Great to compare one games outcome to the next.  Cause look at how we imposed our will against that ferocious Jets team and then what we did against the Dolphins...

This offense sucks and now the run defense seems to have struck a leak.  We'll see next Sunday though.

I agree and that's my point, just because we were lackluster today doesn't mean we'll lay down next week. Also, they weren't that great today either, gonna be a tough game to win, that's for sure. I do agree that it is concerning our run D looks worse, seems like a structural development, their spirits were broken in NE and it's spilling over, this was the one area I never feared and now I fear it too. With no Jimmy we need a strong run defense or it could be a long day.

Le'Veon Bell has been injured/suspended so often, I can't actually remember if we've ever played him before.

So, the Bungles either faded like a cheap sports coat OR they laid down in the second half at home. Thanks, Marvin! We beat a dangerous team today because they had nothing to lose and they played as loose as a goose, going for it several times on 4th down. There is no reason to think we cannot beat the Squealers. They have some weapons but so do we. I think they will not have enough answers for SSS, Aiken, Perriman and the former Steeler Wallace and our stable of RBs will run through them like a stampede of horses, not to mention Juice and our secret weapon, The Campanero Factor. We have learned how to beat Spittsburgh and have built the team specifically for that purpose. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself. If all else fails, we have Tucker who can sing and kick his way into the HOF. Let's do it! Let's be the Grinch that stole Christmas in Pittsburgh. Go, Men, go!

PS - If we're up by 10 points with 6 to play, run the ball, Coach, and send the league's best kicker into the game to seal the deal!!!!

Offense needs to play better. I understand that Pitt is a place where a lot of teams lose, but play like you have the past 2 games and you might not win. Run D needs to play better this week because I'm sorry, Le'veon Bell is no joke.

Bell doesn't scare me. He studders was too much and just waiting for a hole. When he does that it gives the Ravens much time to make a tackle. I believe that we are gonna stop him like we did in Baltimore to be honest but the running defense gotta be on point at this game.

It's different if their at least in similar circumstances. Pitt played them week 3 without Bell and Wentz on a roll, and it was in Philly. Now conversely just a couple weeks ago they went into Cinnci and got trashed.

Just some thoughts on bettering the team for this playoff push continuing next week... (I'm not the best with play designs and understanding certain concepts but I'm trying lol)

- Alex Lewis has to be an upgrade at this point over Ducasse, right? I think we really need him back and start him at RG.

- We seem to run the ball up the middle too much, and also run it through the weaker side of our O-line. We have Yanda and Stanley on the left side. Run it through them! (Example: the play we gave up the safety vs the Pats). I think we should try more of the pitch outs like the one we did today. Sure, it won't work every time, but it helps us become a little less predictable than we already are.

- We need to change routes or something because these receivers aren't getting open enough. While some of that falls on the WR core, some of the play designs I see are horrible. Marty's gotta be mor creative.

- If we can get a little more interior pass rush, that'd be nice. I see Dumervil coming around the edge a lot, but he's always just a tad late. He's forcing throws though. That'd help our secondary out a little bit. Let's hope Jimmy is back next week, which is a big question mark right now.

BUT....they utilize their so-called "weapons" waaaaay better than the Ravens do imo!  And besides, they fight hard until the end and they play with extreme confidence.  Their coaching staff actually plays to win games.  Unlike the Ravens coaching staff which plays not to lose games.  Big difference!  And, they are at home this time around with more at stake than our previous meeting!  I believe that Tomlin will have those boys foaming at the mouths and ready to put us out of our misery on Christmas Day at the big ketchup bottle.

He's a patient runner with Spider-Man like vision.  Don't confuse it with dancing.   We just made Ryan Mathews look like an All-Pro.

On the plus side, Green might be put.

This could be a long game.

Have some anxiety about this game but it's hard not to with so much on the line. Playing @ Pittsburgh makes me uneasy, tough place to win this time of year. Something tells me we won't have Bell bottled up like we did in the 1st meeting, I expect a much more dynamic performance from him both on the ground and through the air. Flacco & company have to show up and have to make a few splash plays.

