[News] With Division Title Still Within Arm's Reach, Ravens Focus Eyes Forward

39 posts in this topic

Said before that for this team to go somewhere, they need some extremely good fortunes regarding injury. Joe can't go down (despite all the criticism, he's the only one on the team that has the ability to take this team far - even if he doesn't always show it) ... The O line cannot take a hit and none of Suggs, Doom, Weddle or Jimmy can go down if we're to have a chance.

So much for that.

We've seen what happens in the secondary when Jimmy is gone. If we have more of the same, we'll possibly survive the Eagles game at home, but winning in PIT ... a game that was already going to be tough to win ... just got a lot tougher.

I just don't understand why we don't run the ball. Flacco has 549 passing attempts and Dixon and West combined have 222. That's a 72:28 ratio. In 2014 (arguably our best offense) It was a 62:38 ratio. Moreover, we could pass that much because the run opened up play action. It's not like we're not running well either; Dixon is averaging 4.3 yards/attempt. To put that in perspective Ray rice averaged 4.4 yards/attempt in 2012 and went for over 1,000 yards. We have two of the fastest receivers in the league - why can't we spread the field and run play action anymore? The bigger concern is this has been addressed and was allegedly a large reason we fired Trestman. Nothing has changed. Crushing the dolphins might have been the worst thing for us; it gave validation to the coaches that Flacco can throw the ball 50 times and win a game handedly.

Penalties put us in long down & distances - Not running it on 3rd & 11. Our fast WRs can't get open so teams can play them with single coverage allowing the Safeties to drop down in the box - Not running it with 8 players in the box. We are way behind on the scoreboard, we were down 16-0 to the Pats early in the 2nd quarter - Not going to run the ball there.

You can change all the OC, Head Coach, O-Line coaches all you want but the personnel remains the same. As long as we have WRs that can't get open, teams are going to stack the box and play the run forcing 2 yard checkdowns to the FB.

the team may lose at Philly this weekend. Harbaugh words are falling on deaf ears. Its time for a change, the OC needs to go as well a total overhaul. They need someone to challenge Flacco, a more mobile qb , a guy like Deshone Kizer who just declared for the draft.

Fans overract too much to this and this is a example of it. We could've expected a loss to the Pats just like almost every Raven fan said a week ago and then when we lose everyone complains. We still control of our destiny. We just have to win our last 3 remaining games if not it always next year. It's not the end of the world. Maybe if we get into the playoffs, we will beat Pats in a game that counts you never know. We will be better prepare if we see them again. Have faith.

Most of the Ravens players were here when Gary Kubiak was here and yet they made it to the playoffs. New England did not "stack the box" and yet the Ravens still did not try and run. Patriots lead the league in just rushing three. Ravens drafted a WR his name is Perriman and has 6 catches in four games. "we were down 16-0 to the Pats early in the 2nd quarter - Not going to run the ball there" SO your going to pass and most likely give the ball right back to Brady and put the defense back on the field? You must be part of Ravens coaching staff with all that logic.

cannot develop receivers and front office has let too many up and comers go because we overpay for old farts. have not corrected the cb issue we have had for several years now yet we draft players high that we cut within 3 years. correia and perriman better step up big time next season or ozzie should really consider stepping aside in favor of decosta. i know a lot of the young guys we have let go in free agency have not worked out on their new teams but these players were solid in our system and some of them should have been resigned.

Yeah, they are up against the wall. The real question is whether they facing forward with eyes wide open and jaws clenched or are they turned around leaning with arms above their heads and heads hung low.

Make the last home game build momentum for the run at that Lombardi Trophy! Everybody needs to be there! That was a good game last night "Keep your head up"!

Good game last night? Are you serious? I understand how some fans are very pessimistic but you are delusional my friend. There was nothing in last nights game that inspires confidence. The supposed #1 defense allowed 496Yds and our offense is abysmal to watch.

The Def ranking is skewed by many factors including playing a garbage schedule at the beginning of the year (Bills and Jags), Browns x2, NYJ, NYG, Pitt with Ben 10 days removed from surgery, Bengals without AJ...

Ever since week 2 when the Browns hung 20Pts on us in 7mins I knew this team was garbage. At least we weren't the ones that gave Cleveland their only win (if they ever get it).

Keep believing what you want to believe but its been blatantly clear since the preseason that this team was never destined to finish over .500. The way things are going the Ravens wont make the playoffs for another 2-3 years.

When our Defense was ranked #1 before Brett Favre carved them up for 441 yds so why would you look down on our squad now?! Smh good QBs will win games Joe is a pocket passers and Bellichick will stop him every time! Can't extend the play etc allowing WRs to make more moves to get open! Like I said "good game" because the Offense finally broke the ice but Brady pass over the top knocked the air out of our sails! Devin Hester didn't make things any better and that holding call when Juice walked through their defense didn't help as well! PS some people have a good football team but don't know squat but pointing fingers and sniveling! My squeeler buddies got better things to say than you! Smh because it could have been worse if our Defense wasn't so "RELENTLESS"!

Are you aware that our only 2 losses since the bye were to the top 2 teams in the league, on the road, by 10 and 7 points? A couple of our wins since then were against 8-5 teams. Yet you act like it's so irrational to think this team is capable of beating the Eagles, Steelers, and Bengals. Fans are seriously overreacting to a loss.

I'm not "Acting about it being irrational, it truly IS irrational. It's because, NE was dropping 8 into coverage all game long and we didn't run the ball to stop that. Football 101 IMHO. We don't adjust at all. We get down to 4 minutes and our guys act like we're up by 10 points instead of down by 10 by meandering back to the line and that's been going on for a couple years and they still haven't fixed that (How hard is it to correct that?) and I can go on and on about what we do wrong and fail to correct. It's not who we play because I believe we have the talent to beat anyone, Dallas or NE IF, we paid attention more during the game. Fans aren't over reacting, our team is Under reacting!

First order of business is to defend the home field against the Eagles. This is a must win game. Thankfully the Ravens have Harbaugh at the helm who is a master at firing up the troops. I'm sure Harbaugh is instilling a sense of urgency in his team. I can't wait to see the Ravens take the field on Sunday. No need to fast forward to the Steelers or Bengles. It's a one quality play at a time season from this point on, and I'm confident in Harbaugh and company. I bet if Trump owned the Ravens he wouldn't tell Harbaugh "your fired"! Go Ravens!!!
