You call the way Cincy played in the 2nd half of that game a really good fight? I call it laying down with or without "Perfect" Burfict. That was disgraceful. I think they led at halftime 20-6 and failed to score in the 2nd half. They lost 27-20, right? It was downright pitiful!

Well they were leading 20-6 in the first half right? Yes they ended up losing but showed they were totally capable of winning against a top side. That was my point. So unless we play relentlessly and well for 8 full quarters over the next 2 games, it is going to be tough sledding. Also, its been a while since we won a road game against a good team. Even if I concede that we may be playing only one top team, that is still 50% of the draw.

This is the perfect scenario for this game. It's being played right around Christmas dinner time with our destiny being served on a silver platter. I expect our boys to come in with an enormous appetite and just FEAST all game long while we sit there stuffing our faces. Go :baltimore-ravens:

is it me or flacco is horrible in moving in pocket? i mean he pulls  a bledsoe and stays back where the passrush finds him, like freaking statue , he doesn't move up the pocket like regular QBs, lol

That's because Zuttah is pushed onto his lap every play

Even though we're missing our most important player(Jimmy) I think we can still at least be competitive.

I hope Perriman at least actually does something this game.

Tomlin's explanation was entirely reasonable...he was watching the big screen, saw the play was coming up on him and planted his foot to jump out of the way.

http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap2000000289505/Jones-dodges-Tomlin-on-big-kickoff-return

Watch at the 40 second mark he turns his head towards the game, about 8 yards from jones. You would think that if he wasn't intentionally trying to do it, he would have:

1. Not stood on the field

2. Not been looking over his should at the field where jones was

3. Not taken his sweet time to react

4. Not "planted" his leg farther into the field to disrupt the running lane

5. Not smirked like he knew he got away with something

6. Been seen doing this at literally any other time in his coaching career

Seems like quite the indefensible act, water under the bridge at this point though. At least the good guys still won.

Hoping they give more chances to Waller this game. Guy hasnt done a ton but over time this dude could be a beast. Did you see how he fought back 6 eagles to get the first down? And the fact he could still add some muscle to this frame and keep the same speed will definitely count as an asset going forward.

I've seen Waller open plenty of times, it feels like Joe just might not trust him enough or looks to much to other guys. Hard to look his way when you got Steve Smith and Mike Wallace there then Pitta as a safety blanket. Waller along with Perriman are 4th options on nearly every play and QBs don't have enough time to go to their 4th read.

I wasn't trying to convince the true believers.

Yes, on the face of it, I understand the response. Of course fans on both sides are going to see this through a homer lens. Steeler fans would have said exactly what Raven's fans have said. But time has gone by now. We can take a deep breath and be objective. Tomlin's explanation was entirely reasonable...he was watching the big screen, saw the play was coming up on him and planted his foot to jump out of the way. It would have been entirely ridiculous for him to try and trip Jones. Had it actually happened, the ramifications would have been serious, financially painful and harmful for Tomlin's role as an NFL head coach. He just wouldn't have intentionally done that. He just wouldn't. So to throw this out (as the poster did) as an example of Tomlin's ethical standards is ridiculous. Look, Harbaugh struggles with sportsmanship. He isn't the best responder when his team loses. In the aftermath of a game he sometimes blames the refs. But guess what, that doesn't make him an evil or unethical person. It bugs me when he does it (mostly because it empowers the conspiracy theories of fans), but I don't judge his whole coaching career by that character struggle. I battle with it myself. I would never accuse Harbaugh of intentionally risking his players health. It's just a bogus charge from someone who, quite frankly, just doesn't get. Tomlin does not intentionally risk his players health. He is a players coach.

Naw B!  No "homer" lens needed for that move brah!  I haven't seen Tomlin do that since that game.  And "IF" anyone truly believes that his explanation for being on the field...at that specific time and point in Jacoby's run was "reasonable" I have some land on the moon to sell them...ASAP!

Now, none of that has anything to do with Sunday's game!  We're just reminiscing about it.  Sunday's game will stand alone all by itself.  Definitely should be a great one between our teams as always.  Much respect to the Steelers.

Well, since someone I know decided to be a jerk I have to work on both Christmas Eve AND Christmas Day, sucks that I'll be working a long shift in some retail store while everyone else's families are together and watching our home team play. I haven't been able to catch a break in a while. Hope everyone else has fun watching the game cause I sure as heck won't be. (:

I'm on mobile and can't see the entire list (too lazy to search for it), but I wouldn't be proud to claim all those names.

The Steelers have definitely drafted well and they usually do a pretty decent job of fielding a competative team, but I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better drafting GM than Ozzie, and that's not an indictment on the Steelers; rather Ozzie has just set the gold standard. SOMEONE has to be the best, after all

Watching "The Final Drive" video, Garret said that the game will be broadcast nationally on NFLN.

Is there no regular network carrying that ? I am going to be in Massachusetts. I can listen on Sirius, but that is hardly the same.

Nope, just NFLN.  Locally it is being carried on NBC (WBAL).

Retail stores suck and are selfish. I hated working retail. Hopefully you get compensated nicely.

How likely is it that Big Ben comes out targeting our corners considering Jimmy is out?

Feed it to Wallace- he did outstanding against his former team when they played last month and I'm sure he'll be playing hungry again.

Perriman...well, he needs to spend about another 20 hours on the JUGS machine. Drops are rearing their ugly head with him. But hey, at least he's really, really fast.