Ben will find ways to put points on the board, count on that. This game is really riding on which Flacco shows up. Boy am I happy to have Tucker for this game, having a reliable kicker at 50+ yds is such a weapon to have in a game like this.

I'm pretty scared, but I'm also excited for this. It's Ravens-Steelers on Christmas, battle for the division. Hard to beat that. Let's hope we keep our streak going against our rival, and REALLY hope Jimmy Smith returns.

The performance against the Eagles was not good but we got the result, thats all that matters in professional sports.  Forget that now (even though I had a bit of a rant about it...apologies).  I think we will defeat the Steelers, in their own backyard on Christmas day, now thats gonna be good.

Let's hope they "unleash hell"

yes they "utilize" their weapons better cause their top two weapons are arguably the best in the league for their position

youre talking in comparison

Terrence west vs Leveon Bell

Steve Smith vs Antonio Brown

ummm yea one side is going to be "utilized better"

Took the words right out of my mouth.

To win we need the D to step up big time and we need our receivers to up their games. Run better routes, play physical and CATCH THE DAMN BALL!    lol

Or it gives time for a lane to form. He doesn't jump step for no reason, it's called patience and vision and it's critical for a NFL rb to have.

Anyone have any news on injuries?  I know Suggs hurt his elbow and missed his post-game presser but Camp disappeared during the game. Is he hurt again?

Flacco has to be great and avoid the inexplicable for us to win. Not too much to expect that our quarterback shows up for sixty minutes in the biggest game of the year.

Roethlisberger is susceptible to poor throws under pressure of late. More so than in the past he seems a bit shakey.

Pees and co. must find a way to get pressure and hits on QB.

For all of the flack that their offensive line has gotten in the recent past, they are now probably a top 5 O line unit. They are carving out lanes for Bell and have only let up something like 17 sacks all year.

We are probably going to have to bring pressure to win this game. Which, if Jimmy isn't back and he more than likely won't be, could prove very problematic for our secondary, if the pressure is not getting there.

Ravens defense goes from #1 in the league in games Jimmy Smith is in to #27 the ones he is not in. I'm afraid of a blow out if the Ravens don't have him and to be honest it doesn't sound good if he hasn't started practicing and the team hasn't announced further news on his injury. Lardarius Green is going to be a problem for the team... Taking away Weddle or Webb every play to cover him. Which is going to open up Antonio Brown more often than not on 1 on 1 coverage against Shareece Wright or Tavon Young.

Jimmy Smith is the player the team could least afford to lose. Especially against a top 3 receiver in the NFL that is on the same team as a top 3 running back in the NFL.

On paper, it looks like we have no chance.  And I'm sure all the media will point that out over and over again all week. This is where the Ravens shock the world and take down the Steelers in there house!  What a beautiful Christmas present that would be!

I hope you are right! Also the way the Bengals took a fight to the Steelers last week means that Week 17 won't be any easier either... I felt a lot more comfortable last week about this team and I'm sure a majority of people did as well.

Bengals played the Steelers to the wire and probably would have won if Dalton didn't play like he did in the second half. First half they were rolling on offense and that was without Green. They are getting him back this week so he should be all systems go by our game.

I like to be an optimist, but I just don't see how we win both of these games, both on the road where we are not very good, without Jimmy playing.

I'm concerned about this run defense. They looked awful against the Eagles who don't even boast an impressive OL. Outside of our game I read that the Eagles only had three games in which they averaged more than 3.0 YPC. Not to mention that their passing game wasn't even going anywhere, so the fact that they ran it on us like that in obvious running situations was shocking to see. I never anticipated our run D getting gashed like that.

Now you're going up against Le'Veon Bell who in my opinion is the best RB in the league and against a better OL. I don't know how they will preform, not to forget that Jimmy could very well miss this game. All of that makes me very concerned about the defense as a whole.
