Next Up: Ravens vs Eagles M&T Bank Stadium December 18, 1300

I don't have much to say about this game except that we better win going away. I watched them vs the Bengals and they looked terrible on both sides, Wentz has looked bad in every game I've seen him in, throws high a lot, he started off good but he is showing his rookie form.

If we don't win no point being too upset in the sense of us being a dark horse team that could of made a run if we just made the playoffs, if we don't win we weren't good enough to be that dark horse anyway.

Signed through 2019.

He will 100% be here next year.

Its kind of hard to justify moving on from pretty much the only defensive player on the roster who, when he isn't in the lineup, the defense almost entirely collapses.

Maybe that would happen if Weddle were to get hurt, but this unit overall is probably pretty average when Jimmy isn't on the field.

Those aren't the kind of players you "move on" from.

I don't think anyone would suggest that the Ravens just "move on" from Smith. But if the injuries and absences continue there will come a time when the team will have to weigh the worth of using a roster spot on a part time player.

Did anyone see the video of Smith Sr. talking to the Pats fans lol? I would post the link but it's NSFW. There goes his Walter Payton award

YES! LMAO, yeah I think he blew that opportunity. But I'm sure he's TOTALLY gonna lose sleep over it.

You can take this to the M&T Bank! Wentz still plays more like a poised veteran than a green rookie and there's nothing more dangerous than a team that has no pressure on them to win. They will be loose as a Canada goose. We better heed Steve Smith's advice and play to win rather than not "not play to lose". I expect this game to be more like the Dolphins game. Assuming we beat the green birds, then next week, we should give the Squealers a strict diet and dose of their own medicine - a heavy dose of running & receiving by Dixon, West & Juicecheck (sp?) with a sprinkle of crossing patterns and drag patterns to the WRs and TEs and a one or two long bomb targets to the former squealer, Mike Wallace. He will have something to prove to his former comrades in arms. That's always good by the way of incentive. That being said, it will be an uphill battle for us to win the next two games without Jimmy, just to make the last game of the year a meaningful one. Go Ravens!

I would like to see a gameplan built around Dixon and play action passes. He has the talent like a ray rice to be a 25 touch guy. No huddle shotgun stuff should be sprinkled in here and there. Still don't understand not hiring Shanahan. Was harbaugh intoxicated or something ?

John said that he was mad about the offense moving slow, says he addressed it...

Harbaugh wouldn't get into Jimmy's injury when asked. Bad sign. He's probably done. Ironically, Gillmore and A.Lewis are practicing...

What good does it really do you if they're injury prone? We can move on from him. There are other good corners out there.

Out there as in not currently on the team. How do you suppose we bring them here?

And no. There is a large portion of his salary that's guaranteed and is going to count against the team, and he's still our 2nd most important player, part time or not. There is absolutely ZERO justification to moving on from Jimmy Smith. Get real. This is ridiculous.

The truly sad thing is I'll be watching this game with a die hard Eagles fan and neither of us has much hope left for our teams this season.

The present level of play and lack of conviction is below expectations to say the least.  When the 9th year head coach is just realizing in retrospect that his team let the opportunity to win slip away due to poor clock management, hope is fading.

I doubt Harbaugh will get into injuries much after the Perriman debacle.

Everybody is injury prone if you give them the time.

Please list said corners and how we come up with the coin to pay them.

Looks like the Eagles may be without Sproles for Sunday's game:

Tim McManus ESPN Staff Writer

No sign of running back Darren Sproles at Eagles practice today. He remains in concussion protocol after brutal hit on punt return against Washington. Ryan Mathews and Kenjon Barner expected to carry bulk of load against Baltimore if Sproles can't go.

Just saw this reported on ESPN:

Jamison Hensley ESPN Staff Writer

It was an emotional Thursday at Ravens headquarters, from Steve Smith throwing his helmet to coach John Harbaugh's emotional end-of-practice talk to the team. "You have to understand, we're all a little messed up," LB Terrell Suggs said. "It was an emotional loss (at New England). We really wanted that one. We're just a little edgy. But I think it's good to be a little edgy in December."

Not sure if this is a good sign or a bad sign.  I could see it going either way.  This emotion could spark them or it could mean the team starts to unravel.  Hopefully, they come out firing vs. the Eagles!

I'm a philly fan first b-more fan second. Usually I would route for the eagles against the ravens but since there out of it I'll go with ravens the rest of the year. This Sunday is gonna be ugly either way because of the weather so I look forward to seeing a kick off between tucker and sturgis and both defenses all over the quarterbacks.

It seems like he was frustrated in Flacco having a poor practice. Hensley also stated it was the second or third time that Flacco missed him on a deep pass.

And on top of it, Harbaugh was pleading with his players to leave it all out on the field.

I'm not one to be a pessimist, but I think that they know the extent of Jimmy's injury and some of these players can feel the season slipping away. I'd be upset if I were SSS also.

I'm not expecting to see Jimmy for probably the rest of the year. Has all the sounds and looks of a high ankle sprain, which is a 4-6 week injury.

If we needed the roster spot badly enough, I would bet they would put him on IR. But we're largely healthy elsewhere, so probably no need to put him on IR.

thanx, lol, philly is not joke, they have decent D to shut down our napping offense, our D can't stay for ever on the field. for god sake they made pats punt 3 times early in the game, yet our offense couldn't muster any points. cincy and pit as we all know are tough games as it is, let alone when u dont have ur best CB. how is gonna cover AB, AJ.

The Ravens wanted the game handed to them they didn't want to play for it.
