[News] Who's Playing, Who's Not vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Smith has never stayed on the field but to me the biggest disappointment has been Eric Weddle. Talks too much and gives up too many big plays. That one against NE was a 79 yard touchdown. What a joke our DBs are again. Embarrassing performance. Ravens can't play with the top AFC teams again this year.

Weddle is trying to make up for the talent around him and let's himself get exposed.

I agree, I think the reason why he looked responsible for that bomb against NE is because he realized that Elam blew the play and he tried to make up for it. You can tell he was breaking another way. Thing is, if I am the defensive coach and I know what I got with Elam, why am I not giving him help over the top? Why do I let him cover ANYONE man to man?

Weddle has played with a guy in Webb who is in his first season back at safety since playing it in college and then Elam. Then he's probably trying to help out the corners when Smith isn't on the field. Weddle is only one guy and he's been rated one of, if not the best, safety in the game by PFF. The problem isn't Weddle.

My optimism is fading now that Jimmy is hurt again. Wright is awful and I mean really awful. He will allow philly to throw downfield all day long. IMHO when healthy, Jimmy and mosley are the 2 irreplaceable players on our defense. I don't understand how some of the posters can't see how important he is. Did you not watch the giants game? Couldn't have been more obvious. What I really worry about is jimmy missing the pit game. We would be toast in Pittsburgh. And cincy? Might be over folks.

Not to worried about Smith missing the Beagles game. Can you even name one of their WR's? You think we've had O-line problems, I believe Philly is on their fifth tackle this year. And Wentz is going to see a defense like he's not seen all year. Add in the fact that the Raven's are seriously P.O'ed about losing to the Pat's, and it's our final home game, and I would expect a serious blow out.

Now I agree that if Smith can't suit up on Christmas Day against Antonio Brown we are probably in deep, deep trouble. Hopefully the extra week's rest will help him get at least close to game shape.

Weddle is not the problem. I shudder to think where this team would be without him. And I disagree with you that we can't play against the top tier teams; We just can't WIN against them. The Raven's have played close in all their losses, but usually between stupid penalties at inopportune times and lack of commitment to the running game, it has cost us big time. So if we quit beating ourselves, we'd look like a much better team.

where is levine, why r we not seeing him on the field, put him in there instead of lame Elam.

He's been battling a toe injury, hopefully not a "turf toe" issue. He probably won't be active for the Eagles game.

With Sporles out that should be a great relief. Good to see Young in there but the rest after 6 years they still play worse than a rookie. Let see some more Kyle.
