Pro bowl snubs?

And as much as I like Orr... no. Who cares about tackles? Pat Angerer lead the NFL in tackles several years ago. And where is he now? Nowhere. If you need proof, look at the defense without CJ

Exactly.  What did the Skins did once CJ injured himself after fumbling the ball throught the end zone.  They marched down the field on us, then we played the Giants and Jets without him.

CJ is the QB of the defense, or at least the front 7 and is integral to how we operate. The CJ hate I've seen on here is some of the dumbest crap ever on the site. He's had a few bad plays here and there, but his good far outweighs his bad. He's easily a top 5 ILB in this league who has far improved from last season. The people who say he's "just another guy" have no idea what they're talking about.

Who was the person who said CJ will never be anything more than a Lawerence Timmons type? This season should've shut him up

Who said they hate mosely? I love mosely! I def think he's a top 5 ILB for sure. He lacked on his coverage abilities last season but has improved big time!

Biggest snub has to be Weddle and I think that's a consensus across the league. And if you look a little deeper at a player that does there job so well, then you'd have Brandon Williams. Number one run defense, it's because of the big boys.

At least we're not the only ones who think that. Weddle was mentioned in the biggest snubs article on NFL.com

This year, Mosely is top 1 at ILB

Flacco

:rimshot:

Figured he would make it this year. The one year he doesn't deserve to get in, people vote him in just to be contrarian. sigh...

I've never once cared about the pro bowl, but i found myself very angry when I found out Weddle didn't make the cut. That's ridiculous. I don't think the fans should have a say, it should be the experts, journalists etc that vote. It doesn't seem exactly fair when you have 50 million cowboys fans voting, I'm surprised the pro bowl doesn't solely consist of their entire roster.

I do not understand why Weddle not making it in is a snub. He has shown terrible hands this season, tackling could be improved upon a lot and has been burnt in coverage numerous times. Does that sound Pro Bowl worthy. Look i know we as homers think we have the best talent but we do not. Weddle is a good player but he surely has had better years.

Well whoever says that either dont actually watch the games or doesn't have the common knowledge to understand what his job is and can't recognize the fact he's doing his job at a very high level.

Someone clearly hasn't been watching much of Weddle this year...

Weddle is the only snub that I think is an absolute travesty. Not that we didn't know already, but if this isn't a clear sign that the pro bowl is a meaningless popularity contest than I don't know what is. With the exception of one game he has played incredibly and is a huge reason why our defense took the next step into the elite category this year.

I can see people upset about Jimmy not making it, but CB is stacked and Jimmy has been injured and doesn't exactly bring home lots of stats that'd turn heads.

As far as Williams goes, nobody should have expected him to make it anyway. Run stuffers don't get their due recognition, Damon Harrison didn't make the team either.

I don't think Suggs or Orr should have made it, I wouldn't file them under "snubs," maybe they should have been alternates though. Maybe is Suggs were healthy then he would have made it, but edge is a very top heavy group, looking at who made it at OLB - Von Miller, Brian Orakpo, and Lorenzo Alexander - I'm not upset that he was left out in favor of those guys, he is one of the alternates and I think that's about right, though unfortunately none of those three's teams are likely to make the SB so Suggs will probably be staying home. Orr has strung together a nice season, solid all around, but he's not ready and there's no way he deserves to make it over Hightower or Mosley, again, perhaps he should have been an alternate but that's it.

If that's how you feel then you really must only be a part time fan because you clearly haven't been watching him play, just looking at the post game box score and blaming every long ball on him, and I don't even know where you saw him tackling poorly, that's just plain making things up, and he's dropped a grand total of one interception.

Weddle has had a few bad moments but look at the stats- at or near the top in tackles, pass break ups, and picks. 10th in the league in team pass defense, despite having a mediocre pass rush, a "rookie" at the other safety spot, a true rookie at one corner, and Jimmy in and out of the lineup. We're also hard to run on, so teams have come out slinging. Eric Berry is certainly the #1, but there's a strong case for Weddle at #2. Doesn't anybody remember last season's pass defense? Not that I like to remember it...

Every defensive back drops balls.  If they didn't they would be wideouts.  Btw, just look at who was picked ahead of him and you'll realize it was a snub.

Weddle's snub is ridiculous. Williams' snub is ludicrous. A case could be made for others on the Defense too. Suggs, Moseley and Jimmy have had great years too. The problem is you've got to stay healthy and be on the field to get the support. The most outstanding employee is only average if he's out on sick leave half of the time. I.e., you can't get rest on your reputation. A better question to ask is why even have the Pro Bowl. Its meaningless. Some of the best players decline the invite or can't play due to their other obligations. At least there's still some incentive in MLB to win the All-Star game. In the Pro Bowl, the honorary captains pick their players now. Might as well make it an honorary award if you're not going to give them a trip to Hawaii.

Orr deserves to make it. Hes been an absolute machine. Our defense has a reputation for swarm tackling and it's because of orr more than anyone. He's always flying to the ball like a missile and making a good stop. Seems like hes in on every tackle within 15 yards of the LOS.
