[News] Byrne Identity: There Is No Merry Christmas Without Winning This Sunday

33 posts in this topic

You’ve heard John Harbaugh say it through the years: “Iron sharpens iron.”
I'm so tired of that. Actually, any metal / material SLIGHTLY harder than iron will sharpen it......Harder than iron- I'm not seeing it this year.
Perhaps we should go with, "if any part of the fish stinks- the entire fish stinks"; or, "just cut the head of the snake off (I love reptiles- I better watch myself)". I guess whatever that 'head' is- we all have our definitions ( either player or front office). Then again, "an iron fish hook taken out of a fish with bad breath......:)

Regardless if we win or lose, there is a lot more than football (beat Pittsburgh!).
Have a great and safe Holiday!

we all knew we would prob. lose to N.E.. I did, but it was really a no no game.. It mattered but it didn't we still have control from here on out. And it starts sunday at home vs Philly. and with Joe Flacco.. passes have to be on target receivers have to catch the ball and defense just has to be itself and ball out. I dot see any reason why we would not be able to run through these last 3 games and make the playoffs. I mean we have seen it a few times this year. when our fellas lock it down we can beat any team in this league. and I have that faith going forward, I mean hell, we swept pitt last year on the way to a 5-11 season. ad we are a much better team this year.

Sorry Kevin but there are a lot of excuses in this post. Normally, I find these articles motivating and are my regular favorites. Saying crowd noise is why we let 5 minutes run off the clock is a poor excuse at best. Maybe the SSS comment is true, wasn't there either. I would however prefer to think that a senior WR heading to Canton, is sick of Flacco and his hot and cold play style. Maybe, just maybe, an butt chewing from SSS is what Flacco needs to wake up and play ball. I'm beginning to think that January Joe is a historic icon that is gone forever.

The usual lip service that's been going on all season. Team just isn't any good and I wouldn't be surprise if they lose to the Eagles. To be completely honest, the Ravens don't need to be in the playoffs, because they are a one and done team.

There are 4 one and done teams every year. Since Harbaugh has been here they Have won all of Their First games, So I wouldn't discount them.

So you want to call out the media for reporting their opinion on the subject, but you have no proof to deny their opinions on what happened because you didn't bother to ask Steve Smith about the incident, even though it was a pretty big deal? You do know Smith has a history of doing this sort of thing. It also makes me think that after the comments in your story about people needing to focus and to make plays, that he was probably ticked off with some errant throws from Flacco because as we all have seen this season, Flacco has been pretty inconsistent with his deep passes.

So doing nothing to at least give Smith the opportunity to put it to rest, speculation is allowed to be fanned and to run rampant.

Except most places I read reported that he was mad "at Flacco" almost as fact, not opinion, and people interpreted it as fact in the comments, as you obviously have.

Sure, he should have asked in the interview, but he did give inside information from the trainer that is directly contradictory to the media...

Smith has a hjistory of getting pissed off, but he also has a history of saying "you can never over throw me".

You shouldn't give up on your team until they are eliminated.

"Team just isn't any good"....no. The Browns aren't any good. Even if we end up at 8-8 we're "half good" so to speak. You can't just say we aren't any good when we've won games and are in the playoff hunt.

Even if they go 1 and done, who cares? We were 5-11 last year. Remember?

Basically the playoffs begin for the Ravens this Sunday......lose, and they're out. I couldn't imagine the Steelers losing to the Browns.

Effectively you are right, but they might lose to the Bengals on Sunday. Then if we lost to the Eagles we would just have to match them in week 17.

True, plus wildcard is still a possibility at 9-7 (need Dolphins to lose 2 of 3--they have Jets, Bills, and Patriots left.....and Dolphins to lose 2 of 3--they have Patriots, Chiefs, and Raiders left)

...but

This really is a must-win game.  This is our last home game and the "easiest" game left on our schedule.

"Browns get their only win this year against Pittsburgh." That's a headline I'm hoping to see. ;)

Well, its time to put up or shut up for Harbs , all the coaches , Flacco and the rest of the team. these next 3 weeks will tell how much do the Ravens want it and I'm sure the Boss man is watching as well. I'm tired of the excuses and bad play from week to week. Man up and play PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL. This is your job do what a lot of us do and work hard. The team has talent on both sides of the ball. Last year between a tough early schedule and a lot of key injuries blew that season apart, but NOT this year easier schedule and not many injuries. Time is now to play smart and play to win these next 3 weeks and hopefully into January. Let's do this !!!

I have heard no excuses from this team. They excepted the blame on every loss so don't go that route. They want these wins more then anyone I'm sure. What I'm not sure of is the consistent play to win them. I will hold my breath each possession of the ball and hope for the best. Go Ravens!

Well there are three left so we'll see. Try to look at the glass as half full and not half empty. I know I will. Go Ravens.

Some people will stick their head in the sand and give up. Spread nasty comments about a team who never gives up like they do. I personally am not going to stick my head in the sand. I'm going to root for this team regardless of outcome. Go Ravens!

Our D is good enough to hold the Steelers to 20 pts or fewer but our O isn't good enough to score 20 pts or more unless Tucker kicks 7 FGs.

All the typical Raven fans are out in full bloom. There are many teams that are worse than the Ravens. Go root for them

I'm always rooting for as much Ravens football as we can get. We can win all 3 games for sure. Will we, who the heck knows but we "can" win them and boy would that be nice. We start with Sundays game against the Eagles and we'll go from there.
If we do make the playoffs and are one and done as some say, at least we got one more game to watch than we did last year.
Just hoping we get out of this game healthy so we can play Pitt at full strength.
LET's GO RAVENS!

I remember in 2012 we lost our four last games, and ended up winning the superbowl. We were torched against a great team, the Denver Broncos, that we saw again in the playoffs. A guy like Anquan Boldin said he was happy to see them again. Well, maybe for now we are not completely ready yet. But there is an other three games before the show starts. There is still room to improve. Jimmy Smith could come back when january comes. the offensive line and the running game has room to improve. There is still hope, folks. If this is the last year of Steve Smith Senior, the football gods could be cheering for us.

This is the first of three that we absolutely must win to keep any hopes alive. It's been a difficult path, one filled with rocks and potholes. I hope to see our guys step up and play their hearts out to make the remaining journey worthwhile.

Last chance at awesomeness, let Tucker sing the national anthem Sunday, the Ravens will be ready, and next week against the squealers, but, as usual, harbaugh won't be able to get the team up against Cincinnati and we'll lose it all, thanks John, that will make 4 games you blew for us this year, keep up the good work, maybe If they gave you more money I'm sure you could do better.

That is sad.
