Not so fun fact: we're winless on the road when we wear our white jerseys. Smh...

The real issue is that they're nearly winless on the road period. The Ravens have only won 2 road games all year and one of those was against the Jags who normally wear white at home (at least during the summer months) so I'm not shocked by that factoid.

Twice.

Both times we were the "away" team.

Well the game is on at 8am on Boxing day here and this will be the one game of the year I watch the Ravens whilst having a beer, so I am looking forward to it immensely. I'll be watching the Cricket test in the afternoon and then going to a soccer match in the evening. I have bought the wife an extra special present this year in anticipation of whatever trouble I get myself into. Also my in-laws are in town. This is living on the edge, Aussie style!

This is the most Australian post I've even seen.

Ladarius Green's concussion history in San Diego won't be a factor in his evaluation this week, coach Mike Tomlin said. "We'll follow the protocol," Tomlin said. "Whatever they say, we do."

Translation:  I don't care about my players health.  I only care about winning.  I will do my best to influence the medical people to clear him to play, despite all the scientific evidence that says it's probably not a good idea.

Honestly, bro, thats crap. You don't know Mike Tomlin at all. This is one of these moments when your fandom is getting in the way of your objectivity and reason.

The other big issue is how poorly we have played on the road. It's becoming an annual thing with this team.

We are 2-4 on the road. Let's run down each game.

Browns: we could have easily lost this game. Browns imploded like they have all year. We're winning 20-0. We ended up winning 25-20 against an 0-14 team.

Jaguars: once again, came down to the final moments against another one of the worst teams in the league. Managed to only pull this one out 19-17. Jaguars are 2-12.

Lost to the Jets somehow who have been getting embarassed week in and out recently. They are 4-10.

Thats 3 teams with a record of 6-36. And we could of conceivably lost everyone.

The other three games were against actually good teams. Giants played them tough until Jimmy went out. OBJ torched us. Cowboys, played them tough for a half but they took over the second half on us. Patriots, the score was close but any sane fan can admit that we just got flat out manhandled. Was no where as close as the score. All three of these games were without Jimmy for some time.

But the problem isn't the defense. Outside of the Giants 2nd half, Cowboys 2nd half and 3 quarters of the Patriots game, our D has played well.

This offense has not shown up for any road game this year. If that doesn't scare people, I'd love to have their outlook on other aspects of life, too.

With Jimmy out Antonio Brown is a YUGE threat. We'll see if Wright and Young can limit him. Worst case scenario is our run defense decides to suck again and the steelers have a two dimensional offense. Hopefully Perriman can actually come on this time.

I guess that may be a fair statement, but keep in mind that many Ravens' fans knowledge of Tomlin's ethical standards go no farther than seeing him stepping onto the field in front of JJ :(  so not really un objective, or unreasonable.

Jacoby should have trucked him. Tomlin would have treated this differently after going through protocol himself.

I think I read that Tomlin said he would sit Brown, to keep the game fair.

I think the Steelers being at home for Christmas will be a distraction and we have the advantage being away for this weekend. It will be tough but I expect to jump on them early. Can we stop them when they make their run? It will be a good matchup in late December!

Exactly!

The Ravens are 2-4 on the road this season.  They beat the 0-14 Browns and 2-12 Jaguars on the road.  Definitely not world-beaters by any stretch of the imagination.

The mods warned me the last time we played the Steelers, so I won't curse (please read between the lines).....

I respect the team, but (new mod approved language) "I really dislike the fanbase" (please read between the lines). We can do this. Santa please bring me a nice present, I've been good. Please don't bring me coal. #LetsGoRavens!!!!

PS: God if somehow we get past these boys, don't let my Ravens sleep on the Bengals......

Hey man, it's the power of the purple (sans the DAL game), but I agree.

If we get into the playoffs, we are likely to only have 1 home game, in the wild card round facing the sixth seed. Then we will have to likely go to Oakland against them in the divisional round and then back to NE for the Championship Game. We have to win road games and that starts Sunday in Pittsburgh.

Jimmy playing or not will be the biggest swing in this game whether we like it or not. Obviously the play of the offense is huge too, but without jimmy. Limiting AB will be incredibly difficult.

Our game plan on defense needs to be to contain Bell and I am assuming they will run a lot and throw plenty of screens after this past week. If we can do that and hope we can generate a pass rush when the steelers go to pass then we could hang.

On offense, we must exploit that the steelers have a banged up defensive line and we cannot get away from run game even if it is only generating 3-4 yards per run. We cannot let the steelers to just sit back in throwing lanes. We also must pray Flacco makes no more terrible turnovers. If he does at least make it a deep bomb and not a fumble two inches from the sideline or a pick at our own 20.

I cheer against the Steelers every week, not just because I'm a Ravens fan but because I've lived in Pittsburgh for a couple years and the people are inherently unreasonable and I don't like to see them happy.

Fortunately, the Steelers have only beat the Ravens once since I've lived in Pittsburgh.

And if anyone thinks he was actually trying to trip a guy on national tv, in front of 50,000 live fans and refs......never mind, this one has been argued ad nauseam and no one is changing their mind.

You came here looking for objectivity?  Lol.  Good luck finding it.  Just look thru a couple of threads to see how far reason will get you around some of these parts.  Would assume there's also bad seeds on your forums as well.  Good luck and hope you guys get blown out.

You gotta admit that looked suspect... had Harbaugh done that during a Antonio Brown return I'd love to see what Steelers fans would be saying.

But it wasn't Jimmy Smith that limited Antonio Brown the last time it was Tavon Young with safety help.

And the only way that it was possible for them to do this was because Jimmy locked down the other half of the field and received no safety help. Do you really want Wright or Powers to be one on one with no safety help?

It plays a major impact because now if you have to sit both safties in coverage that takes one more guy out run coverage. I don't need to tell you how their running game is and who their RB is.

Too many people act like Jimmy only affects the guy he's strictly on. It changes the whole way the defense can play because he's not there.

Naw B!  Can't let that go brah!  If anyone thinks that he "wasn't trying" to trip a guy on national tv, in front of 50,000 live fans and refs....never mind!

Seriously though...in reference to that stunt he pulled against Jacoby....Tomlin said that he watches the games on the big screen cause it's better for him to see. What?  So, you're the H.C. and you're on the sideline but you can see the game better on the screen?  C'mon now!

The interesting thing to me is that since that game...that night...Tomlin has not even come close to watching the games on the screen as he mentioned.  He always seem to be looking on the field itself.  Dude got caught...tried to excuse it away with a serious looking face at the presser but it doesn't fly!
