[News] Joe Flacco Dreamed Of Playing In Games Like Sunday's In Pittsburgh

19 posts in this topic

We need to get the run game going as well. Joe can't throw 50 times in this game. Ben hasn't lit things up lately either. Just one TD last week. Unfortunately it was a back breaker. Go Ravens.

big time Games deserve - big time players , making big time plays , acting like big time pro's, and realizing only one team will come out on top earning the rank of AFC North champs Big Time" at the end of this one. course the Ravens will need to win one more to solidify, Steeleeers clinch. Ethier way is a huge statement,

"... but put up 27 points against the Philadelphia Eagles, 23 versus the New England Patriots and 28 against the Dolphins in the past three weeks."

It was 38 against the Dolphins.

The Ravens live or die on the strength of their line play on both sides of the ball. That was the most surprising aspect of the game against the Patriots, they were beating us on the line both ways.

Yes, we need Joe to play well. That means no turnovers. But the big mismatch we need to capitalize on is our offensive line against their front seven. Without Tuitt and Heyward the Steelers front is weak, to put it mildly. We need to run the ball down their throats which will keep Ben on the bench. This is critical since our secondary will have a hard time without Jimmy Smith. We also need touchdowns in the red zone. I believe our offensive line, with the emergence of Ducasse and Stanley can dominate this game. Once they have to load the box to stop the run Joe should have a field day against their linebackers. Harrison and Timmons are no match for Pitta, Smith, Dixon and the rest of our receivers. I honestly think we should score every time we get the ball....even if Tucker has to make a few 55 yarders. It will be 50 degrees or warmer so he should have good range.
The only thing that worries me is that the ravens are underdogs in this game....I can't figure that out. We have beaten them 4 times in a row and 6 of the last 7. But we need one more.

Ravens are underdogs because they are in Pittsburgh but that's fine by me. We just got to take care of business.

Dont get your hopes up, I have seen this movie before. Its all set up for Squeelers to win. This is what the Nfl wants, you will see the refs working against us this game.

The only way we win, is to play mistake free football, complete execution, and overcome the fact that the Nfl is preparing us to be the sacrificial ham for Christmas.

If we attempt to "run the ball down their throats" that will be a first for the 2016 season. I've not seen any game where we've really tried to play that kind of ball. It was understandable during the period where our o line was a shambles, but now that we've had the same group on the field for a while, it would be nice to see us try.

For whatever reason, the Steeler's pass D has been good vs. TEs, while overall their secondary can be exploited. While we all love to see Joe launch the ball downfield, some of our biggest gainers have been short routes to either Wallace or Perriman - where if we get them the ball in even just a little bit of space, they can flat out fly. I really do think we are going to work Wallace into this one. Not that I propose writing a game plan to fit some story line, but the fact is that often times veteran players simply take it out on their former teams in a big way, so why not? We've seen SSS do it to CAR, let Wallace do it it to PIT.

Shazier & Timmons are one of the best LB tandem against the run. Add in S Sean Davis & S Mike Mitchell and the Squealers are pretty good against the run (5th overall). Their secondary is their weak point (sound familiar?). I think we would ecstatic if the Squealers said their game plan was going to be to run it down our throats. We have to exploit those slow Safeties and rookie CB. Our WRs have to get open against inferior talent and don't drop the ball. Wallace & Perriman need to step up.

It's unfortunate that you're 100% correct, expect bias officiating.

Interesting take on it.   But the reality?  I wouldn't doubt it!

However, the officials could keep the game score to the spread if that was the case.

It was 38 against the Dolphins.

All we need is one to win. I see this as a low scoring game under 40 total.
