[News] Late For Work 12/21: Eric Weddle's Perfect Reaction To Pro Bowl Robbery

63 posts in this topic

FLACCOS 4000 yard season means nothing when you look at his td/interception ratio, plus his horrible turnover ratio.

You would look at it that way. Get off his back and celebrate his almost 4,000 yards.

No offense to Mosley, but I think he got in due to his overall notoriety from his phenomenal rookie season.  ProBowl is a popularity contest, and most fans don't sit and look at the stats before casting votes.

I think this alone makes your comment wrong, "graded out as the seventh-best linebacker" his play supports him being there. So I guess you don't look at stats before you post. Only thing is the guy standing next to him should be there also. Orr is the biggest snub and even the writers fr the Ravens are snubbing him because they didn't even mention him as a snub. Williams is another snub and I would put them both above Weddle because Weddle has made mistakes that cost us at least a few scores and possibly a game or two.

Stats rarely ever say the full story. It's stupid to allow fans to vote for something as important as this. It's basically a popularity contest and players on big market teams will regularly get the upper hand. Why not let fans vote for starters but coaches and coordinators vote for who makes it. I would respect it a lot more

Dont worry. No Raven will play in pro bowl... Brandon or Dennis, will not care, because they will play one week later :)

pro bowl is pretty much a popularity contest; so who goes and who doesn't isn't a true reflection of how well a season has gone. We all know who the best S is in the game, and nobody with any football knowledge would dispute that...unless you're a pats, in which case, you're a buffoon.

Agreed.

Flacco wins the Super Bowl,  people be like he's not that great, look at his stats. Now he gets the stats, people complaining we're not winning games. Flacco can't win for losing around here.

That trains never late. You're always there to protect Joe from the realists. How much does he pay you to be his online bodyguard?

Actually, I'm always quite baffled at how a lot of people take the Pro Bowl so seriously. Where the "best" players are supposed to be honoured in a sport that has tons of exact and correct stats to measure performance - and the "best ones" are still determined by voting... It's like determining the talles guy from a given set by, instead of comparing their actual heights, having others vote about who's the tallest...
IMHO it's rather hard to take it any kind of seriously...

I think only sport journalists, coaches, GMs and team captains should vote for the pro bowl. Fans should not vote because they vote with their feeling. Maybe we should have the probowlers ( voted by journalists, coaches, GMs as best players of the league) and then All Stars game where players are voting by fans. Right now the pro bowl selection is a joke.

We in San Diego know why Eric Weddle is not a pro-bowl safety. What you need to do is watch him play, and you will see that he avoids making tackles. Also, you will see him get beat for a TD more than a top safety should. San Diego doesn't miss him at all.

I just pray we don't have the nightmare scenario where we kick the Steelers backside then lose to the Bengals knocking us out of the playoffs.

San Diego doesn't miss anybody. They've been a non factor in the NFL for 50 years.

What stats? He's the 29th rated QB in the league!

As much as I dislike the Steelers, I always respected and appreciated Troy P as a player.

He wouldn't even be on my top 10 hated Steelers list.

We wouldn't necc. be out in that case. I actually think the wildcard is kinda likely for us if we go 1-1. But I hear ya. Its not for sure and we want the division and to knock Pitt out. A home playoff game would be beautiful. I'm hoping Green doesn't play. They won't have anything to play for

I absolutely agree. In football "soccer" coaches vote and they can't vote for their players so it doesn't get biased. Even journalists vote with emotions at times so take that out and send the captains, GMs, and coaches ballots without players on their team to make it fair.

then allow fans to vote for starters if they like.

Oh lord, poor bum hurt chargers....

that 5-9 record proves how well off you are without him lol

and I think it's hillarious that you had to make an account just to post this nonsense.

Flacco has averaged 272 yards a game this year so far. Considering how the Oline struggled during the first half of the season, Flacco has turned his season around.

He needs 213 yards against the Steelers to break that 4000 mark that has eluded him his entire career, which i feel he can easily accomplish. Everything else above and including the following week will be just added gravy.

He also needs 4 TD's to match his regular season total in 2012, the year we won the SB. Again, I see this as something he can easily accomplish over the next two games.

In addition, he is sitting right at his career average of 13 for regular season interceptions.

Love him or hate him, by Flacco standards he is having a fairly good season.

I love him but even I have to admit that he's having a below average season. He's thrown the ball more than any other QB in the NFL. He should be on pace to 5000 and the TD to INT ratio should be much better. I'm hoping playoff Joe shows up ASAP coz we need that guy

When did the Ravens cut Weddle? Cuz that is the only way he is advancing to the playoffs.

What steeler troll will have a profile pic of the 2 best players ever to play the game? Unfortunately since they left (Ray and Ed) this team sucks. They play soft, uninspired, lethargic, anemic, just plain boring and painful to watch. You can wear your purple shades, I am comfortable being a realist and understanding this team is garbage and has absolutely no business in the playoffs. If we are lucky enough to make the playoffs, what team can we beat in the playoffs?? You remember when Harbaugh asked: "Who has it better than us?" Well the answer to both questions is the same. "NOBODY"

then why bother even being on this site or on these boards? if it's that hopeless, root for another team. i'm sure the pats could use some more bandwagon fans.
