[News] Ravens Promote WR/RS Michael Campanaro To 53-Man Roster

21 posts in this topic

This could be one of the biggest things to happen for the Ravens since Yanda's return. Campy's got to stay healthy, as long as he does he brings an x-factor to the team that it desperately needs. As far as the Cornerback situation, the Ravens should pull out all the stops, look under every rock, leaf and branch, high and low to find a shut down corner capable of stepping up to "playoff" level football receivers. This team is headed up Everest, you don't take the wrong equipment, the wrong clothing or the wrong personnel up the mountain.

That's been elusive ever since the day's CMAC

There are some comments here that the Cardinals have released Michael Floyd. If that is true, I think that the Ravens absolutely should consider giving up one of the DB's for a space for Michael if they can work out a deal. Elam, Huff, lewis-Harris all are expendable for the rest of the season.

Is this supposed to be an upgrade? This is one of the reasons Harbaugh should be on the hotseat, this guy is not only injury prone he is average at best.

I know he's a local boy and I want so much to see him succeed here. I just can't allow myself to be duped into believing that Campanaro can remain healthy enough to be effective in this league.

The guy has played in 8 games in three seasons to this point and is always Injured with some kind of ailment. His body is just not built to handle the vicious hits or the grind at the NFL level. I wish him luck, he's going to need it.

Not sold on Campanaro. However if we have good offense, securely fair catching ball would be sufficient.

Problem is, Ravens have AWFUL offense with FBAJ. Webb is the best punt returner they have, and they just waste a roster spot on a stiff like Hester or the FRAGILE Camp.

I'd rather have depth at corner other then someone just to fair catch the ball. I heard he got hurt getting out of his car last night.(sarcasm)

There are many players who started off their careers as regulars on the injury report. You can claim he is fragile, but you cant deny plays like he made against the Steelers where he made them look like fools trying to tackle him, or his ability to get open (something we desperately need watching our existing wideouts). I think he is worth another shot knowing what he can do as opposed to getting WHO at CB. Promote someone from the practice squad, pick up a player dumped for a DWI, grab someone from some other teams practice squad. Yeah, nice idea if there is a cb out there who has proven he can impact a game like Campanaro can, but give me names. Just saying get a cb doesn't cut it.

Biggest question is, can he finally stay healthy?

I think the first question is if he gets in the game. Ravens do some strange things lately. I mean I seriously thought they fired a coach for not running the ball.

Keep Hester's number on speed dial. I really like what I've seen from Campanaro, but unfortunately due to injuries I haven't seen as much of him as I would have liked. Hopefully the injury bug is a thing of the past for him and we can finally see him produce like the Ravens thought he could.

Hester released!!!??? With three games left I find that to be an unnecessary move. Perhaps Harbaugh should have seen the blocker schemes as the reason they "didn't get the job done" I hope Camp can do something before he has a quad injury
