I just looked on google, no update yet. We need him to play. He is MVP of our defense, we don't play the same when he is out.

He's not going to play. He's got a significant ankle sprain. 

If he plays again before the playoffs, I'd be highly surprised.

As far as I know, we don't actually know the extent of the injury.

Based on Jimmy's reaction when it happened, I'm afraid he's a long shot for last two games.

If he's able to play he will. He realizes this is do or die so he will do everything he can to be out there. If he's not- then he's probably a ways away. UNLESS Miami loses Saturday night and we decide to play it safe. Thats one advantage of having this game on Xmas as opposed to Saturday. Ofcourse we'll be shooting for the division but we've got to play it safe- and if Miami loses Saturday a wildcard is a really strong possibility. I THINK if he was for sure out until atleast the playoffs they would just say so...but with harbaugh who the heck knows. I think if he practices at all this week even in a limited fashion he will have a 75% chance of suiting up.  I know its on my xmas list..But I doubt he practices...

He couldn't put any weight on his injured leg and got stretchered off the field. 

That may be being extremely cautious, but it screams "significant" injury to me. I'd be surprised to see him before the playoffs.

He's done for the year IMO unless we make the playoffs then who knows if he will even be ready for that? I hate the way harbs discloses injuries. I get why he doesn't leak to much info but I hate being left in the dark about that kinda stuff as a fan

I honestly think Jimmy is the most valuable player on the team. We have a better chance of winning with Flacco out than Jimmy. Maybe if we actually had some decent depth at CB. 🙄

It won't help but not a death sentence.  They've become accustomed to him not being there and I'm sure Pees/Weddle have been forming a plan.

I think the effects of his absence have been greatly exaggerated by the quality of the opponents and other circumstances in the games he has missed. I also think the others in the secondary have improved and are now much better equipped to pick up the slack. Again, not saying it doesn't hurt, but I think they can make it work. A decent pass rush wouldn't hurt either!  lol

Well if we were playing a team without a top WR in the league id agree, but since we are facing a team with a top 5 RB and top 5 WR I think its even more critical.

Would absolutely love nothing more than to have jimmy back for this game- but we CAN win without him. Shareece has taken a lot of flack and his play is def streaky at best- but I've got faith he will get the job done for his boy on Sunday. Infact I think he might make a game changing play.

No Jimmy at practice today. Probably is going to have to get at least a limited practice in either tomorrow or Friday to have a shot at playing.

harbaugh not disclosing the injury, doesnt mean its some day-to-day thing. you all saw the injury, that is a severe high ankle sprain. IF jimmy comes back at any point this season, the absolute earliest he could do it would likely be the AFC championship game, and without him on the field we likely dont have a shot at getting there. and if the stars align and he does come back, he would likely be hobbled as hell. and honestly, to be more realistic, that would be an extremely optimistic expectation, based on usual evaluations of high ankle sprains he would be in playing shape during the bye week between the AFCCG and the SB, and playing shape is an exaggeration.

You never know. If we can win these next 2 @ Steelers and @ Bengals, it is possible to have 2 playoff games vs backup QBs before the AFC Championship game (Miami, Oakland). I do think if that is our path, we have a chance to beat Miami and Oakland without Jimmy. IMO this game vs the Steelers will be a bigger test than those potential playoff matches
