Ed Reed -- One Of A Kind -- Pittsburgh Respect

6 posts in this topic

You should know that Ed Reed gets respect in Pittsburgh, especially from real football fans in Pittsburgh and the local sportswriters...not the smack-talkers you see here. Trust me when I tell you that Pittsburghers know there's none better than Reed. Congrats Baltimore! Reed is to be feared by those who favor the Steelers. And may the best team win, and may the refs have nothing to do with it!

Wow. Good article. I'm surprised that a Steeler fan would admit that Ed Reed is a better safety than Troy P, especially when there are such strong arguments for both.

Another slightly apples/oranges comparison, but Reed deserves all the credit he gets.

I think Polamalu is better than Reed in run support, but what gives Reed the edge overall is his ability to score.

He is probably the biggest concern I'll have watching tonight's game. A pick 6 from Reed could easily be the deciding factor between two evenly matched teams.

He's fun to watch(when we're not playing him). :) :o

Reed is a FS; Polamalu is a SS. They play to different strengths.

Suffice it to say if you had Ed and Troy playing in your secondary, you could probably field 3rd string corners and still have a shutdown secondary.

Troy and Reed in the same team would be all the way dominant with a decent front 7.

i love the comparisons between the 2 and i'm sure they do to
ed has stated that troy is his favorite player in the nfl and they talk regularly. that's respect. even tho when it's game time they see each other as public enemy nimber 1
