Weddle is a great football player.  He shows up every week.

Yea he showed up for a huge blown coverage this week, I say this as someone that likes him a lot and wants him back.

weddle is ranked as the Best safety in football right now, but there really is no excuse for that dropped coverage especially in that situation, did you see the smirk on bradys face during the press conference in a sense saying even he couldnt believe how stupid that coverage was

Some of you people on here are so unreasonable after a loss sometimes I literally come here for comic relief because I'm angry about the games outcome some of the things I see I'm just like really did you watch the game?

Also, I like Flacco but he's too streaky to build an offense around. (edit: I mean he can QB us fine, I just mean he's not going to be one of those QB's who'll carry a team all season long).

Close your eyes and imagine how we'd look right now with this exact same team but Kubiak as the OC. We got a solid running game that can provide consistent offense to hedge a bad Flacco a day and still let Flacco cash in when he's in the zone.

I don't care what anyone in here says or what their defense of them may possibly be.  The Ravens offense is just pure trash in my book....period!!!!

Regardless of how they played last week and those 14 quick points that was "gifted wrapped" to them by fumbles within the Patriots 20 yard line tonight.  They are consistently inept and anemic.  That's who they are!   And for the record, that was not a #1 defense either.  Don't even know what the hell that garbage was on the field.  Another hot stinky egg laid on PRIMETIME!!  No wonder why the media overlooks us and pubs up our opponents.

SMH!!

Probably true, but what about the defense? I don't hear you saying anything about their pathetic performance tonight?   They gave up 260 yards in the first half alone.  Talk about laying a freaking egg!  Just a bad performance on both sides of the ball tonight. dropped balls, blown coverages, etc..

Once again, in your haste to rush to the offenses defense when a poster trashes them because of their piss poor gameplay...it has caused you to lose all comprehension Tank.  Read what I said in the red man!  Wow!  :D

lol exactly and what was exactly special about that defense? Hell, that defense almost lost us that damn Super Bowl. They won in spite of them not because of them.

that defence shut out the patriots in the second half of the afc championship game

They also nearly blew the biggest lead in Super Bowl history. Thank goodness Jim Harbaugh was dumb and decided to call passes to end the game.

Weddle blew one coverage yes it cost us the game but man we didn't even have the lead he makes almost no mistakes and is the reason this game didn't get out of hand with that int players make mistakes saying he isn't the best in the league is a joke again separate your emotions from your comments

Steve Smith is on his final year, I hope we can get him one last final playoff push.

True. I called it when it happened. Weddle took a gamble and got burnt, that doesn't make him 'not' elite. He took gambles all game on runs and passes and won most of those battles. Now, name an 'elite' player in the game who doesn't take risks for the team. If there is one - I haven't seen it. Search to see who are the top players in his position.

Yes, it was one bad play, but if he hadn't made some of the plays and calls that allowed our defense to keep the game competitive before that last TD - the last one probably wouldn't have mattered.

Didn't have it tonight, sad. Would have been cool if they could of taken advantage of some opportunities, Wallace and Perriman had huge drops, one led to a pick.

Yeah , my bad. Nothing to do with comprehension though. You just are always hammering on the offense so I admit that I just stopped reading.

Unless the Ravens draft the 2nd coming of Ray Lewis some time soon or manage to get another Gary Kubiak OC, it's hard to imagine this team being legit contenders. Every year it's injuries, poor draft return, penalties, and/or Flacco regression that combine to make this team unremarkable and average.

Thought we might steal it for a second, would have been too good to be true. Ravens are a tease.

I feel like if we just switched our OCs we would beat the Patriots. Check down after check down is not taking us anywhere.

Until the 3rd down everyone knows what we gonna do and we converted most of our long passes except couple of drops. So I don't understand why we don't fix this offense and keep repeating the same mistakes.

It did not work in the first half. Second half first possession we throw short passes and punt. I would not be mad if we at least tried to go deep in our last possessions. Cause throwing short on 3rd and long is accepting the defeat imo.

Yeah, we need guys to make plays and it didn't happen consistently tonight. Who knows where the game and offensive production goes if those catches are made.

I can appreciate you wanting to dwell on the positive. Yes there was some positive for the Ravens but there was so much negative tonight. We should play better.

also thought he should of made a play on the first TD, breezed past Mitchell - blow him up

we miss the nastiness in our backend

nobody is scared of our secondary - we need some nasty back there

We miss coverage in our secondary.  Lack of corners, Jimmy always seems hurt and no consistent rusher.

What have we done since - we rode those guys to a SB - ride it out again, couldn't have been much worse than 8-8 and if it was just would have kick started a true rebuild with higher picks

Ihedigbo>Pollard all day. Like I said only one we should have kept was Boldin.

I agree on that play, make him pay for it, it's worth the penalty, we get lousy field position on the reg anyway

i remember ray rice fumbling and giving 49ers good field position and then the offence laying an egg and 49ers were back on the field.

we're not even going to the sb if the defence doesnt show out in foxboro - horse before the cart

In my earlier post I addressed the negatives... Devin Hester, the missed coverage and TD by Hogan, Mike Wallace drop for INT,  the loss

The Ravens had the 5th best pass defense in DVOA.  While secondary depth is an issue, the starters are very good.  Young is a budding shutdown corner and Jimmy is good in his own right.  Add a pass rusher to this team and the defense is scary good.

Everything was exposed on prime time tonight. Im Sick of criticizing the same mistakes after every game. Whatever happens this season happens. We'll see what changes are made after the season ends. Hopefully the 2017 draft will be reminiscent of 1996. Baltimore misses you, Ray Lewis.
