hopefully Pees can make the necessary adjustments to keep Ben and brown in check. Nevertheless, this has the makings of a shootout which is not the way the Ravens win.

Another nice "let's feel good about ourselves" pump up article that has absolutely nothing to do with today's game!

The Ravens are not the favored and they are not expected to win THIS game and rightfully so. Their game play...especially on the road...you know...being 2-4 and all has been extremely suspect.  And, all of this, the Ravens have "dominance" over the Steelers talk is a recipe for them to go out there today and lay a hot, stinky and smelly egg.  I'm just hoping that the Ravens will actually look like a pro team and compete in all phases of the game to get the "W" today!

Oh...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!! :Cool_408:

We have to start somewhere to get back to .500 in games won on the road. Win today and then next week and we do just that.

Are we 12-2? The last I checked we were very mediocre. Z Smith has been ok when he actually dresses and plays in games. Urban is a roster filler. I agree with Jimmy Smith matching up against AB as the numbers speak for themselves, but overall we are a middle of the pack team. Can the Ravens win the next two road games. Yes. Based on the way they have played on the road this year the odds are not in our favor. No Browns or Jags on the schedule here.

I am really disappointed at the lack of bold confidence fans and media have for the Ravens. We beat those clowns 4 in row. No wonder the NFL serves them up on X-mas day figuring let home field and the old 70s team (which no doubt will be there waving the towel) . Here are reason why Ravens can win

1. Steelers secondary stinks and we love to pass the ball.
2. Ravens have more weapons. Yes Brown and Bell are big time, but then what? We have Pitta playing as good as he has since 2012, Smith Sr., Wallace, West , Dixon, Perriman is good for one big play. Joe is playing better than the start of the season. I have not seen the off the back foot throws. He plays best against the Steelers. O-line is healthy and consistent line-up
3. Healthy pass rushers for Ravens
4. Smith is out but so is Bryant for Steelers
5. The best defense and special teams win these games. We have Tucker and a solid coverage unit

I feel better after a dream I had a few nights ago.I know its odd but I do dream of my favorite teams Terps, Orioles and Ravens and the outcome is always the same. In the dream we lost, the score was 3-0. My dreams never, ever come true, ever. I have dream of a Ravens win we lose. I dream of a Ravens loss, we win. Go Figure.

I really hope you are right and I agree and always said we have more playmakers . But I'm not confident today . Based on the totality of our season - offensive struggles . too many 2nd and 3rd and long , too many Fg not enough TDs , penalties , defense failing at critical times , some poor coaching decisions and very poor road play sum it up . And no Jimmy Smith ! All I want for Christmas is a Ravens win but just not confident

The will never win until we get receivers who can catch the ball, a quarterback that can put touch on the ball. An OC with some imagination. How many times did we get inside the red zone and can't score a touchdown. If Morninweg still somebody needs a saliva test. Quote from Charlie Eckman. C'mon man.
