[News] Ravens Confident In Secondary, Even Without Jimmy Smith

78 posts in this topic

If Jimmy Smith (ankle) can’t suit up against Philadelphia, the Ravens will turn to Shareece Wright, who played well in relief of Smith against the New England Patriots. Baltimore has given up big plays without Smith on the field.

If we overlook the Eagles and lose to them at home, then our playoff chances will probably be very slim. I am still hoping for a miracle regarding Jimmy's ankle.

Have they not watched any game tape? They get torched when Jimmy is gone.

We could improve upon Wright and Powers, but Tavon Young is a beast. PFF said Young only allowed 16 of Brady's 400 yards. We need Jimmy back for Pittsburgh.

Secondary doing what they can the Offense continues to leave the Defense hanging! The Defense had Brady having a fit on the sidelines but the Offense choked! To the Secondary "Keep Fighting"

Harbs was annoyed by the question and clearly didn't even sound confident in the crap he tried to sell us by saying he believes in the secondary with or w/o jimmy. He is really clueless

Weddle and Webb just need to stay deep to ensure everything stays in front of them and not try to do too much.

While watching the game against the Patriots. Everyone that knows this team well knew that Flacco was going to play with no emotion until the patriots scored first.

Has anyone else noticed the games where our offense gives ZERO effort up until the opposing teams offense has already ran the lead up. Then after we are down Flacco all of a sudden wakes up and plays ball, but by that time it's to late.

When I saw Brady showing that high emotion and fire on the sideline, I couldn't help but say "I wish Flacco was like that". I knew at that point in the 1st quarter that the game was over. Flacco cannot match the competitiveness of Brady. Only Ray Lewis was capable of pushing this team over that edge.

Which is why I was upset at people who criticized Ray for criticizing Flacco. I do not know what goes through some peoples mind, but when a legend like Ray Lewis gives out criticism, especially to a player that is playing for the team he fought for, you just shut up and listen. I'd take Ray Lewis over flacco any day...point blank. Flacco should have been thankful to get those words from Ray. he only said it because he truly cares about this organization. Unfortunately there are people in this Ravens organization that never gave as much as Ray did, but they feel like they are in a position to downplay his words.

I'm honestly not worried about the defense. i'm worried about this 50/50 offense. The fans deserve to know more about these lackluster check down passes Flacco and our offense keeps doing. It's like watching a pre mature offense sometimes. Flacco will throw it to the FB who's only about 2 yards ahead knowing he's about to get lit up by the defender shadowing him. I do not understand why this offense is still running these plays.

What is it?!?!? Are the receivers not getting open fast enough?? If so why haven't they made adjustments or audibles to counter the blitz?

Are they not putting in the effort during practice to be a more consistent/dangerous offense? We had that one great game against the Dolphins but we should not settle for that.
The fans deserve an honest answer from this organization on these check down passes Flacco is throwing over and over again, because it's happening in every game that we lose/

need to make cb the priority in the offseason because brittle jimmy will always miss games every season at the worst time. tavon will continue to improve but he is suited for the slot or against smaller receivers. im disappointed with the front office for not making it a priority after that debacle in ne 2 years ago

They need to run the ball, and run, and run. 52 passes to 15 runs is Terrible. You can't have Play Action if the Defense Knows you are going to throw it all the time. When Kubiak was Coordinator he kept running and Forset got most of his yards late in the game. The Patriots had a zone dense and rushed 3 players alot, and we didn't run? The OC needs to get on the ball and say "Run".

Ray Didn't throw 11 touchdowns in the 2012 Playoff run.I really don't care what Ray says he is retired, move on.

Lord please send Norv Turner to Baltimore to be OC. The true difference in the loss to NE is very simple. The have a better HC, OC and DC. Very simple.

Draft and Free Agency we need to pick up 3 new CB's.

The real difference in NE vs Bal Bill is not letting his coordinators run those systems he is involved in every every decision in the game plan. IF Joe played and threw so many checkdowns Bill would bench him and fire the OC.

i was hoping he would have been signed as a consultant than give him the job at the end of the season. depends on whether he even wants to continue coaching. hopefully harbs at least talks to him at the end of the season.

Ray just only carried this franchise for 16 1/2 years. Flacco had one good post season and you're ready to crown him king. How about we move on from Flacco

yeah ray didn't throw the touchdowns, and he admitted he didn't have much left, but when he suited up the team including Joe was ready...he told Joe lead us...granted a call to joe saying hey man gettin it done my have worked better...but lets not forget it was the toughnest of Boldin and Jacoby that help win that game...oh and a threat a running back named Ray Rice...it was 4th and 28 that started that run...the playoff hopes were over if it were not for that play.
