On paper, it looks like we have no chance.  And I'm sure all the media will point that out over and over again all week. This is where the Ravens shock the world and take down the Steelers in there house!  What a beautiful Christmas present that would be!

How exactly would that be a shock? We beat them 5 times out of last 6 games. Even 5-11 Ravens beat them twice last year.

Ravens defense goes from #1 in the league in games Jimmy Smith is in to #27 the ones he is not in

Is this actually statistically true (link?) or just hyperbole to emphasize the point. If true, wow...get well Jimmy!

Really hoping Jimmy Smith comes back to practice this week. We need him out there on Antonio Brown. And if our run D could return, that'd be nice too.

I wonder if there's any chance of that happening? I haven't heard zilch.

Anyone have any news on injuries?  I know Suggs hurt his elbow and missed his post-game presser but Camp disappeared during the game. Is he hurt again?

Please say it ain't so...camp we can afford to lose...but no suggs against Pittsburgh would just be a back breaker. I can't imagine him not playing unless HIS back was literally broken. That rivalry just don't feel right without him and would really damper the matchup.

Its crazy we have to finish  6-0 against the north in order to win it. I just hope my Xmas isn't ruined. And I really hope Miami loses so there's atleast hope and something to play for week 17..

Not sure what you are proving by this? The poster said that they were #1 with Jimmy on the field and games when he's not they drop down to #27.

Posting a cumulative season long stat of our defense, which has fallen 3 spots without him actually giving his argument credence, does not prove or disprove his statement.

If you look at it week by week, it's just not true.  Simple as that.

What actually brought up our ranking was our run-D (until yesterday), more than our secondary, even though he does significantly help our passing D.  There are just way too many factors to make that kind of statement.  Just like the Dallas game when we held Elliott to under 100 yards.  Only 2 other teams had done that, and only in games 1 and 2 of the season respectively. I was looking at each individual stat too.  That in NO WAY takes us all the way down #27.

Well, here we go again. Ravens have won four straight against the Steelers. Harbaugh does a great job getting his team ready for the Steelers. Records and home field are meaningless at this point. I cannot see the future so I am not going to predict a winner. My brief take on the game:  Bell will get his yards from scrimmage. The key will be whether the Raven defense can cause Big Ben to turn the ball over. Flacco probably needs to stretch the field a few times. The Ravens will need to establish at least some running game to make that work. Interesting view on the Steelers...during the five game winning streak, Ben has not actually played his best. He has not been in great rhythm for most of the last three games...just enough to win. However, the much maligned defense is greatly improved. Granted, we have not played offensive power-houses but we are getting way more QB pressure, sacks and a few turnovers. Teams haven't scored much on us during this streak. We have a couple young guys, Artie Burns and Russ Cockerel that have grown into their roles. Shazier has become a genuine stud. Bud Dupree is finally healthy and is becoming  what we had hoped Jarvis Jones would be. (Jones is mostly a bust). It is no small loss if Stephan Tuitt is out. He's a beast. Other than that, we are surprisingly healthy for this time of the season. That's my quick fan scouting report. One of us is going to have something extra to celebrate on Christmas. But in any case, Merry Christmas Raven's fans. I hope you and your families are blessed in all the ways that really matter this holiday season!

Here's another one.  It's a homer article, but I can find NOWHERE where it says that we are ranked 27th when he is out..

Reading that first sentence never gets old 😂.. feel like the streak will end on Christmas if Jimmy smith isn't back (obviously highly possibly even if he is)...

i always look out for your posts even if you are annoying 😉

Eh, don't worry about her.

Good luck for this one (but not too much!). These games are always a coin flip, though if Jimmy can't play for us we'll be in all kinds of trouble (but then I honestly thought the same thing when we didn't have Joe last year so that goes back to the coin flip). Has Jerald Hawkins played much for you guys? He was someone I liked pre-draft but I haven't seen many games for obvious reasons.

The Ravens have so much to lose than the Steelers in this game. Even if we beat the Steelers on Christmas, they still have a chance to win the division due to we have to still beat the Bengals while they have the winless Browns at home which it would be a cakewalk for them. We got to take care of business this next two games if not there always next year. 😊

Considering how poorly Ben has played lately this could be close.  Also, Green is out.  No idea which offense or defense will show up.  Hopefully, it won't get too out of control, unless it's in our favor because I'm not trying to be that angry drunk around family on Christmas.

Won't shock Ravens fans or the most knowledgeable fans...but will shock the media and the casual fans that marvel over Big Ben and the Steelers.

I'm seriously contemplating not watching the game until the 26th. I'd rather not risk ruining my Christmas.

Could you really resist watching the score ?
